1A very attractive starting hole with an impressive view of Winter Hill in the backgroundThe fairway bunkers are waiting to catch a bad drive so ensure a good strike.The green is long and fairly narrow, try and leave an uphill putt.2From the tee, aim for the house ahead with the white gable end and stay away from the copse of trees on the rightkeep to the right of the fairway, it is, after all, a par five.A good drive can get you to a position where you could reach the green in two but if laying up3A tough short hole if you miss the green. If the ground is hard, you could get your second shot just over the hill and left, it should run onto the green. This5Definitely the hardest hole on the course.The two fairway bunkers are poised to catch the longer hitters from the tee. The fairway runs from right to left so the best line is towards the right hand bunker.A tip on your second shot - it's further than it looks6Nothing hidden on the tee shot, just go straight up the hillAgain like the fifth, the second shot is further than it looks due to the dip in the middle of the fairway which is well short of the green7The green is a two tier green. No hidden hazards on the tee shot.There is a bunker on the left to capture very bad approach shots and there is a bunker to the right hand edge of the green. A good hole to par to set you up with confidence for the10This is a relatively short Par 4Aim for the marker at the back of the green. Beware in summer, the greenslopes away from you, right to left and can be quite fast, aim your approach to the right of the flag11This is a tricky Par 4 with a beautiful view of the Yarrow Valley and Chorley in the distance. The tee shot is better kept to the left hand side of the fairway as the trees on the On your approach to the green the fairway runs violently left to right so if you're planning to run onto the green, aim for the left hand bunker and drop it short. If aiming for the flag, play it high and pitch on the green.12A blind teeshot uphill, aim for the marker post in the centre of the fairwayLeft hand side of the fairway opens up the green a little bit more.For your second shot the green is fairly narrow with bunkers to left and right. The hole tends to play longer than it's yardage hence Stroke index 2.13A good tee shot will provide a good view of the green but is still out of reach. Beware the copse of trees on the right which can trap a pushed second shot.The fairway runs left to right on your tee shot with out of bounds down the right. Again keep to the left of the fairway if you can.
