Hole Name
From The Tee The 1st hole starts with a classic par 3 like Royal Lytham St Annes and Walton Heath. Playing from an elevated tee next to the clubhouse this challenging hole generally plays with the prevailing wind.
From The Fairway Bunkers protect the green at the front and sides with out of bounds not too far away on the right.
On The Green There are few better feelings than starting your round watching a good shot land on this green. An excellent start to an excellent course.

Hole Name
From The Tee One of the longer holes is the 2nd hole which is relative straight offering lots of room to the left hand side with the out of bounds on the right.
From The Fairway There are no fairway bunkers to contend with but good position from the tee is paramount with the approach to the green well-guarded by bunkers on both sides.
On The Green The green is large with a tier at the back and a slope on the front and a good shot to the centre of the green always welcome. A good tee shot will make all the difference on this hole.

From The Tee
From The Fairway A hole for the tactician. A relatively short hole that has a ridge running across the fairway just over 200 yards from the tee before sweeping down through some dunes in front of the green.
On The Green Longer hitters may risk hitting through the dunes to offer an easy pitch to the green or you can play safe from the tee giving a longer shot to a green protected by two bunkers at the front and some dunes to the left. If played well a definite birdie opportunity.

Hole Name
From The Tee A classic dog leg par 4 with bunkers guarding the corner of the dogleg before an accurate approach is required to a green set in front of a copse of trees.
From The Fairway A brave tee shot cutting the corner of the dogleg offers a better line into the green with greenside bunkers covering the approach from the right-hand side.
On The Green Generally played into the prevailing wind a good drive on this hole helps enormously.

From The Tee
From The Fairway The first par 5 at Ashburnham offers a good birdie chance. A straight hole with a generous fairway with two bunkers on the left-hand side and out of bounds to the right to catch the wayward shots. The green itself offers great character.
On The Green Undulating and relatively small position on the approach is paramount with playing directly up the green making it much easier. A delicate chip, potentially over a bunker, will be required if your approach goes to the sides. An enjoyable hole where shots can be picked up.

Hole Name
From The Tee The 6th hole is probably one of the most natural and tough par 3’s in the country.
From The Fairway The green is set into the side of a dune with the green feeding towards a slope on the right.
On The Green It presents an inviting challenge to the player on the tee shot and a good shot is highly rewarded. There are few better feelings than scoring well on this superb par 3.

Hole Name
From The Tee The 7th hole is an inviting short par 4 with a well-protected green with bunkers to the front and a small dune to the left.
From The Fairway A straight hole that offers longer hitters the option of a short approach, however, the fairway narrows as you progress down the hole and increases the risks with the dunes on the left and out of bounds on the right. A good strategic par 4 which can yield a good score.

Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A classic par 5 which makes the golfer think about how to play the hole.
From The Fairway A generous fairway awaits before a sharp dogleg 150 yards from the green over dunes requires a choice of hitting to the corner or taking on more risk and hitting over the dunes.
On The Green The large green is set beautifully at the base of some sand dunes. Do you risk the shot over the dunes or try to get a birdie by getting up and down from the dogleg.

Hole Name
From The Tee A complete change in direction to the last 6 holes the 9th is one of the hardest par 4’s in Wales as well as being one of the most inviting to play.
From The Fairway A beautiful sweeping hole from right to left with a series of bunkers on the left-hand side protect against the corner being cut off.
On The Green The clever design sees a safe tee shot to the right-hand side offering the toughest approach to the green which also slopes from right to left. A tee shot on the left-hand side of this fairway can make all the difference.

Hole Name
From The Tee The back nine starts with a superb par 5. The fairway is generous and offers little trouble apart from a couple of bunkers on the left.
From The Fairway Fairway bunkers 100 yards from the green make a bad tee shot a bit harder but in trying to layup, however generally played with the prevailing wind this hole can offer a good score. Pleasing to the eye the hole invites you to hit a good shot.

Hole Name
From The Tee The 11th hole is quite a contrast depending upon which tee is played from.
From The Fairway The Championship tee requires a long tee shot whilst the regular tees can see players lay up on an undulating fairway before a short iron to the appealing green.
On The Green The tee shot attacks the fairway at an angle requiring an accurate shot, however, safety lies on the left with the 5th hole adjacent. A good par 4 that can test all types of shots.

From The Tee The newest hole on the course, the short par 4 12th winds its way between two dunes systems in a dogleg from right to left.
From The Fairway The trickiest green on the course it is beautifully set back with a slight rise to the front of the green to collect shots that fall short and various slopes on the rest of the green that is difficult to read.
On The Green A short par 4 that can bite back but if a good approach played can offer a birdie opportunity.

From The Tee The quality of the par 3’s at Ashburnham continues with this beautiful hole.
From The Fairway Playing from an elevated tee this fairly short hole requires the tee shot to be played over an old road to a green set down slightly with dunes surrounding it to the back and right.
On The Green Bunkers offer a hazard towards the front but the dunes at the back can help collect longer shots. The wind plays a factor on the hole and it is thrilling to see a nicely struck shot fly against the sky and land on this generous green.

Hole Name
From The Tee The 14th is the final par 5 on the course. A line of dunes needs to be negotiated to play from the first half of the fairway to the second.
From The Fairway The greens complex is set in one of the most natural arenas. Dunes surround the green with a narrow approach the only access to any ball not being flown all the way.
On The Green The angle of the approach gives importance to the position of the second. All in all a classic par 5.

From The Tee Not one for the faint-hearted. This tough par 4 is laid out before you.
From The Fairway The ridge in the fairway, the dune encroaching from the right and the green itself set back into an old quarry which towers around the green.
On The Green Beautiful as it is daunting it is a hole that you will remember.

From The Tee The most spectacular hole at Ashburnham. The tee shot offers a panoramic view of the Gower peninsula and course stretching out before you.
From The Fairway The hole itself offers the player a shot to a green well below the elevated tee which is set before an old small gauge railway line.
On The Green Wind direction plays an all-important part in club selection but to hit a good tee shot onto the green here is thrilling.

From The Tee Adjacent to the second hole and similar in length the 17th offers a generous tee shot with all the trouble of the right. A straight hole with a ditch running down the right next to the railway embankment a good tee shot is paramount.
From The Fairway Play safe to the left and the approach to a relatively narrow green is made difficult with bunkers protruding from the green on this side. A tough but rewarding hole if played well.
