Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee A testing par 4 to start. A straight drive is required to the top of the hill to have any chance of reaching this green in regulation
From The Fairway From here the long narrow green is now visible, but it still requires a long iron or fairway wood to find the putting surface. Beware of anything fading right as a steep bank awaits.
On The Green
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A deceptive hole which requires a brave drive down the left side of the fairway avoiding the burn.
On The Green This still leaves a tricky approach to a blind green which plays longer than it looks.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee An excellent par 5 from the back tee which demands a good tee shot to clear the water
From The Fairway Care is needed on the second shot as the fairway bunkers await a misplaced lay up. Once avoided a birdie opportunity is available.
On The Green
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A challenging dogleg that requires an accurate tee shot threaded through the fairway bunkers
On The Green The ambitious should be wary of cutting too much of the corner as the O-B and bushes lurk. A good mid iron will now see you to the putting surface.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee Our signature hole. A picturesque par 3 running along the beach.
From The Fairway
On The Green This requires a good mid iron shot to a well guarded green. Club selection is important depending on the wind speed and direction on this exposed hole.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee A demanding par 4 which requires a long straight drive back over the pond to the top of the hill.
From The Fairway
On The Green The second shot will invariably be blind to a smallish green well guarded by bunkers short on the right. Walk off here with a par and it will feel like a birdie.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A deceiving shortish dog leg par 4 where an accurate tee shot to the left half of the fairway opens up the hole away from the trees.
On The Green This will leave an approach to a small undulating green. Take care not to underclub as the valley awaits in front and left.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee The shortest hole on the course but not without dangers
From The Fairway
On The Green Anything slightly misjudged to the well bunkered green will leave a tricky recovery in order to save par.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee A slight dog-leg par 4 back to the Clubhouse.
From The Fairway After avoiding the fairway bunkers a short but intimidating second shot awaits with OO-B and
On The Green Foxton Drive very close to the back edge of the green
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee A tough start to the back nine where a long straight drive is required but beware O-B is close by left and right.
From The Fairway From here there is still a lot of work to do on this demanding hole with a long iron/fairway wood shot. Leaving the green with a par is an excellent result
On The Green
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee An interesting par 3 up the hill it always plays a little longer than it looks.
From The Fairway
On The Green The large undulating green offers a further challenge when you get there.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee Accuracy off the tee is very important on this shortish par 4
From The Fairway
On The Green where the blind green is indicated by a large marker flag. A strategically placed tee shot to the marker on top of the hill avoids the bunkers and OO-B on the right. The green is now in full view for a short approach shot down the hill.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway An excellent par 5 up and over the brow of the hill, it demands a good tee shot to avoid the fairway
On The Green bunkers therefore the best option is to keep left, but beware the OO-B is close by. The bigger hitters can clear the left hand bunker. Your drive will determine your next shot as more fairway bunkers look. However, two of your very best could get you near and a birdie chance.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway Another hole that demands an accurate tee shot to the left half of the fairway avoiding the bunkers.
On The Green Anything fading right will end up down the hill and in the trees. The shortish second shot is to a narrow long green where three putts are often seen
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee A tough climb to the top of the course but the views are worth it when you get there
From The Fairway A tee shot to the right half of the fairway, the line is the left side of the pill box, opens up the green.
On The Green With OO-B very close right and large bunkers awaiting anything going left an accurate second to the green is needed.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This hole starts the home stretch. A par 5 with OO-B hugging the fairway from tee to green down the right hand side it provides an intimidating challenge from start to finish.
On The Green A long straight drive will bring the green to within range or if not two accurate shots will provide a birdie opportunity. The hole runs alongside the 6th of our neighbours Alnmouth Village Golf Club
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee A difficult par 3 to keep your score going as you approach home.
From The Fairway
On The Green Depending upon the wind, club selection can be anything up to a driver from the back tees to a well protected green
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee An excellent finishing hole with the Clubhouse in sight.
From The Fairway It is important to avoid the fairway bunkers with your drive.
On The Green With the Clubhouse behind a valley in front of the large green, club selection is vitally important in the quest for that closing par. You can now relax sitting outside at the 19th watching your fellow golfers come home. We hope you enjoyed the experience and see you again soon
