Hole 1
Hole Name Hauthstauk
From The Tee A fun opening hole.
From The Fairway
On The Green A straight drive is better than long on this one as the trees narrow the further you go. A solid second shot will leave you with a manageable approach to a fairly open green.
Hole 2
Hole Name Chalet
From The Tee This hole is a little harder than the first.
From The Fairway A good drive will leave you with a downhill approach to the green.
On The Green Be careful not to hit over this green, as there is little chance for recovery. Going down a club on the approach is best.
Hole 3
Hole Name Westward Ho
From The Tee A long par 5 with water in front; only the foolhardy attempt to get on in two.
From The Fairway Two solid shots landing in front of the pond will leave you with a manageable approach to the pin. The downhill lie on the approach will result in some topped shots, so be sure to strike solidly.
On The Green
Hole 4
Hole Name Lily Pond
From The Tee The first of the par 3’s,
From The Fairway this hole is more uphill than it appears. Be sure to take enough club to get there.
On The Green The green is also tricky, as it is more sloped than it appears. Multiple putts are not uncommon if you are above the hole.
Hole 5
Hole Name Skookumchuck
From The Tee Finally a downhill tee shot.
From The Fairway This drive looks easy, but the trees on the left can block your approach shot if you tug your drive a little.
On The Green Aim slightly right of centre, this way there’s more room for approach to a relatively unguarded green.
Hole 6
Hole Name Lions Gate
From The Tee Three is a great score on this hole.
From The Fairway The uphill tee shot is often left short by most players, so take at least one more club.
On The Green Once you are on the green, putts can be made on this relatively consistent green.
Hole 7
Hole Name Lowlands
From The Tee Finally an easier hole. This par 4 gives you a good chance to get a shot or two back on the course.
From The Fairway A solid drive will leave a manageable approach to the green and a chance for a good score. Don’t get greedy, as sliced shots can easily go over the O-B fence on the right.
On The Green
Hole 8
Hole Name Shadows
From The Tee The first of four difficult par 4’s.
From The Fairway A good tee shot will go a long way to helping you survive this test.
On The Green The creek that runs down the right side of the fairway can be intimidating, but missing the fairway into the trees on the left is not much better. Don’t be a hero if you don’t hit the fairway — chip it out and leave yourself a good look at the green.
Hole 9
Hole Name Bunker Hill
From The Tee This hole is easy enough on the tee shot.
From The Fairway
On The Green The challenge comes from the green that slopes away from you. Don’t leave your approach shot short, as it is a challenge up and down from there.
Hole 10
Hole Name Mount Baker
From The Tee A long par 4, this baby will make you take notice.
From The Fairway
On The Green Two really good shots will get you there, but there is no shame in making a bogey here. Think par 4 ½.
Hole 11
Hole Name Wishing Well
From The Tee The last of the long par 4’s, here’s a drive that you can swing hard at.
From The Fairway The fairway is wide and the green is relatively unprotected, so you should make a good score here. Out of Bounds is to the left for left handed slicers.
On The Green
Hole 12
Hole Name The Burn
From The Tee A shorter par 4, this hole will require
From The Fairway a straight tee shot to set up a comfortable second to the elevated green. Birdies can be made without hitting an extraordinarily long ball, so hitting two solid shots will be rewarded. Take note, green is larger than it looks from the fairway.
On The Green a straight tee shot to set up a comfortable second to the elevated green. Birdies can be made without hitting an extraordinarily long ball, so hitting two solid shots will be rewarded. Take note, green is larger than it looks from the fairway.
Hole 13
Hole Name Canyon
From The Tee Another solid par 3, the 13th will reward a good tee shot
From The Fairway
On The Green with a makeable birdie putt if you hit the green. Mishits to the left will lead to tree trouble and the trap on the right is no bargain either. A good honest hole.
Hole 14
Hole Name Portal
From The Tee If you thought the other par 4’s were tough, “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet”.
From The Fairway This long uphill par 4 will test every part of your game. Don’t challenge the dogleg on your drive, as only the longest of shots can leave you with an open approach to the green.
On The Green Right-centre is the optimum drive direction. Once you can see the green, the uphill approach will require at least two extra clubs if you hope to get to the green. Once you finally get on the green, allow for the severe slope on your putts.
Hole 15
Hole Name Samanit
From The Tee The hardest par 3 on the course.
From The Fairway Take a couple of extra clubs to get to this green and then watch out for the slope when putting.
On The Green Avoid being above the hole at all costs, as your ball may roll a long way down the green if you miss the hole.
Hole 16
Hole Name Hadden Hall
From The Tee A reachable par 5 for the big hitters.
From The Fairway A left to right tee shot will give you a good look at the green on this downhill dogleg right. Big hitters can hit their tee shots through the fairway and out of bounds if they are not careful.
On The Green Watch out for the creek that crosses the fairway and extends to the right of the green. This is a good chance for birdie (or better).
Hole 17
Hole Name Sleeping Beauty
From The Tee Another good chance to get back at the course.
From The Fairway
On The Green A straight drive will leave you with a short approach to the green. The green is sloped, but not as severely as 14 or 15, so putts can be made here.
Hole 18
Hole Name Whamultchasum
From The Tee A short 90 degree dogleg to finish,
From The Fairway this can be an easy hole if you hit to the corner of the dogleg or a hard hole if you are short or long of the dogleg.
On The Green Be very precise on your tee shot and be rewarded with a short approach to a green that runs slightly away from you. Another good chance to get another birdie.
