From The Tee One of toughest pars on the course (par 5 for the ladies). Rated 2nd most difficult opening hole in the UK by Golfshake.com.
From The Fairway
On The Green A slight dogleg left with sloping fairway right to left. The ideal tee shot should be shaped from right to left leaving a long to mid iron into a well-protected green. Approach shots dropping short of the green will usually kick left where trouble awaits. A par on this hole will feel like a birdie. Green runs right to left generally. Tip: when walking to the 2nd Tee, look at the 4th green for flag

From The Tee You can open your shoulders a bit more on this one. Sloping left to right and downhill,
From The Fairway a well stuck tee shot left of the fairway tree and avoiding the fairway bunker 50 yards behind it will give you an inviting view of the green.
On The Green Approaches dropping short will normally bounce right so left edge of green is a good target. Leaving yourself short right should be avoided. Be aware of the downward dip on the front third of the green as anything with pace can run off the back edge. Green runs left to right and front to back.

From The Tee A par on this hole and you will walk off the green a bit taller.
From The Fairway A relatively wide fairway to the eye but the right to left sloping fairway may usher your ball towards the well-placed bunker on the left.
On The Green Out-of-Bounds posts on the left also catch the eye forcing you to aim right where trees await. Finding the fairway may give you a shot at the long green. Do not be disappointed with a bogie.

From The Tee A redesigned Par 3 usually into the wind, and slightly uphill may make club selection tricky.
From The Fairway The prominent revetted bunker just off the back of the green might make you under club and fall short. An uphill ridge in the green will then have to be negotiated.
On The Green The two bunkers to the right of the green are to be avoided as is left and long with possible Out-of-Bounds awaiting. Make a 3 and be happy.

From The Tee A slight dogleg left to right.
From The Fairway The lone tree stands at around 235yards from the back tee and the fairway runs to the left, which narrows to about 14yards at that point.
On The Green Finding the fairway will open the approach into the 35Yards long green protected by a large bunker short right. Out-of-Bounds lurks just through the back. Play for the heart of the green which is relatively flat but slopes slightly front to back. Attacking a back/right flag is a brave shot.

From The Tee A gentle dogleg, right to left. Finding the fairway, short of the bunker at around 200yards is a
From The Fairway
On The Green wise play and will leave a short to mid iron to a raised green. The brave player may choose to clear the bunker and the ridge, but the trees on the left must be avoided for any hope of a par.

From The Tee The tee shot will grab your full attention. Left will block out the green and right…
From The Fairway well, good luck finding your ball (play a provisional). Aim to favour the right half of the fairway to open the green for your second shot.
On The Green The right bunker at around 180yards off the tee claims many errant tee shots. The green is 36yards front to back with an uphill ridge in the front third. Well protected by bunkers, left and right, the green slopes generally into the middle. Do not be tempted to attack a mid/right pin as the front/right bunker awaits. A par on the 14th is a great result. A bogey is not a disaster.

From The Fairway The best play off the tee is a right to left flight, following the fairway.
On The Green Long and right will be blocked out by trees. From the fairway, club selection is crucial if your second shot is to avoid the bunkers short right and left. The green is a gentle bowl with subtle undulations.

From The Tee A strong Par 3 to finish with Out-of-Bounds on or over the road to the left.
From The Fairway Do not rule out a driver if off the back tee, as the prevailing wind is off the left and against. On the green, a hollow, short/right will collect any balls and take off the green to the right.
On The Green From the front, the green runs left to right and slightly downhill. A three on this will make your refreshments in The Old Stables Restaurant or Fletchers Bar taste that little bit better.
