The four bunkers influence your decision-making for the 3Three principal options are available: play shortto the left or over the fairway bunker on the right side. All come with “risk vs. reward” values depending on the location of the flag.4The preferred line-of-attack remains right of center to eitherthe lower front third or larger rear deck of the green.5Check the pin sheet as this longgreen can be up to a two-club length difference from the front to the rear.6Approach shots can be launched high right at the flag or onthe ground to the three main zones of the green.7If the flag is located on the slightly lower left-side tier, the green contouring rewards anapproach over the center of the green that will be carried to the left.8While there are several options, it is imperative to decide on yourbest fairway position to approach the green and commit. Drive short of the fairway bunker lurking in the shadows of the redwoods or take your bold line over this bunker to the left9Tee shots best favor the right side and avoid the dual bunker and target pot bunker along the right side, whether it is your tee shot or second shot.10For the best angle into the green favor the right-hand side ofthe fairway on your drive, but avoid the new bunker added to the right side.11Golfers will need to navigate several features such as the links-stylefairway undulations, collection hollows on both sides of the approach,and two new sand bunkers that bracket the enlarged green.12Two bunkers short right side and one large bunker front left ofthe green influence either your approach shot set-up or getting home in two.13Improvements from tee to green have given this hole new personality,rom the enlarged tee complex to the fairway landing area which has been completely reshaped to provide left and right fairway deck options to hold tee shots for more advantageous aThe renovated green complex features a number of new characteristics, such as a sideboard ridge that slopes into the green from the left and sets up a challenging pin location back14Place your drive left of center to allow the slope to feed the ball towardsthe center or right for the preferred angle into the green.15Well-placed tee shots through the gentle ramp on the left side of the complex must navigate past the left and right bunkers, but be mindful of the collection hollow back left.16Play to the widest part of thefairway short and left or risk a more aggressive line towards the target bunker and past the grass hollows inside the dogleg.17Players have true risk versus reward options on their tee shot. Play short or to the right of the fairway bunker tucked into the corner of the dogleg or attempt to carry the bunkerthe fairway bunker tucked into the corner of the dogleg or attempt to carry the bunker for a shorter approachto the two-level green protected by three bunkers fronting the green to the steep fall-off back right.18Play the hole as a true 3-shot par 5 and lay up short of the sand bunkers on the right while avoiding the left grass hollow.Or take the driver out and deliver an accurate shot that may catch the prevailing wind, bringing either of the two farther fairway bunkers into play.
