From The Fairway The shorter 405m Par 5 2nd hole can be reached in two if you hit it well. A slight dogleg to the right over the hill leads to a testing putting surface. Towering gum trees line the right side of the fairway while mallee trees grow along the left. Interesting mounds surround the green so try not to be long.

From The Tee The 3rd is an interesting 357m Par 4 – Hitting the fairway is crucial as the rough and trees on both sides can be tricky to recover from. Be accurate with your approach as the smaller green is testing to hit. Once on the green be wary of the innocent-looking slope and putting downhill can see shots lost.

From The Fairway The very long 4th hole is a straight 458m Par 5 and is our “Longest Drive Hole” on competition days for both the Men and Ladies. Get up and over the hill to find 2 fairway bunkers as you approach the large challenging green. The large bunkers on either side protect the green and make your approach accuracy important.

From The Tee The seemingly innocent 360m par 4 5th hole boasts a row of large pine trees to the right and massive Gum trees to the left. A dogleg to the left over the hill leads down to a lower-lying smaller green. Approach shot accuracy is key to achieving par, this green always looks flat but can deceive the best golfers.

From The Tee This Par 3 located in the heart of the front 9 looks innocent but the 148m 6th is a hole that demands respect. The deceiving length often leaves tee shots short to land amongst the mounds that lie in front of the green. Spectacular mallee trees line both sides of the fairway and lead the way to the challenging slopes of the green that make this hole a bit harder than it looks.

From The Fairway The par 4 364m 7th sees players tee off up a narrow opening to the wider fairway hill. Avoid the many established trees on the right and the mallee trees on the left. A dogleg left on starting at the top of the hill gives you a view of the green nestled between a bunker and more natural mallee trees and rough. A challenging green lies on a slope that makes for an interesting finish to the hole.

From The Fairway The Par 4 384m 8th tests all golfers. A long drive to the top of the hill often into the wind opens up the lengthy fairway looking down on a deceiving green. There is some space on either side if your drive doesn’t go to plan but mallee trees and rough aren’t far away. Two substantial bunkers surround a large green that appears to slope considerably causing many to misread it.

From The Fairway The 9th is a 309m Par 4 that meanders back towards the Club House to end the first half of your golfing experience. A challenging bunker placement on the left side of the fairway protects the left-hand side corner of the dogleg right. Avoiding that can set up a fantastic approach to a demanding two-tiered green, guarded by a bunker on the right.

Just left of the fairway is the awesome Big River Golf & Country Club’s Motor Inn Accommodation where golfers can stay and enjoy fantastic facilities right on the Golf Course. Hit straight down the fairway avoiding the bunker on the inside of the dogleg and the dense mallee trees. Try not to drive too far as the cleverly placed sand trap awaits you on the right. Hit up

A grassy mound is located midway up the hill on the left of the fairway near a line of native trees. The large rolling green demands respect and correct reading is important.

From The Fairway The 14th is a 381m par 4. Hit off at the bottom of the rise through a very narrow fairway that opens up and doglegs to the left at the top of the hill. Aim to just cut the corner to give yourself a chance at landing your drive on safe ground. The approach to a trying green seems easy but watch the mounds that surround the green and the pine trees that surround the left-hand side.
