1A tricky opening hole where a good drive down the left side will leave a short iron and a chance for birdie.The most important thing to remember when playing this hole is that everything, including the green, slopes down from left to right.2A great par 3 where it is imperative not to miss on the left side or go long. The picture says it all!Basically, an iron shot to the right-centre of the green will never leave you too far off a birdie putt.3In yardage this isn't very long for the longest par 4 on the course, but with a constant incline from tee to green and rare assistance from the wind this hole does play as a true lIn yardage this isn't very long for the longest par 4 on the course, but with a constant incline from tee to green and rare assistance from the wind this hole does play as a true l4A hole where you can relax after the rigours of the tough 3rd!A straight drive avoiding the 2 fairway bunkers will leave a short iron with a good opportunity for a birdie.5A tee shot down the right side of the fairway to allow for the slope will place you in an ideal position for your lay up.Avoid the fairway traps with your lay-up should leave you with a pitch or short iron to a generous green.6Only the low handicapper should attempt the carry over the dogleg.Us mere mortals should aim to drive straight up to the corner of the dogleg, leaving a mid iron to a tough green to hit. Par is always a score to take here.7This uphill tricky par 4 requires an accurate drive to the corner of the dogleg.8One of the toughest holes on the course with out of bounds running down the left.A good drive is needed to hold the fairway, still leaving you with a bit of work and two choices of approach to the green.9A nice comfortable par 4 with a generous fairway and green.10This is Yeovil's signature hole with bunkers guarding short, left and right and out-of-bounds long. However, it's not that long, so a well struck middle iron should secure a par.11A straight, flat, long par 5 with out of bounds left and a line of tall established trees down the right.12This hole is definitely drive-able but only for the straight long-hitters as there is out-of-bounds left and thick rough long and right from the tee.13Length is the only reason that this hole is stroke index 18. Otherwise, it's a well-guarded par 3 with out of bounds left and the deep bunker you see above guarding the right side.14By a long way the most challenging hole on the Golf Course. Measuring 471 yards from the Competition tee,you will need to arrow your tee shot over the brow of the hill favouring the left side of the fairway.If you are not long enough from the tee you will be faced with a long iron or fairway wood to a sloping green guarded by bunkers. You will feel like a star – if you make par !!!!15We are now into the most spectacular holes on the course. This one's a giant par 3 to a very small target.16The picture shows what a great tee-shot this is. This is a very tight hole but definitely a two-shotter for the big hitters.When you get down there, the green slopes strongly from back to front making it quite easy to pitch the ball in and stop it quickly.17A par 4 with similar choices to the 10th at the Belfry.The longer hitters can try for the green with a wood but will the reward outweigh the risk! Most of us mortals will opt to play a mid iron to the bottom of the slope leaving a shor18A simple finishing hole in terms of what is in front of you.Play to the right side of the fairway to allow you a chance to see this long narrow green.
