1Hole 1 A tough opening hole, requiring a long straight drive slightly left of centre to be able to see the green with your approach.The second shot is ever so slightly up hill to a raised green, so take more club!2Hole 2 A narrow undulating fairway,with out of bounds lurking on the left and trees on the right, all ready to catch an errant drive. Accuracy is at a premium from the tee, with a green that falls away for your 2nd 3Hole 3 A long tough par 4, which at 440 yards from the Whites willneed two good shots, even from the best of players. Watch out for the stream that lies 100 yards short of the green which will catch a mishit second shot. An undulating green await4Hole 4 A long par four fraught with danger. The right hand bunker off the tee will catch the big hitters,but several bunkers around the green await even the slightest mishit second. Although the green appears quite simple, the slope from back to front can catch you out. Stroke Index 15Hole 5 The first of the four par 3’s and definitely the hardest!Measuring at just under 200 yards from the competition tees with a huge tier in the middle of the green, it makes club selection tricky. Take care to note the pin position before h6Hole 6 A slight dogleg from left to right and one of the shorter par 4’s -that’s not to say it’s an easy one! Several bunkers on both sides of the fairway, and more around the green, means that accuracy more than distance may be your best plan here.7Hole 7 Stroke index 1 on the White/Yellow card, this is a dogleg from right to left,with several large oak trees ready to catch anyone trying to cut the corner. The long second shot playing slightly uphill, needs plenty of club to avoid the bunkers short of the gr8Hole 8 A straightforward looking par 4 but a mishit drive may fail toclear the grassy mounds, and ditches flank both sides of the fairway leading to a well bunkered green that slopes severely from left to right.The second shot into this green generally plays a club shorter than the yardage suggests.9Hole 9 One of the shorter par 4’s on the course but also one of the narrowest.A slight dogleg from left to right, playing uphill to a long and undulating green. Club selection is vital for your approach if you are to make par.10Hole 10 One of the clubs signature holes, a short unassuming par 3, measuring 158 yards from the furthesttee, but the green is raised and slopes severely from right to left. You must carry your shot all the way to the green from the tee, or it will be gathered by the valley short of t11Hole 11 The shortest par 4 on the course but certainly, the tightest! With large conifers lurking on both sides of the fairway 200 yards from the tee,the smart play is to hit a fairway wood or long iron to lay up, leaving a short iron to the green. It’s a birdie chance but surrounded by danger. Par is a good score.12Hole 12 Long and arrow straight the 12th is the longest par 4 at 459 yards from the Whites.The undulating fairway can make your second shot tricky and a green sloping in several directions means that a 2 putt is welcome.13Hole 13 A tricky par 3 with a long narrow green and bunkers short and on both sides.Hitting the green is a must if you re to achieve your par. Watch out for the subtle borrows in the green – they are bigger than they look.14Hole 14 From the Whites and Yellows this is the only par 5 on the course.Longer hitters can certainly reach in two shots, but keeping the ball in play is vital. The ideal line from the tee is over the corner of the gorse, just right of centre, with a se15Hole 15 A tough driving hole that ideally requires a slight fade.The second shot is downhill so will always play a club shorter. Make sure you avoid the grass bunkers that lie short of the green as these are not visible from the fairway.16Hole 16 A slight dogleg right, surrounded by trees and gorse.The ideal line off the tee is straight at the conifer on the left edge of the fairway. Longer hitters may cut the corner by hitting over the copse, but beware of the ditch crossingThe green slopes considerably from back to front, so keep the ball below the flag.17Hole 17 One of the toughest tee shots on the course, playing through a funnel of trees onto a generous fairway.There is more room left than you think, as anything right will be caught up in the ditch or even find the out of bounds. A fairly flat green awaits your approach but the four well 18Hole 18 A pretty hole to finish but also a potential card-wrecker!Hit over the lake to the green, but also avoid the stream which runs across the front and to the left. Take a par and walk off with a smile!
