Despite there being no fairway bunkers on this hole, a flat lie is a luxury and the hole often plays into wind.3The first par 3 on the course, this hole features an elevation change which makes it play downhill, and less daunting than the yardage suggests.A slight draw on the treeline will give you the best chance of finding the green.4The first hole in the Lochgelly “Amen Corner”, this par 4 is a perfect risk and reward hole.Bigger hitters may take the green on from the tee, meanwhile, the more conservative play is to find the corner of the dog-leg and leave just a wedge into the green.5One of the signature holes, this short par 3 offers a great chance of a birdie, although,careful placement from the tee is vital. It’s often said that a 20ft putt uphill is easier than a 3ft putt downhill on this green, therefore leaving an uphill putt is strongly ad6The last leg of the Lochgelly “Amen Corner”, this tricky par 4 often plays a lot harder than its yardage suggests. A tee shot that favors a high fade, it’s vital to avoid the7Another signature hole, the 7th hole features a fantastic tee shot with out of bounds on the right and a gathering of trees within range on the left.The safe play is to aim for the left handside of the fairway, which will open up the best angle into the double green which is shared with the 16th hole.The safe play is to aim for the left handside of the fairway, which will open up the best angle into the double green which is shared with the 16th hole.8A favourite amongst both members and visitors,the 8th hole stands out due to the pond that guards the front edge of the green, and the stone cairn that provides an excellent line from the tee.9The front nine is rounded off with a tricky par 3, which leaves no room for error on wayward shots.Miss left and you can be out of bounds, miss right and you face an awkward flop shot onto the green.10A par 3 that is trickier than it looks, you’ll often play this hole into a stiff breeze, so clubbing up is recommended. It’s often difficult to spot the danger on this hole fro11A hole that will test your accuracy off the tee,thread one down the middle and you’ll find the narrow fairway and open up an inviting approach shot, slice one to the right and you’ll be blocked out by the trees.12With a water hazard, two fairway bunkers, and a narrow fairway with trees on either side, the 12th hole is a perfect opportunity to take a more conservative approach off the tee, a13A driveable par 4 that favors those who can hit a slight fade,in order to cut the ball over the cluster of trees that separate it from the previous fairway. Anything right of the fairway will leave an awkward approach.14Your tee shot is played down a narrow corridor of trees, that opens up into a dog-legged fairway.Aiming down the left-hand side of the fairway, or even finding the previous fairway, will open up the best angle to the green.15The previous hole required a fade off the tee, the 15th requires a draw. Hitting driver over the trees will leave just a flick with a wedge, but the more conservative play is to ta16Despite featuring a blind tee shot, there is plenty of space over the brow of the hill. Aiming slightly down the right-hand side is advised as you’ll likely get a friendly kick d17The last par 3 on the course,the green isn’t revealed until you’ve made your way to the top of the hill, your only line off the tee will be provided by the top of the flag. Clubbing up is advised to allow 18The final hole of your round features a testing tee shot with a water hazard and a bunker within driving distance.
