Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee The opening tee shot is a forced carry over the tranquil Lynnhaven Inlet that can be daunting to the untrained eye.
From The Fairway Once you pass that first hurdle, a generous landing area in a very large fairway sets up variety of different options to approach this elevated green.
On The Green Most of the left side of this Medium Length Par 4 is well guarded with challenging rough and bunkers.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee The beautiful Pleasure House Natural Area can be seen all along the left side of this fairly long but lovely Par 3.
From The Fairway
On The Green The wind almost always comes into play on this hole, so make sure you gauge it wisely. Bail out options are available to the short, right of this very large green. 3 is a great score on this hole.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee Fazio lets you catch your breath a little bit on this shortish Par 4.
From The Fairway Plenty of room in this fairway to attack a fairly large, flat green.
On The Green However, lots of heavy, hilly rough and bunkers guard this green to provide some solid defense. This hole would be considered a scoring opportunity for most.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee A very straightforward Par 5 that is rather scoreable if played smartly. Longer hitters should feast on this hole while the shorter, more accurate player should also have a good birdie opportunity.
From The Fairway The left side of this hole is guarded by a huge, lowered fairway bunker and lots of hilly native grass. Avoid these, and you should do just fine on this hole.
On The Green
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee The shortest hole on the course provides a nice view of some of the contours at Bayville Golf Club.
From The Fairway
On The Green Depending on the wind, a mid to short iron should be used to attack most hole locations on this left to right sloping green. You may want to show a little caution as many golf balls have become “Fish Food” to the detriment of the golfer but to the delight of the Largemouth Bass.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee Be careful on this hole! Fazio teases you with another seemingly reachable Par 5. Trouble lurks everywhere on this hole that can severely damage your ego and your scorecard.
From The Fairway Native grass, heavy rough, and tons of sand are waiting to swallow errant tee shots and second shots of those players trying to “get a shot back” on this hole.
On The Green Three solid shots and 2 solid putts are usually more than good enough on this outstanding Par 5.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee A brute of a Golf Hole! This lengthy Par 4 is pretty straightforward just REALLY long.
From The Fairway A hill to left of the green can be used to help funnel your approach shot toward the hole.
On The Green A very large narrow green awaits you if you can get there in time. 5 is usually a good score on this beast.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A tight tee shot can make this shorter Par 4 play tricky. Trouble lurks both left and right if you miss with your tee ball.
From The Fairway
On The Green A small green that is well guarded should be attacked but with some slight caution. Lots of numbers can come into play on this fantastic hole.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee Most would consider this a birdie hole.
From The Fairway The right side of this fairway is the proper position to attack this very shallow green.
On The Green From there, you have a short iron or wedge to attack the Pin on this short Par 4. Do not miss long on this hole. Over the green is no fun at all.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway Trouble is all along the right side of this longer Par 4. The left side of the fairway should be favored to approach this very large green.
On The Green A small bail out is available short, left of this green as the rough short, right should be avoided at all costs. Play this hole conservatively.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee A gem of a shorter Par 4, the 11th at Bayville is seen by most players as a scoring opportunity.
From The Fairway A fairly generous fairway leads to a sloping left to right green. Short, left and long, right should be avoided on your approach shot to this green. A back, left hole location is definitely a “sucker pin” and should not be attacked.
On The Green
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee Arguably the best Par 4 on the course, #12 is a phenomenal golf hole for several reasons.
From The Fairway A slanted fairway makes your approach shot to this green quite tricky.
On The Green If you can escape this hole with a 4 or a 5, you should smile and sprint to the next tee.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee A pretty straightforward Par 3 that is lined all down the left side with beautiful Azaleas.
From The Fairway
On The Green In the springtime, this hole is quite majestic! Short of the green is usually okay as it is well guarded on the left, right, and long.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee The longer the tee shot the better as the approach shot on this medium length Par 4 is defended by 3 deep bunkers and a very shallow green. A small run up is available on the right side, but the worst rough on the course lurks just to the right of it. It must be avoided to have any hope of making a good score on this hole.
From The Fairway
On The Green
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole is a scoring opportunity. A good drive should leave most players with a shot at reaching this Par 5 in 2.
From The Fairway The entire right side of this hole is fairly guarded, so the left should be favored on every shot. This hole is often described as a “Bird Sanctuary” for a few different reasons.
On The Green
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee The Lynnhaven Inlet makes it’s second appearance on this magnificent Par 3.
From The Fairway
On The Green If you’re fortunate enough to hit this green with your tee shot, your work is only beginning as Fazio made this green harder to read than the original Dead Sea Scrolls. Don’t forget to take a glance at the Osprey nest just behind this green!
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee Another monster of a Par 4! The 17th at Bayville usually plays quite long and challenging.
From The Fairway A very generous fairway must be hit with your tee shot to have any chance of hitting this green in regulation.
On The Green Most players would gladly take a 5 on this hole.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The Home Hole. Fazio’s encore hole is a beauty of a Par 5.
From The Fairway A massive fairway bunker shoots all down the left side of this hole from about 220 yards all the way to the green.
On The Green Several other very penal bunkers are in play for both your lay up shot and if you’re brave enough to try to reach this green in 2. A smaller, back to front sloping green awaits you as you conclude your journey through the Links of Bayville Golf Club.
