Hole 1

Hole Name

From The Tee This is a difficult starting hole that plays over 400 yards over a hill that doglegs right.

From The Fairway The fairway is a difficult one to hit but do so and birdie or par become very makable scores. A miss to the left of the fairway will leave you with a look at the green but a difficult lie in the native fescue grasses and unforgiving lies.

On The Green The right side is lined with a variety of trees and thick bush, so an errant tee shot can get you in some quick trouble out of the gate. The green is open and slopes severely from back to front.

Hole Name

From The Tee The second is a straight away par 4, without too much trouble either side,

From The Fairway this hole is a bit of a relief to golfers who may have struggled with #1. Spruce tree groupings line the fairway guarding against slightly arrant tee shots.

On The Green The green is protected by a bunker front left, and another to the far right of the green. This green has the least amount of break or contour on the golf course but an approach flying over the green will leaving a challenging up and down.

From The Fairway A slight dogleg right, where the longer hitter might try to fly the spruce trees protecting the right side of the fairway.

On The Green This hole along with #4, and #5 runs along the Artillery range, and occasionally a mO-Bile Gun or tank can bee seen rolling off in the distance. The fairway has some rolling contour to it, and the rough on both sides is made up of fescues, wildflowers, and other native prairie grasses. An errant shot over the green could end up in some tall Spruce, and this green has some deceptive contour.

From The Tee

From The Fairway Another short par 4, features a classic “push up” plateau green. A drive down the right side will leave a great angle in to a small green which slopes from back to front.

On The Green This green falls off on all sides so an accurate approach is imperative if the golfer wants to leave this hole with birdie.

Hole 5

Hole Name

From The Tee The first par 5 at Shilo Country Club usually plays down wind, and features a severely sloping right to left fairway that gently doglegs to the left.

From The Fairway A definite birdie chance, as the fairway is wide and the green relatively large.

On The Green The Aspen poplar forest that frames the following 7 holes shows up on the left side of the fairway and the native fescues and prairie grasses make up the rough along the right. A bunker protects the left side of the green which slopes significantly back to front creating two tiers, making for some difficult pin placements.

Hole 6

Hole Name

From The Tee The first par 3 on the course sets up as your welcome to the next 7 challenging and beautiful holes cut through the Aspen poplar forest.

From The Fairway There is a definite change of scenery beginning here, and this beautiful little hole is often more difficult then it appears.

On The Green Winds may be swirling, and a contoured green with a bunker guarding the left side will give you all you can handle.

Hole Name

From The Tee This hole stretches to 400yards from the elevated back tee, and is the most difficult on the course.

From The Fairway A dogleg left with fairway bunkers along the right give this hole some serious bite if you stray to far left or right.

On The Green This hole is cut out of the Aspen forest and offers a great looking tee-shot and a wonderful view into the green.

Hole 8

Hole Name

From The Tee The longest par 3 on the course, it can be stretched to almost 200yards.

From The Fairway

On The Green This hole often plays into the wind with errant tee shots often finding the bush along the left side. The green has some serious contour front to back and is the largest green on the course.

Hole 9

Hole Name

From The Tee A unique par 5 that doglegs left off the tee and then slightly right into the green.

From The Fairway A great tee shot cutting the left corner will often set up an opportunity to reach this green or at least get quite close in two.

On The Green You must keep your ball in play on this hole, as the Aspen forest surrounds every part of this great par 5.

Hole Name

From The Tee A Shilo Country Club signature hole. An elevated tee offers a beautiful view of the hole in front of you.

From The Fairway A precise tee shot is a must to reach this green in regulation. The tree line encroaches the fairway the further your drive is hit.

On The Green The second shot is to a slightly elevated green, that slopes severely right to left and also has a false front. This green is likely the most difficult to hold on the golf course and a par on this hole is a great score.

From The Tee

From The Fairway A straight away par 4 with a nicely rolling fairway provides a bit of a break after four very difficult holes.

On The Green The fairway is quite wide, and a great drive will leave you a slightly blind shot to the green that is situated below you feet In a bit of a gully.

From The Tee

From The Fairway This is a shortish Par 4 with a very hilly rolling fairway, and an elevated green.

On The Green Trees line the left side of the fairway, but there is room for a stray shot on the left side of the fairway. This green is quite shallow front to back and slopes significantly left to right, so a second shot on the green is something to be proud of. A par on this hole is also a great score.

Hole 13

Hole Name

From The Tee This 151 yard par 3 is the only hole with water possibly coming in to play.

From The Fairway A pond short of the green can come into play on a poorly struck tee shot. #13 is the first hole welcoming you out of the Aspen forest, and the most difficult part of the course is now behind you.

On The Green The green slopes left to right and a putt from above the hole can be extremely fast.

Hole 14

Hole Name

From The Tee For the bigger hitter this hole may be drivable on certain days,

From The Fairway however there is a lot of trouble out there for those thinking of the aggressive play. This hole has 2 fairways bunkers one on each side of the fairway and a deep bunker protecting the right side of the green.

On The Green Although there is plenty of room to the left and event the right on this hole the Aspens come back into play near the green and a ball is easily lost in there.

Hole 15

Hole Name

From The Tee This is a sharp dogleg left,

From The Fairway with the bigger hitters having a chance at taking it over the trees and shrubs on the right and getting their ball very close to the green. A large fairway bunker straight away will catch tee shots that have gone through the fairway and offer up a very difficult 60 to 80Yards bunker shot.

On The Green The green slopes front to back, and is smallish in size.

Hole Name

From The Tee Another signature Shilo hole that was renovated in 2010.

From The Fairway An elevated tee provides a great view of this devilish 160Yards downhill par 3. Two bunkers in front and one at the back right will swallow up errant tee shots.

On The Green The green Has some subtle slopes and contours to ensure a par is appreciated.

Hole 17

Hole Name

From The Tee This hole is undergoing a renovation to turn it into a par 5

From The Fairway within the next year, but as it stands not it is a fantastic straight away par 4 that often plays into the west wind.

On The Green Two bunkers protect each side of the long narrow green, and a long iron is often played into the green and can leave a lengthy putt on a reasonably flat green with some subtle breaks.

Hole 18

Hole Name

From The Tee This par 5 doglegs slightly to the left, but the aggressive player may want to hit it down the left side and risk a better angle into the severely sloping front to back green.

From The Fairway

On The Green A large flat bunker offers some protection in front of this green, but this finishing hole is definitely a birdie opportunity.
