Barton Hills Country Club Golf Course Map /Barton Hills Country Club Golf Holes Map Barton Hills Country Club Golf Course Review in Ann Arbor, MI in 48105
From The Tee The opening hole is a challenging uphill Par 4 with a slight dog-leg left.
From The Fairway Two strong bunkers on the left guard the line of play from the tee but this fairway is one of the widest on the course.
On The Green A player is faced with a medium to long approach into one of the biggest greens guarded by bunkers on the right. The green has some intricate breaks and most Barton Hills members will tell you the greens break toward Stein Road.
From The Tee One of many scenic holes on the course.
From The Fairway Your tee shot needs to be positioned on the right center of the fairway in line and just short of the fairway bunker to avoid out of bounds, which runs tightly along the left side of the fairway
On The Green Your options are to play your second shot between the fairway bunkers or try for the green in two on this beautiful Par 5.
From The Tee The #1 handicap hole on the course requires an aggressive draw off the tee to help shorten your approach.
From The Fairway
On The Green Tee shots hit straight away or slightly right require a long approach bringing the left and right approach bunkers into play. Do your best to stay away from the greenside bunkers guarding the right side by approaching this green from the center or left side. A swale runs through the front portion of the green and most of the slope runs from the back left through the front right
From The Tee This is a typical Donald Ross short Par 4 with multiple options off of the tee
From The Fairway A blind fairway bunker is positioned on the right and the approach bunkers in view only come into play for the longer hitter. Be sure to take an extra club into the green as this hole plays uphill on the approach.
On The Green The green is large sloping back to front and surrounded by deep bunkers but very accessible and open in front.
From The Tee The first Par 3 on the course demands extreme accuracy with a short iron.
From The Fairway
On The Green Players may realize what once appeared easy from the tee becomes an easy bogey or double bogey. The green is guarded on all sides by deep bunkers and slopes from the back right to the front left. Recovery to save par from most greenside bunker positions is difficult and a ball not placed on the green below the hole is an easy three putt.
From The Tee This Par 4 is a short right to left dogleg with a blind hazard located 80-110 yards short of the green.
From The Fairway For best results position your tee shot between the four fairway bunkers leaving a short to mid iron approach.
On The Green The smart play on the approach is to land short and let the ball release onto a green that slopes front to back and has a soft ridge running through the middle of the green.
From The Tee This dog-leg left Par 4 demands a long tee shot to set up a mid-iron approach to an undulating green.
From The Fairway Fairway bunkers guard the landing area with little chance to reach the green from the deep fairway bunker on the left. Bunkers guard both sides of the green and a deep bunker awaits shots that roll over the back.
On The Green Pin locations on this green can be severe and the open approach in the front has a false front.
From The Tee The second Par 3 offers a variety of options from the tee and plays considerably easier than it looks
From The Fairway
On The Green A long iron approach to the left center or back left corner of this green will work the ball into the middle and back right portion of the green. Be careful not to miss your ball to the left as the greenside bunker is deep with the slope of the green running downhill and away. The front bunker on the right appears to be closer to the green but you have plenty of room to try a run up shot to any fr
From The Tee This hole is the first of back – to – back Par 5’s with an excellent chance for birdie.
From The Fairway Be sure to avoid the deep fairway bunkers on the right off the tee and carefully position your second shot to set up your approach to this green.
On The Green The short third shot approach presents the real challenge on this hole with a unique raised portion in the center of the green which Barton members have come to call the “Top Hat.” A player has numerous options and angles but must choose wisely and execute the proper shot to get close to the hole or face an easy three putt. Regardless of how you feel about the hole the entire group is sure to deba
From The Tee The shortest Par 5 on the course playing downhill with an excellent chance to reach the green in two for the long hitter.
From The Fairway Be sure to avoid the deep cross bunkers that tighten at the crest of the hill and be careful on your second shot approach as a large pond awaits shots to the left and in front of the green. Two blind approach bunkers await layup shots positioned right of the fairway.
On The Green The green is protected on the right by a large turf ridge and to the left with a small swale and slopes gently making putts run fast from left to right.
From The Tee Take the head cover off of your fairway wood or hybrid as this is the longest Par 3 on the course.
From The Fairway Two approach bunkers cause a player’s eyes to wander and the greenside bunkers are sure to catch any weak shot played to the right.
On The Green Plenty of green exists on the left and the severe slope will work your approach toward the front or middle portion of the green. A swale in the middle of this green makes the player feel there is a second green existing to the right rear from the tee so stay committed to your approach to the middle of the green.
From The Fairway Another great short Par 4 with options off the tee and a generous fairway to the right if you avoid the hazard left and the fairway bunkers staggered along the right
On The Green A short approach to this two tiered green awaits with a green that slopes back to front and is surrounded once again by deep bunkers on both sides.
From The Fairway A long straight tee shot is required to avoid the deep fairway bunker to the left or trees on the right. The big cross bunker in front presents a blind tee shot but rarely comes into play.
On The Green Two approach bunkers come into play for weaker approach shots hit offline. The green appears large but has a false front with severe slopes on the front right and left and falls off sharply in the back and right side.
From The Fairway This straight forward Par 4 is deceptive off the tee because a tee shot that misses just right of the fairway has a large tree to contend with on the approach
On The Green A blind fairway bunker awaits any drive pulled slightly left and is in line with the fore bunker you see from the tee. The approach is wide open in the front and the green slopes to the right causing most putts to break hard toward Stein Road. Be careful to attack any back pin locations because a deep bunker awaits any shot that is played long or gets rolling too fast as it will most certainly rol
From The Tee Placing your drive on this left to right dogleg presents numerous options off the tee as you will most certainly be faced with an uneven lie for your approach.
From The Fairway Players playing up the left side can use the upslope for their approach but will be required to hit a longer second shot. Drives played down the right center will funnel to the lower and more flat position of the fairway but watch out for the fairway bunker on the right.
On The Green The approach shot continues the challenge as it plays uphill to a green that slopes severe from back to front with deep bunkers short right and over this green. Do your best to keep your ball under the hole because any downhill putt is likely to run off the front.
From The Tee An intimidating mid to long iron approach over the valley leads to a green which slopes hard from back to front and left to right along the greenside ridge.
From The Fairway
On The Green Be sure to take enough club to avoid the deep approach bunkers in front and watch that you do not miss long in the deep back bunker. This hole is almost all carry to the green and has another false front.
From The Fairway This long straight away par 4 challenges you off the tee with the decision to challenge the ridge running diagonally through the middle of the fairway.
On The Green Longer drives placed up the right side will be rewarded with an open view of the green but out of bounds lurks close to the right. Drives played down the middle will be faced with a blind uneven lie approach and shots played too far left must avoid the deep fairway bunkers. Your approach is wide open in front for a nice run up shot or you can try to carry a long iron or wood to the center of the g
From The Tee The finishing hole offers you a view of the clubhouse and helps a player pick the proper line off the tee.
From The Fairway Three deep cross bunkers are positioned 100 yards from the tee and a fairway bunker sits on the left to catch drives missing the fairway slightly to the left.
On The Green The approach shot will require an extra club to be played uphill to one of the biggest greens on the course. Don’t be fooled by the approach bunkers you see in front as they are removed far from the open front of this green but watch out for the deep bunkers that line both sides of the green. A good approach played to the left or center of the green can use the left to right slope to their advanta
