Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee The first hole is a testing par four of well over four hundred yards that demands
From The Fairway two well-struck shots to negotiate the tree-lined fairway with a water hazard on the right that follows you all the way to the green.
On The Green
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee The second hole, at first sight, provides a measure of light relief but a well guarded,
From The Fairway
On The Green two-tiered green is receptive to only the most precise of pitches.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee The third is another longish par four allowing the longer hitters a chance to 'open-up'.
From The Fairway
On The Green The water hazard traversing the front of the green is crossed by the Millennium Bridge with a large sand bunker to the right.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee The fourth hole is a par three of modest length,
From The Fairway
On The Green where strategically placed bunkers on the left and a large grass bunker on the right contribute to a tendency to come up short of the green.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee The Par four 5th relies on a constantly threatening stream and
From The Fairway sloping fairway to trap the unwary. Also, a large grass bunker awaits to catch a faltering tee shot.
On The Green
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee The par five sixth that follows has three cross bunkers to be negotiated from the elevated tee.
From The Fairway An open ditch meanders down and across the fairway, just before the green.
On The Green Long hitters, when playing their second shot to the green, will have to get their thinking caps on.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee The golfer who leaves the sixth hole with anything more than a par can expect no immediate relief here.
From The Fairway The par three seventh, as well as being the most picturesque on the course, is also one of the most daunting. There is the small matter of a lake to be cleared from the tee!
On The Green
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee The first nine is completed by two testing par fours.
From The Fairway
On The Green The eighth traversing a narrow tree line, dog legging to the left over a hill and down to the green and its waiting bunkers.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee The ninth has blind fairway bunkers to catch a wayward tee shot as we cross the East Drive and up to Calcot Park's Mansion House.
From The Fairway It is to be hoped that the golfer has not found the outward half sufficiently penal to be tempted to abandon his game in favour of the nearby Clubhouse. To do so would be to miss an equally delightful inward half.
On The Green
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee The tenth offers a perfect birdie opportunity to golfers of even moderate ability.
From The Fairway
On The Green
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee The long eleventh often requires an accurate drive
From The Fairway
On The Green between the adjacent fairway bunkers and then an accurate mid-iron into the green.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee The twelfth, our longest hole, is a par five worthy of note;
From The Fairway two bunkers await either side of the fairway to catch a slightly wayward drive.
On The Green Your second shot sees you crossing the road and taking you past two more bunkers to the western perimeters of the course.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee From the Tournament tees the 13th hole is Calcot Park's longest par 3 measuring 190 yards.
From The Fairway
On The Green
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee To play the hole as Harry Colt designed it, a right to left shot is required from the tee.
From The Fairway Beware of the two willow trees that have been strategically placed on the right side of the fairway which have the potential to block your approach to the green.
On The Green The shot to the green itself requires an extra club from what the yardage states to ensure that you carry the bunkers protecting the front of the green. Be mindful to always leave yourself below the flag to have a chance of making a score as anything left above will do well to stay on the green.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway Try to keep your tee shot down the left side of the fairway to ensure that the camber on
On The Green the undulating landing area does not penalise you excessively. Your approach also needs to be aimed at the left half of the green as any shot landing on the right half will bring the strategically placed bunkers into play.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee Once again a right to left shot is ideal from the teeing ground but be sure to take
From The Fairway enough club to be certain of the ball finishing in the bottom of the gully otherwise an awkward lie will await to an uphill green.
On The Green Your approach needs to favour the right half of the green to account for the slope that awaits. Be sure to take an extra club to allow for the elevation.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee The final par 3 on the golf course once again presents you with a gully and a challenging carry.
From The Fairway
On The Green A shot to the middle of the green is the play on this hole as this will give you access to all pin placements. The green is heavily guarded and will penalise an errant shot in all directions so be sure to bring your most accurate swing to this teeing ground.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee This 465 yard par 4 presents each player with a very challenging drive that needs to be struck
From The Fairway down the right side of the fairway to avoid the hidden deep gully that is placed approximately 210 yards from the teeing ground. To carry the gully a 240 yard tee shot is required but your work is not over there.
On The Green Your approach to the green has to be fed through the front bunkers that protect the putting surface. A shot that is not struck solidly will typically be caught by the bunker sat on the front right of the green. Be confident in taking 1-2 clubs more in your club selection into the green to ensure you carry the deep front bunkers.
