Landing the blind approach on the right level is key to any chance fo"I really like this hole. It’s a very demanding par-4. Keep your drive in the left or center of the fairway, but short of the bunker. If you’re right you will be totally blocke3A seemingly gracious fairway gets pinched by mounds left and bunkers right on the third. The flatter rear portion of the green provides opportunity to roll in a lengthy putt, whileYou’ll really need to get this tee shot to the correct spot in the fairway - center or left, because right and you’re dead. If you have to recover from there though, creativity4Though it’s the longest hole on the front, length isn’t the challenge on the fourth. The creek slicing strategically across the landing area makes reaching in two a daunting taA very straightforward par-5. Drive it a little left of center, then lay up to around 80 yards, hit a good wedge, and make an easy birdie. If you reach the green in two, you’ll p5When the first par-3 stretches to 200 yards or more, difficulty holding the slender green compounds the chance of losing a stroke. Bunkers protect any hole location on the right siOur longest and most demanding par-3. The shallow green requires a precise long iron or hybrid into it. The big bunker right catches a lot of shots, but is a surprisingly easy play6On the scorecard the sixth seems benign, but big drives are rewarded only by cresting a plateau, which leaves a more difficult approach than drives short of the crest. A number of Six is the ruin of many a good round. For me, it’s the hardest tee shot to get into play. From the back tee, depending on the wind, I hit 5-wood, 3-wood, or driver and try to con7It takes reaching the edge of a steep descent in the fairway to reveal the true beauty on the seventh. From there, mature hardwoods, a low bunker, and the rock walled creek frame tKeep your tee shot right. A large, deep bunker frames the fairway left and is a one-shot penalty. You don’t want to be there. Your second shot plays a club downhill to a green th8At a glance, a front hole location on the par-3 eighth appears inviting, but the penalty for missing this tiny segment of green is severe. At deeper hole locations the landing areaThe hole location can turn this into a difficult hole. The tee shot is easy, but don’t get too far right, or you end up in a big grass hole. The green is unbelievably fast going 9Finishing the front side, the ninth hole allows plenty of room to drive and bonus length for reaching a downslope about 100 yards from the green. Scoring opportunities emerge in sh"A short par-4 that can spark a comeback, but a misplaced wedge or short iron can also deflate momentum.
