1A stunning opening hole on an elevated tee box with a drive into the valley, the ball seemingly staying in the air forever. Up over 'the Ridge' with a climb up to the two-tier gre2Club selection is very important on this short par 3, with the fickle downland winds and sadistic pin positions. On via the left bank is claimed to be 'local knowledge'. A large bu3Good golf hole slightly uphill with 520 yards of woods, bush and shrub for the slicer to negotiate. Once right, always right on this hole. There are much used bunkers left and righ4This is a short par 4 and a tempting shoulder opener where a good contact to left of centre can set up for a par, birdie or better. This is the highest point of the course with vie5The good drive must be to the right to run down the sloping fairway into a good position for the second to a basin green. Too short left or right and one can find sand - too much a6The hardest hole on the course and known as the 'shot-dropper'. Two mighty blows are needed to reach the green in two. A good tee shot to reach the dog leg is critical on this toug7A long par 3 needs a well struck ball on the line of the ordnance survey monument. This will move left onto an unbunkered green.8Stunning views on this hole, the longest on the course, measuring 579 yards from the whites. A good tee shot is middle to left of the fairway with the natural camber bringing it ri9An uphill par 4 where the sensible shot is keeping it left avoiding the bunkers and out of bounds to the right. The shot in to the green will be with a mid iron, but beware of this10Back across the road and through the trees leading to the inviting looking 10th hole. This par 4 generally plays longer than it’s yardage due to playing into the prevailing wind 11A well protected green with bunkers right and a swale at the front make this par 3 harder than it may initially seem. Clubbing is all important here with the hole being at a high p12An inviting view awaits at the elevated 12th tee encouraging you to open up your shoulders and get a good drive away. 13The 13th is another long par 3 measuring 200 yards from the white tee. 14A long up hill hole from the back tee. An accurate drive is a must to get through the trees either side of a small fairway.15Every golfer who has played this course knows the pit and has enjoyed the drive flattering run down-hill having avoided the line of bushes and trees on the right and the bunkers on16Uphill short hole with bunkers front and right. The best line in is to the left to take advantage of the banking that persuades the ball down onto the green.17An extremely attractive hole driving from the elevated tee down in to the valley. A formidable shot follows to climb up to the postage stamp elevated two-tier green over the centre18Another elevated tee with the ideal line being straight at the Clubhouse to avoid woods on the right and 'out of bounds' on the left
