1Hole 1 is a straightaway Par 5 at 475 yards.A drive down the right center of the fairway works best. Your 2nd shot is either a layup shot down the right side, landing area tilts left, or a gutsy go for it in two opportunity.The green is small, it will take a 7 iron thru wedge well and also slopes left. The front of the green falls off sharply so stay below the cup.2Hole 2 is a tough Par 4 at 424 yards. To reach the green in 2 shots, it is critical to have an inthe fairway drive. Even then you are challenged with a lie of the ball on a downslope. For those who are meek or missed the fairway, laying up to the water hazard before the green Water channels to the left of the green and front and rear bunkers demand notice. The green is large and flat and very receptive to all shots.3Hole 3 is a demanding Par 3 over water at 161 yards.Bunkers and fescue left mean the right side is your target area. The green slopes from back to front severely and demands you stay beneath the cup or succumb to 3 plus putts.4Hole 4 is a blind shot to the green hole. A Par 4 at 331 yards it doesn't look intimidating but commands respect.The Classic Ross bunker in the middle of the upslope off the tee gives you a perfect aiming point. With bunkers left and bunkers and fescue and out of bounds right, it's best to go5Hole 5 is a downhill to uphill Par 4 at 330 yards.Best to avoid the right side off the tee, with a large tree and rough bunker, and avoid the left side going into the green, a bevy of hillside bunkers. Green is a slight uphill gra6Hole 6 is a straight out Par 3 at 189 yards.The Bunkers right and left frame the best shot, front center of the green. Out of Bounds lurks on the right and the green can be slippery fast.7Hole 7 is a slight dogleg right Par 4 at 371 yards with Out ofBounds,fairway bunkers and pines going down the right side. The target oak on the left center is your driving target.The shot to the green should be to the center to avoid bunkers left and right and a green that narrows in the back.8Hole 8 is a dogleg left Par 4 at 383 yards. Be careful not to go thru the fairway on the tee shot.A signature Donald Ross as the one hole with no bunkers. The second shot to the green is slightly uphill and the green is large. A little more club will help you get closer to the 9Hole 9 is a risk and reward Par 5 at 488 yards. It doglegs right off the tee and slightly right into the green.Fairway undulations abound thru out the hole. There is no shame in playing safe the entire way.There is a lot of risk going for the green in 2 shots. Left of the green falls off slightly while right of the green is a huge drop off. The choice is yours. The green tilts from r10Hole 10 is an uphill Par 4 at 344 yards. With Out of Bounds left and right,and bunkers left and right, the center of the fairway is a must play. An uphill 2nd shot demands proper feel to this mostly undulating false front green.Best to just get on the green as short rolls down the hill and long drops off severely. Take your 2 putts and walk off happy.11Hole 11 is a slightly uphill Par 4 at 385 yards. Your drive should be left center to avoid the Out of Bounds on the right.Your shot into the green,that slopes in the middle to the right, needs to be accurate for a better putt. The green is surrounded left, right and over with bunkers, avoid them, espe12Hole 12 is a downhill Par 3 at 124 yards.The green is uphill front to back and can provide challenging side hill putts. Bunkers surround the green and attacking the pin may not be as good an idea as the center of the gree13Hole 13 is a short Par 4 at 316 yards.A tee shot short left center avoids a bevy of bunkers and a left to right tilted fairway.The uphill green with a shelf moving right to left on the right side of the green makes left center a good target. You can try to drive the green,but, it assumes accuracy.14Hole 14 is a downhill tee shot Par 4 at 359 yards.This starts the demanding 5 finishing holes at Pocasset. There is plenty of room to place the tee shot to have a good shot to this elevated green. The green tilts severely left to 15Hole 15 is another typical Donald Ross Par 3 hole. A straight up the hill blind shot at 158 yards.The hole plays 1-2 clubs longer and the right side should be avoided as it drops off dramatically. The green is also uphill making downhill and sidehill putts very challenging.16Hole 16 is a beautifully rolling Par 5 at 479 yards.The hole beckons a long tee shot into the first valley. A lay-up into the 2nd valley works fine leaving you an uphill third shot. Going for the green in 2 is more than tempting if 17Hole 17 is an uphill dogleg left Par 5 at 521 yards. The tee shot needs to avoid water on the left and right.The 2nd shot needs to favor the right center to avoid side hill bunkers and fescue. The 3rd shot is an uphill blind shot to the green. The green slopes front to back with waves of 18Hole 18 is a straightaway demon Par 4 finishing hole at 398 yards. The tee shot should be right center to avoid Out of Bounds that runs the full length of the left side of thehole.The 2nd shot is slightly downhill with trouble from bunkers and rough on the left, right, and over the green.
