1Aim your tee shot to the left side of this sloping fairway and you’ll need just a short iron for your 2nd shot.This flat green will hold a lofted shot, yet a number of players opt for the bump and run. Either way avoid going long or to the left and par should be easy.2This par 5 requires 2 straight wood shots followed by a mid/short iron 3rd to the green.Long hitters can come close in 2 but beware! Hazards border both sides of the fairway.A large flat green will leave you with a good chance for the one putt.3Grab a long iron, hit it down a hallway and make it stop on a dimeSound like fun? That’s #3, our toughest par 3. Make sure you hit enough club; this uphill hole plays longer than its yardage might suggest.If anything, a miss just short of the green will leave you with an uphill chip to the pin and a good chance for par4Short and straight away, #4 gives you a chance to get one back from old man parA good drive here will leave you with a short iron to the green. Take advantage of this one!
5Distance and accuracy are a must on #5. Overall length, well-placed bunkers and a fairway flanked by hazards make it one of our toughest holes.A good drive to the right side of the fairway will avoid the bunkers and leave you roughly 200 yards from the pin.Reload the cannon and fire away, a back to front sloping green will hold your long iron or wood shot. Don’t overshoot. Trouble lurks behind the green6Overlooking Evans Notch, this beautiful and scenic par 4 is our 2nd toughest holeA drive of 200 yards or better is required to see the green which lies in a valley at the bottom of the hill.Make sure you have enough club on your 2nd or you may find the creek that crosses the fairway just short of the green. There is no trouble long and the bowl shaped green tends to f7A wide sloping green guarded by bunkers make this hole a tricky and challenging part 3Pay attention to the breaks and you should have no prO-Blems.A mid iron to the right side of the green will give you a change at the 2 putt par.8On this hole a drive of 175 yards is needed to carry a brook that crosses the fairway, from here accuracy is a must.Fairway bunkers to the left and right make the landing area very narrow.For your approach shot, a med/short iron to the left side of the green will avoid greenside bunkers to the right and leave you with a good chance at par. Pay attention: subtle brea9Watch out for O-B on your right. If you hit a good tee shot,you’ll have just a mid to short iron to the green. Like on #1, many players will hit a bump and run shot for their second.A flat green will give you a great chance for birdie, so knock it in!
10On this hole, a downhill dogleg Par 4 right,a drive of 215 yards slightly left of the two maples in the fairway will leave you with the best angle of approach to the green.A mid to short iron from a downhill lie, over a large hazard, will gladly be accepted by the back to front sloping green. Stay down on your 2nd shot and don’t overshoot the green11A long iron or fairway wood from the tee to the left side of this left to right fairway should leave you with a wedge to the greenMany birdies are made on this hole and long hitters might try to drive the green; beware of the hazard along the right side12The best dam hole in Maine! Its name comes from the old Millbrook dam, a manmade hazard that crosses this beautiful Par 3.This hole can be intimidating to the best of players, but a good swing with a mid iron can easily find the dance floor!This double green which is shared with #17 is guarded by bunkers short of and to the left.13On this tough yet tamable Par 4, distance and accuracy are a must if you want a chance at par.A lateral hazard to the left and trees on the right, make this hole challenging for all levels of play. A well hit fade from the tee will find the fairway leaving about 150 yards oA good sized green that slopes to you will accept your long iron or wood shot. But a miss, right or left, could find bunkers or trees, making the up and down difficult. Par here is14A wide landing area makes the drive the easiest shot on this hole. From here things narrow up a little and a gully-like hazard comes into playYour second shot should be a lay-up with a mid iron, although long hitters can carry the hazard and possibly reach the well-protected green in two.A mid to short iron 3rd should be played to the left side of the green avoiding the bunkers for the best chance at birdie or par.15Nothing fancy needed here! A good mid to short iron from a slightly elevated tee to a large flat green should leave many players with a chance at birdieLook out for bunkers on the left and take advantage of this one.16Don’t leave anything in the bag on this tee shot. It’s a 180-yard shot to carry the hazard and reach the fairwayOnce this is done, a shot of 170-150 yards to a sloping green will leave you with a tricky 2 putt for par.A miss just short of the green will, at times, make for a better chance at par than a 2 putt would. Don’t overshoot this one, trouble lurks behind the green.17This downhill dogleg left can be rewarding for the player who hits a straight tee shot.Avoid a well-placed fairway bunker to the right. From here a fairway wood hit down the right side will leave you with a mid to short iron to the greenThis large green is protected by a bunker on the left, so favor the right side and you’ll have a chance at birdie18A drive of 200 yards to the left side of the fairway is all you’ll need to set yourself up for the trickiest 2nd shot on the course.An uphill shot to a small three-tiered green could leave you with a great chance at birdie.If you miss the green in regulation, you’ll have to work hard for your par.
