A classic Stanley Thompson opening hole, you will begin your round at Niakwa with a short yet challenging dogleg par 4.

The tee shot favors a gentle right to left shot shape which opens up your approach shot to the green.

A deep challenging bunker protects the green and it is imperative that your second shot is on the correct side of the large ridge that runs through the center.

The first of five par 3’s, accuracy and distance control are essential for your tee shot to successfully hold this undulated green, which is well protected by bunkers.

A crisp iron shot to the centre of the green is the ideal play.

This long par 4 demands a long accurate tee shot that favors the left portion of the fairway in order to avoid the penalizing fairway bunker.

Walking away with a par here often feels like a birdie.

The fourth hole is a tight, challenging dogleg right which demands an accurate tee shot to the middle of the fairway.

A precise approach is required to a small green that is sloped from back to front and to the right.

Approach shots landing on the right portion of this green will feed off to a collection area which leaves the golfer with a delicate chip.

The par 3 fifth can be difficult due to the swirling wind conditions.

Take one extra club to ensure clearance of the front left bunker. The green has many subtle slopes, so take your time!

This par 5 has a large lake which lines the entire left side of the fairway.

The tee shot taunts you to hit driver in order to go for the green in two. Be careful, the water sneaks up quickly on any shots left of the fairway. Once in the fairway, you will be faced with a decision to go at the green or lay up for position. The approach demands precise yardage and club selection to this large elevated green.

The seventh hole is a relatively short par 4 with a challenging bowl-shaped green.

The longest of the par 5’s, it demands a straight tee shot to avoid the two strategically placed fairway bunkers on both sides of the fairway.

Place your second shot to the left side of the fairway in order to steer away from the bunkers lining the right side of the fairway.

The green is two tiered which slopes back to front. Distance control is key to leaving yourself with a makeable putt.

Take note of the flag on top of the apartment buildings to gauge wind conditions.

The first of back-to-back par 5’s to start the inward nine.

The conservative line is to the right of the big tree, leaving you with a relatively straight forward layup shot.

The more aggressive player will aim to the left of our signature Elm tree, allowing them go for the green in two. This small green features a subtle yet diabolical hump in the right middle portion.

The eleventh hole is a par 5 that can be reached if you are long and accurate off the tee.

This difficult green is sloped back to front and equipped with two collection areas; one in the back right and one in the back left. Par here is never a bad score.

The approach shot is significantly uphill and may require one to two extra clubs to reach the putting surface.

The green is large and complex, and traditionally falls towards the river.

A short par 3 with a large undulated green.

Evil lurks with water to the right and bunkers on the left and front right of the green. A great iron shot is rewarded with a makeable birdie putt…anything less will require you to dig deep to make a par.

An extremely tight par 4 lined with trees along the left and right side of the fairway.

The fairway slopes to the left, so you will need to favor the right side if you choose to hit driver.

The green has two tiers and slopes heavily back to front. Make sure you take one extra club on the approach, as all shots short will end up rolling back down the hill.

The final par 5 is the widest fairway on the back nine.

Longer hitters will have a very good chance at reaching this par 5 in two. Shorter hitters will be forced to layup to the right side of the fairway to avoid the water running along the left side of the hole.

Your tee shot on this reachable par 4 should favor the left side to avoid the challenging fairway bunker.

The deep green may call for an extra club or two when the pin is located in the back portion.

Undoubtably the best finishing hole in ManitO-Ba, the 18th demands your best tee shot of the day and should favor the right side of the fairway to avoid the left fairway bunkers.

On the approach shot, play for the centre of the green as trouble lurks all around. All shots to the front left of the green will roll off leaving a challenging pitch back up the hill.
