Hole 1
Hole Name BLUESTEM
From The Tee A two tiered fairway and a dogleg left makes Hole #1 at Bent Tree a great way to start your round
From The Fairway Staying left and reaching the upper tier gives you the best approach to the green although a back pin gives you a blind shot
On The Green Go too far right and you’re in the high grass. Going too far left gives you more of the same. Even a very long straight tee shot can get you into some trouble on the hill. A well placed tee shot gives you only a short iron into the green
Hole 2
Hole Name LARKSPUR
From The Tee This magnifcent hole will test your accuracy from both the tee box and the approach
From The Fairway With out of bounds to the left and high prairie grass to the right, a well-placed tee shot is a must if you wish to score a birdie or par.
On The Green Longer hitters can use an iron off the tee. Shorter hitters can use a driver but don’t go too far. Be sure you have enough club on your approach shot as many a ball have come up short… and wet
Hole 3
Hole Name SUNFLOWER
From The Tee A long straight par 4 that requires a good tee shot
From The Fairway One bunker guards the left hand side, while three well placed bunkers guard the right
On The Green Play one extra club on your approach shot as this hole always plays longer than it looks. The green is sloped ever so slightly toward the fairway and requires a delicate touch should your approach shot be above the hole
Hole 4
Hole Name LOOSESTRIFE
From The Tee An excellent chance for birdie awaits on this par 5
From The Fairway if your tee shot can escape the six strategically placed bunkers that guard the fairway. A south wind makes this hole a real challenge while a north wind will allow you to possibly reach the green in two
On The Green Beware of the large bunker in front of the green which can collect many approach shots. The green is sloped from back to front. A back pin can make it difficult to get close
Hole 5
Hole Name FOXTAIL
From The Tee A relatively short par 3 that is heavily guarded on the right side by 5 bunkers
From The Fairway
On The Green Although the green is quite large, the slope makes it difficult to read. Accuracy is a must as an errant tee shot can leave you with a difficult chip. Gauging the wind on this hole can also be tricky
Hole 6
Hole Name ASTER
From The Tee A double fairway on hole # 6 gives golfers plenty of room for error off the tee although the hole plays much longer from the right side.
From The Fairway Splitting the fairways can leave you in some high grass making the approach shot to the green more difficult.
On The Green The green slopes away from the fairway and a front pin always makes it difficult to get close as the ball will tend to roll to the back of the green. Missing the green left or right leaves a difficult chip
Hole 7
Hole Name BUFFALO GRASS
From The Tee Hole #7 requires an accurate tee shot to a narrow fairway which slopes to your right
From The Fairway There is more room to the left than it looks from the tee box but if you go too far left, you may have difficulty finding your ball in the high rough. Tall prairie grass lines the entire right side of the fairway which makes it even more important to stay in the fairway
On The Green A long iron into a shallow green is the norm on this hole. A south wind can make things even more difficult
Hole 8
Hole Name COLUMNBINE
From The Tee No matter if you play #8 from the back, middle or front tees, this hole is one of the most demanding par 3s in the area
From The Fairway A shallow green makes it even more difficult to judge. A large bunker guards the left side along with several grass bunkers
On The Green Go too far right and you’re in the high prairie grass where your ball will be nearly impossible to find. When there is a strong south wind, even driver is not out of the question from the back tees
Hole 9
Hole Name BENT TREE
From The Tee The signature hole at Bent Tree Golf Club is a magnificent par 5.
From The Fairway A hazard runs along the entire left side of the hole. Tall prairie grass lines the right side but the fairway is wide enough to allow for a slightly errant tee shot
On The Green Three bunkers surround a large, very accessible green. A great birdie or eagle opportunity awaits if the wind conditions are right
Hole 10
Hole Name INDIAN GRASS
From The Tee Hole #10 is a uphill par 4 and the elevation change should be kept in mind for your second shot
From The Fairway This is one of the few holes at Bent Tree without sand traps. The fairway is quite wide but narrows as you get closer to the green.
On The Green A left edge tee shot gives you the clearest view of the green. The right side will give you a blind shot due to the large plateau that O-Bscures your view. The green has several undulations and it will test your putting skills.
Hole 11
Hole Name HONEYSUCKLE
From The Tee Let the fun begin. The next 4 holes will test every aspect of your golf game
From The Fairway Hole #11 is a long, straight par 4 that plays back to the south. Long hitters can reach the green easily in two, but shorter hitters may require three solid shots to get there.
On The Green The green slopes from right to left and is guarded by two large bunkers on either side. A south wind will make things even more difficult. Hope for a par but if not, take your bogie and move on
Hole 12
Hole Name CONEFLOWER
From The Tee Hole #12 is a spectacular par 5 that plays downhill all the way. Tee shot placement is key here
From The Fairway Too far left or right and you’re out of bounds. Hit the fairway with a nice little draw and you can roll a long way.
On The Green Going for the green in two is very possible but beware of the hazard on the right side near the green as the fairway slopes that direction. The green is protected by two large bunkers. Land in the back bunker, and you have a difficult up and down
Hole 13
Hole Name FOXGLOVE
From The Tee Hole #13 is a short but treacherous par 3. A shot hit just a little right and you’re either in one of three deep bunkers or down the hill in the high grass
From The Fairway A shot hit a little too long and you’re down another hill in the high prairie grass.
On The Green A shot hit a little too far left and you’re in some more trouble. The green has two tiers and a back pin makes it difficult to get close. Par is an excellent score on this hole
Hole 14
Hole Name BENT TREE
From The Tee Hole #14 is a dogleg left and a challenging par 4. Landing your ball on the left side of the fairway gives you the best angle to the green
From The Fairway Go too far right and you can watch your ball travel down a steep hill to a hazard on the right side. Tall prairie grass lines the entire left side of the hole with out of bounds near the green
On The Green The green slopes toward the fairway and is guarded by two bunkers. Despite all the O-Bstacles, birdies can be had here
Hole 15
Hole Name PRIMROSE
From The Tee A favorite amongst Bent Tree golfers is the par 5, hole #15. Enjoy the view as your ball travels from the lofty tee boxes down to the fairway below.
From The Fairway Beware of the massive trap that lies in the middle of a split fairway. Landing just left of the trap gives you the best angle to the green and getting there in two is not out of the question
On The Green Negotiating the large tree 100 yards from the green is always a challenge. A two tiered green makes any putt tricky
Hole 16
Hole Name WIND FLOWER
From The Tee Hole # 16 is a downhill, driveable par 4 that plays straight north.
From The Fairway Although #16 is a short hole, it is not as easy as it looks. Trouble awaits if your ball manages to find the small hill that runs along the left side of the hole
On The Green The right side is lined with high prairie grass as well. You may wish to play it safe and hit a mid iron from the tee. This will give you a short iron into a green that slopes from left to right and away from the fairway
Hole 17
Hole Name BLACK EYED SUSAN
From The Tee Take a moment to enjoy the spectacular view from the tee box on Hole #17 before you hit your tee shot
From The Fairway This hole is a relatively short par 4 and an excellent chance for birdie if you find the fairway. Two bunkers guard the right side of the fairway but there is plenty of room on the left.
On The Green A short iron is all that is needed for your approach. Although the green is large and relatively flat, missing left, right or long spells trouble
Hole 18
Hole Name WILD ROSE
From The Tee Hole #18 is a short but challenging par 3 and a great way to end your round at Bent Tree
From The Fairway short to mid iron is all that is needed but club selection is key here. Players must clear the water and trap to hit a shallow,
On The Green flat green that is surrounded by high prairie grass to the left and behind. Hit the middle of the green, and you have an excellent chance at birdie
