Calculate your yardage carefully and swing away.3The tee on #3 is the highest point on the Arcadia Bluffs property, 225 feet above the bluff, offering complete panoramic views of the entire property and Lake Michigan.A three shot par 5, everything you need to know is right in front of you. The smartest angle into the green is from the right side offering a great angle. Take a few pictures once 4A short downhill par 4, hole #4 is a tight driving hole with cross bunkers in play on the right side.Keep your drive to the left for the best view into this low-lying green, but be careful of the deep sod-walled bunker that guards the right side.5Hole #5 offers stunning panoramic views of Lake Michigan, as the hole falls toward the bluff and the lake.A straightforward three-shot par 5, the trouble lies in the bunkers that protect the layup area on both the right and left. It’s best to trust your GPS yardage on the layup, and 6This uphill par 3 turns back to the east and offers players another challenge to select the right clubThe smart play is to add 8-10 yards to your yardage for the uphill, and the multi-tiered green will test all your skill to get up and down. Once on the green, look west and enjoy t7The wide-open fairway of hole #7 offers the opportunity to swing away and unleash your powerful drive.Usually playing downwind, #7 is one of the longer par 4s at Arcadia. The second shot is slightly uphill, so factor this into your club selection, and pay attention to the hole locaShort shots will be repelled back into the fairway leaving a challenging uphill pitch to an elevated green.8Hole #8 is one of the most visually pleasing holes on the course, with both native and sod-walled bunkers in play.Playing uphill all the way, a drive on the center or left-center of the wide fairway is your best play.Although the putting surface is not visible on the approach, the flagstick is and your GPS will give you the exact yardage to the hole. Add a few yards for the uphill and swing awa9Although it appears to play downhill, this par 3 is actually slightly uphill so club accordingly.The green has false front, so short shots will be repelled into the collection area leaving an eye-level pitch. The tee offers another great photo opportunity with Lake Michigan as10This difficult downhill par 4 requires your attention from start to finish. Aim your tee shot at and over the aiming post on the right side, as it will leave you a clear view of thTip—If you can see your tee shot in the fairway, you won’t be able to see the green on your approach.The approach is also downhill, but usually against the prevailing wind so club accordingly. The deep greenside bunker is unforgiving, so a shot played in from the right is the smar11The stunning downhill par 5 eleventh is prO-Bably the most photographed hole at Arcadia, and arguably one of the most photographed holes in all of golf.The hole plays down the slope all the way to the green, with a premium on keeping it in the fairway.The long fescue rough sneaks in on both sides the entire length of the hole, and the hole narrows as you get closer to the green. Be precise in your layup and you’ll be rewarded 12A tee shot favoring the left side will offer the best approach.This approach offers a bump and run opportunity to the green.13Although this par 3 can be visually intimidating, remind yourself the carry across the abyss is only 120-140 yards depending on the tee box you’re hitting from, even though the oLand your tee shot on the front part of the green and it will advance forward toward the middle every time. This green is subtle, so play a little less break than you think you see14The par 4 fourteenth requires the most accurately played tee shot you’ll hit all day—missing the fairway spells trouble.A fairway wood or long iron is all you need to place your tee shot safely in the fairway. Add 10 yards to your uphill approach,and bring it in high and soft if you’re able. Short approaches will be rejected by the false front and the greenside bunker is unforgiving. This is simply a great short par 4.15The last par 5 of the round, this slightly uphill straightaway hole takes you back toward the clubhouse.There are bunkers to avoid, but they are directly in front of you and easily maneuvered with an accurate tee shot. The sod-walled bunker approximately 120 yards short of the green,If you find yourself in it, play sideways and take your medicine. A sharp false-front repels short approaches, so be aggressive. This is a tricky green that requires a soft touch a16You can’t see the green from the tee, so aim your tee shot at the tall trees in the distance that surround the 13th green.The fairway is very wide, so a tee shot in that general direction will give you a clear view of the green for your approach.Now the fun begins.
