Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee The 384 yard first hole slopes downhill, where a fairly straightforward tee shot,
From The Fairway just left of centre to allow for a second shot down the full length of the green.
On The Green The tee shot should be played just over the ridge and not too far, to avoid and O-Bstruction from the trees guarding the left hand side of the green.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee The 2nd hole is a 448 yard Par 4 that starts a challenging section to the golf course.
From The Fairway Driving to the top of the hill and getting a well positioned drive is a must, before the fairway slopes steeply away to the green below.
On The Green There are houses and out of bounds all the way down the left for your second shot. with a well guarded green that will challenge your course management and club selection to reap any rewards.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee The 3rd hole delivers instantly a long uphill drive to reach
From The Fairway the top of a hill to be able to see the green for your second shot. At 461 yards it’s a par 4 for the men but a par 5 for the ladies.
On The Green The second shot is straight ahead to the green, where a two tier slope is found sloping from front to back, which does help a well struck shot from long distance. A challenging hole where par is always a good score.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee The 4th Hole is a long par 3 that is always a treat to make par on.
From The Fairway At 210 yards the wind at your back is always welcome and the green generally slopes from left to right, so hitting the left half of the green is the best route to
On The Green the middle of the green. No bunkers to the left hand side gives some relief to a missed green, but beware as you then have to chip down the slope.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee Here is the 482 yard 5th Hole. A long and challenging Par 4 (Par 5 for ladies) where a good drive over
From The Fairway
On The Green the shoulder of the hill is a must to be able to reach the green in two, which is guarded by a stream that runs in front of the green. Come and take the challenge to make par or better!
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee As a general rule, whatever club you used off the 4th tee should be used again here at the 319 yard 6th Hole.
From The Fairway The ditch shouldn’t pose too many prO-Blems here but all golfers will play over it twice on route to the green.
On The Green A good drive should set you up for a simple second shot to a large green. Do note though that the 7th fairway to the right is out of bounds when playing the 6th hole.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee A straight away hole with out of bounds all the way down the left,
From The Fairway a straight drive rather than anything long will suffice nicely to set up your approach to the raised green.
On The Green At 330 yards it is not a long hole, but with the raised green take extra care to select the right club as many people tend to come up short and under club.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A 152 yard par three that you will have seen already on our home page.
From The Fairway The green has a steep slope in front so anything short will not make the green and you certainly don’t want to miss
On The Green the green to the right where the ball will kick away to the trees and long rough. Interesting point here is that the tee is sheltered so make sure you gauge the wind before hitting as it always effects the ball in flight over the brook.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee On the 285 yard 9th hole it is all important you keep away from the trees on the left to leave yourself a good angle to
From The Fairway the green which rests behind some large willow trees. A drive down the right hand side of the fairway will leave you no trouble in hitting up
On The Green the green which has banks all around the back and right to kick the slightly off line shot back to the green. Beware however, that a ditch lurks to the left of the green under the trees.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee The 10th hole is a great looking hole from the tee which sits above
From The Fairway the fairway and represents a great birdie chance. With even a still wind the longer hitters can hit
On The Green the green at just 278 yards with an elevated tee, but it is then a real risk and reward hole as trouble sits all around the green.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee The 11th hole is a fantastic little Par 3 at just 140 yards,
From The Fairway but is a hole where it is all important where you land your ball on the green.
On The Green Always aim for the pin or slightly left of it as there is a slight bank on the left to work the ball back to the green, but miss the green right at your peril, where a bank will kick your ball off well away from the green and cost you all important shots.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee At 526 yards the 12th is the only Par 5 on the course and is a trademark James Braid dogleg left.
From The Fairway The longer hitters can cut some of the corner off but for most a drive over the very clear ridge off the tee sets you up for a straight downhill shot to
On The Green the green in the distance. If you hit a straight drive make sure you don’t go too long through the dogleg as some very large trees await to block your second shot.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee The 13th is a cracking golf hole with ditches up the right and left hand side,
From The Fairway 388 yards uphill. Its best to hit your drive up the left of centre as the ground runs away to the right and your second shot is up the hill so make sure you don’t under club or you will not make the green.
On The Green The green itself is the most challenging on the course, with two tiers and not getting on the right level will definitely spell trouble with the putter.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee The 14th hole is the most spectacular view in many peoples opinion from the tee,
From The Fairway with the hole rolling out before you into the distance. Our pro of 40 years Graham Burroughs ranks it as his favourite hole and anyone who plays here will do well to argue. 463 yards in length with a ditch to the left and a glen to the right, you must get a good drive away to allow your second into the green set in the corner. The second can also be tricky as the farther down the hole you go the m
On The Green
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee A 211 yard Par 3 where a good tee shot is a necessity with two bunkers guarding the front of
From The Fairway
On The Green the green and a ditch running down the left, which is hidden from the tee. The green is a very long, which makes getting the right club very important if you are going to have a hole-able birdie putt.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee The 16th is another great hole which plays much longer than its 418 yards due to it being all uphill.
From The Fairway The hole doglegs slightly to the left which has a ditch which runs up most of the hole on the left so your drive should favour the right hand side of the fairway.
On The Green The second shot is always longer than it looks so once again it is important not to under club and its better to go long if anything as there is a bank at the back of the green.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee The 17th tee can be a daunting place as the drive is through a tight gap in the trees.
From The Fairway The longer hitters will most prO-Bably use an iron as the fairway is split into two levels two thirds of the way down the hole, with an upper and lower level.
On The Green The green is nestled in the corner below for your second shot and there is a bank all the way around the green which can give a helpful kick if you avoid the bunker on the right.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The Par 3 18th hole is 156 yards in length,
From The Fairway but hitting the green is just the first part as it hides the difficulty of putting on this tricky green. You must get the club right to get the right part of
On The Green the green which slopes left to right throughout and should you miss the green left you will find a steep back leaving you a very difficult shot indeed. Set wonderfully in front of the clubhouse and patio be prepared for an audience as glory awaits those who perform well for the inevitable galler
