Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee Our course opens with a dogleg right, 342 yards off the green tees. In general your tee shot will be played into a stiff head wind. The corner is at 190 yards off the tee.
From The Fairway This area runs almost the full length of the fairway. Please note that is forbidden to play from within this area. Your second concern is a water hazard about sixty yards from the front of the green.
On The Green If you are thinking of cutting the corner and going for the green off the tee, there are two dangers to be aware of. Firstly, there is an internal Out Of Bounds on your right off the tee.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee There is Out Of Bounds all the way down on the left side of the fairway, and a lateral water hazard at approximately 230 yards off the tees.
From The Fairway Careful choice of club for your tee shot is essential here.
On The Green A good drive with a tail wind can land you in the water! A good club choice here is a 3-wood, leaving your ball in a good lie for your approach shot over the water.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee The 3rd looks easier than it is. Your tee position is up-hill, playing across a dip to a fairway with bunkers left and right, carefully positioned to catch a good drive.
From The Fairway Trees left and right will catch any slices and hooks. The fairway curves right after the dip, which tends to force players to a slice off the tee. Your best play here is to aim for left of centre of the fairway.
On The Green The approach shot is uphill to a green guarded by a large bunker on the right.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee The 4th plays slightly downhill to a wide fairway with a bunker on the right and trees left and right. A lateral water hazard at about 250 yards off the tee makes driver a questionable choice.
From The Fairway Smart players tend to go with a 5 iron or a lofted rescue to layup centre of the fairway near the bunker.
On The Green This gives the ideal lie and position for the approach to the green. Anything beyond that puts the ball on a tough downhill lie, or in danger of getting wet.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee This is the first of two great par 3 holes on the front 9. The green is slightly below the tee, and this hole tends to play with the wind, and slightly shorter than its yardage.
From The Fairway The fairway runs down to the green, and in summer conditions the smart play is to land short of the green and run the ball up to the pin. In wetter conditions, go for the pin!
On The Green and in summer conditions the smart play is to land short of the green and run the ball up to the pin. In wetter conditions, go for the pin!
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee Your 2nd shot is over the lateral water hazard to a generous fairway protected by a fairway bunker on the left.
From The Fairway This is a tough par 5, which usually plays into a strong wind. At the horizon the fairway runs downhill, and a good drive that catches the brow will gain extra yards in summer condtions.
On The Green A well played 2nd shot will easily leave you in good position for your approach.

From The Fairway This long par 4 can be deceptive. The tee is elevated and plays over a lateral water hazard to an uphill fairway protected by a bunker on The left, and trees left and right.
On The Green Catch the brow of the hill in the centre of the fairway and you have only 150 yards to the green.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee This is the 2nd par 3, and it’s a challenging one. The green is two- tiered, and if the pin is on the back upper tier, the hole is quite long.
From The Fairway
On The Green Bunkers left and right will catch anything short of the green, and as this hole usually plays into the wind, landing short is quite possible.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee A tree line down the right will catch any slices. But play straight down the fairway and catch the hill and you can walk away with a good par or birdy to close your front 9.
From The Fairway The closing hole on the front 9 is an excellent test. There is Out Of Bounds on the left, and the fairway sinks into a hidden dip with water hazards left and right.
On The Green A tree line down the right will catch any slices. But play straight down the fairway and catch the hill and you can walk away with a good par or birdy to close your front 9.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee The back 9 has a very different character to the front 9, and will especially suit long-hitters.
From The Fairway The 10th plays downhill to a lateral water hazard at around 200 yards.
On The Green Long-hitters can go for the green here, but the smart play is lay-up before the water with an iron or lofted rescue.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee The tee shot is slightly uphill. Catch the top of the hill in the centre to give yourself a good approach.
From The Fairway The fairway curves slightly left at the top of the hill, and opens into a very generous fairway.
On The Green This is the index 2 hole, a long par 4, that tends to play into a stiff breeze.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee Although this hole is index 18 for the ladies and index 17 for the gents, it can be difficult to walk away with a par, as you’ll see when you come to take your approach.
From The Fairway Play your drive down the centre of the fairway and catch the hill to gain extra yards. Beware the fairway bunker on the left, positioned to catch long drives.
On The Green Long-hitters can be close to this green off the tee.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee This is the first of two par 5s, and it’s the easier of the two.
From The Fairway With the wind a good drive will place the ball centre of the fairway at the brow of the hill, just right of the tree in the centre. There is a fairway bunker on the left to catch anything short left off the tee.
On The Green
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee At 514 yards off the back tees, this is a challenging hole and a potential card wrecker. The tee shot is to an up-slope protected by bunkers left and right.
From The Fairway t the brow the fairway curves gently left, mirroring the curve of the 14th.
On The Green Get your drive to the brow and you’ll have a good view of the pin down the slope. From the brow you’ve still got a long way to go. Getting on in 3 here is excellent.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee This is the first of two par 3s. and the first of three excellent closing holes.
From The Fairway It’s quite a long shot off the tee to a well-guarded green. There are four bunkers in play here, two at the front, and one each on the left and right sides of the green.
On The Green The green slopes towards you, so land short of the pin to give yourself an uphill putt to take birdy or par.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee This par 4 has Out Of Bounds on the right, and a tree line on the left, so accurate driving is essential.
From The Fairway There are two fairway bunkers on the left on the up-slope, so play down the middle or even slightly right to give yourself the best chance
On The Green Your tee shot is downhill, but a long-hitter can make it over the dip at the end of the hill and onto the flat for an easier approach.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee Place your tee shot past these bunkers and your in for a shot at par.
From The Fairway Our last par 4 gives a generous fairway, protected left and right by bunkers.
On The Green
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The green is protected by a bunker on the left and it slopes back to front. As this hole usually plays into a stiff breeze it can be quite a tough tee shot from the elevated tee.
From The Fairway You will need to fully commit to your shot here to get on the green and avoid getting wet.
