1The first tee shot shows what is most important on the GC Ravensberger Land golf course: playing with your brains. The par 5 on hole 1 with its 428 meters requires a lot of concentration right from the tee. The ball has to find its way forward through a narrow alley into the wide landing zone. The end threatens to the left, the hard rough to the right and a large bunker area in front.2At first glance, lane 2 seems easy to play. Just under 310 meters long and dead straight. But upon closer inspection, the tasks reveal themselves. The fairway is comparatively narrow. The tree belt stretches along the right and left and there is also a threat of elimination on the left.On top of that. There are two steep fairway bunkers on the left within reach of the driver. On the right side of the fairway, a long bunker comes into play on the second shot and a3At 177 meters, hole 3 is the longest par 3 on the round. The narrow fairway, the belt of trees on the left and the forest with an out-of-bounds border on the right as well as sever4It looks simple - and yet it has its pitfalls: 330 meters long, wide landing zone, large green area. But as is so often the case, the devil is in the details. The first 60 meters of teeing off leads through a narrow alley, with the belt of trees on the left, which has an almost “magical” attraction for many players, and the exit on tThe second shot is then blocked by two closely spaced transverse fairway bunkers and the green is also well defended with bunkers in the front area on the left and right.5It is the third hardest hole on the round – and rightly so! Here it is important to keep the drive at the top left, otherwise the ball threatens to roll into the hard rough on thA distorted drive to the right threatens to be excluded, and to the left is the wide belt of trees. If you want to attack the green with your second shot, you have to play through a narrow gap. The green slopes towards the front and is defended by bunkers all around.6Certainly the most difficult and at the same time the second longest par 3 of the round!A narrow tee, the out-of-bounds left and right, a water hazard in front and lots of bunkers around the green! A real challenge for every golfer!7The longest hole in OWL is intimidating and only real long hitters have a chance of a birdie here! The track itself is – apart from its length – not particularly difficult. On the right, along the edge of the forest, runs the out-boundary, on the left is the tree belt.8Hole 8 is the shortest par 4 at the golf club. 222 meters – but they have it all.The one on the right, the long bunker on the front left, two additional fairway bunkers on the right side and several green bunkers give this course its very own character.9The wide landing zone for the tee shot is just ahead - from there it is relatively easy to play onto the large green. The fairway bunker to the right of the landing zone could cause small problems - but there is actually so much space that it hardly comes into play.10The tunnel vision on the tee belies the fact that hole 10 is relatively easy to play. Only the fairway bunker on the right side disturbs the view of the wide landing zone. The green is small and strongly defended. A lot of precision is required here, especially with the second shot. Anyone who plays too long is out of bounds or in high hard rough.11Almost 370 meters long, with smaller uphill and downhill sections, a large fairway bunker on the left side and a relatively narrow landing zone for the first drive. If you don't make it to the top, you have to take a blind shot down into the valley. There is another bunker waiting on the right edge of the fairway. The green itself is not defended, but is small and slopes from right to left. Anyone playing the green should definitely stop to the right, otherwise the ball risks running off the12483 meters long, lined with belts of trees on the left and right. A large, wide landing zone, which is only bordered by a long bunker on the left edge, invites you to unpack your dThe green is only weakly defended with two bunkers on the side. Certainly the easiest par 5 on the course!13The narrow lane between the belts of trees, the green that is strongly defended with three bunkers, a small road to the left and the out of bounds behind it - here you have to be vIf you manage to land your tee shot on the green, you can pat yourself on the back - because it happens less often than you would like!14Some approach it tactically and play straight into the large landing zone. Others take the driver, align themselves to the left and try to place their ball to the left of the fairwA variant that is only suitable for long hitters! If this drive succeeds, the strongly defended, small green is not far away. For the tacticians, however, it is still a good 150 me15It is not its length of over 500 meters, but rather the out-of-bounds boundary on the left side, the narrow landing zone including the fairway bunker and the narrow fairway itself The green is spacious and not particularly well defended with two bunkers on the side.16The shortest par 3 on the course - which, at just under 120 meters, causes a bit of excitement. The out-of-bounds boundary on the right, a small frontal moat around 30 meters in front of the green and several green bunkers make the course an exciting experience despite its sh17243 meters, no boundaries, two fairway bunkers. Anyone who thinks that this will make lane 17 easier will quickly be mistaken. The landing zone is comfortable but not overly large. The second shot on the small green is particularly difficult with the big wave, the big bunkers and the dense bushes behind it.18It makes sense to put the ball straight into the bend of the dogleg in order to get onto the green from there with a short iron. Long hitters are welcome to try the shortcut over tThe same applies to both variants: the out-of-bounds limit is looming and the dense bushes on the right can really spoil the finish! And the same applies to the shot onto the green: just not too long! Because the water hazard directly behind it has swallowed many a golf ball forever!
