1A tee shot favouring the left side will miss the lone fairway bunker on the right hand side and will leave a mid to short iron to a well-protected green. 2A relatively short par 3, but be sure to take half a club more. Any shot missing the plateau green leaves a difficult ‘up and down.3An aggressive line off the tee will be down the left hand side leaving you a shorter shot but be aware anything too far left will enter the rough and leave an extremely difficult a4This is a tricky par 3 that is well guarded by 7 bunkers. A tee shot just carrying the bunker short (middle) is likely to filter down to the green.5A good line off this tee is a line just left of the 2 bunkers on the right. 6This is the toughest hole on the course for the men. A long par 4 (par 5 and S.I. 18 for the ladies) that should be treated with respect. There are numerous bunkers and out of boun7A testing par 5. The goal off the tee shot is to avoid the water on the right hand side and the out of bounds on the left. Accuracy is paramount to avoid the two well placed bunkers on the right side. A good drive in the fairway will leave a short approach in, a good b11A well bunkered par 3 with a McKenzie green that often plays longer than it looks. Even when finding the green you can be left with a tricky 2 putt.12Grassy mounds split the fairway at around 250 yards from the tee.13A tough tee shot where you need to avoid the left hand bunkers and ditch running beyond them.14Accuracy is paramount for what many consider the signature hole. With Out of Bounds to the right of the trees, and the clubhouse on the left the tee shot is the tightest and toughe15The course’s only blind tee shot which, if hit over the marker post towards the church, leaves you in good shape. Considered by Henry Cotton to be the best short hole in Lancashire, it usually plays into the prevailing wind. A long iron, hybrid or wood is required 17Hole 17 has recently been remodelled. An updated flyover should be available in early 2020* 18A tee shot through the avenue of trees and dunes will find a rather large landing area, and depending on distance will leave you the option to attack the well-guarded narrow green
