From The Fairway the fairway avoiding the bunker situated on the dog-leg.
On The Green The green slopes from left to right and this can help you with your approach when getting near many pin positions. The first of Coombe Hill’s uphill approaches will test your club selection skills.

From The Tee The longest of Coombe Hill’s par 5s will require the three shot strategy
From The Fairway unless you are an exceptionally long hitter. A drive to the right half of the fairway avoiding the two fairway bunkers will allow you a much easier second.
On The Green Again, on the second shot a ball favouring the right half of the fairway will award the player with a shot up to one of Coombe’s flattest greens!

From The Tee Back to back par 5s and a real opportunity to enhance your score of get it back on track.
From The Fairway Take a driving line just inside the group of bunkers on the right side of the fairway to get into the best position.
On The Green Now you must decide whether to lay up short of the two cross bunkers and leave yourself a short pitch shot or to take on the green for two? When hitting into the green you must allow for a heavy right to left slope on the putting surface!

On The Green This par 3 requires the correct club selection so as to find the same plateau as the pin. The two tier green can otherwise be treacherous.

From The Fairway A great driving hole with three target areas on the left half at different lengths off the tee!
On The Green The approach into this green must be hit with control if you want to stay on the putting surface of this raised green. Beware that shots to the left side of the green tend to run left into the bunker.

From The Fairway A drive up the left hand side of this sloping fairway will generally feed down to the centre/right hand side.
On The Green From the right hand side you will have a flatter stance and an easier second shot to this tough long uphill par 4. When approaching this large undulating green try and leave yourself an uphill putt!

On The Green This green has a pronounced slope from the left to the right and anything off line will be punished. A classic target hole!

From The Fairway The tee shot is aimed at the black and white striped directional marker and the hole falls downhill sharply from 140 yards off the men’s tee.
On The Green The bunker to the front of the green is 40 yards short of the putting surface and any shot clearing this bunker will run up to this large flat green.

On The Green Again favouring the left side with your approach you can be helped by the velodrome shaped banking to the left of this two tier green.

On The Green the smallest green at Coombe Hill, the 12th hole only rewards the courageous golfer. Hitting the green will be applauded!

From The Fairway The fairway sits further to the left than meets the eye! A drive that ends on the right side of the fairway and stays out of
On The Green the heather will be rewarded with an easier second shot to this relatively flat green. Out of bounds is very near the left hand side of this green!

From The Fairway A long drive is not required on this short par 4 as you are more than likely going to run out of fairway.
On The Green A tee shot of around 220 yards to the right half of the fairway leaves you in the best position to attack the pin. The green sits with a pronounced left to right slope and is heavily guarded by bunkers. With no fairway leading up to the green the ball must be carried all the way to the green to be rewarded with a birdie chance!

From The Tee A real risk/reward par 5! A drive aimed over the edge of the right hand tree line
From The Fairway will see the ball to the preferred left hand side of the fairway. Now there is a decision to be made, go for the green in two or lay up and play on for three?
On The Green There are two cross bunkers and a ditch that runs across the fairway and tight up against the right hand side of the green that must be taken into account if you are going for the green in two! Laying up short of the two cross bunkers and leaving yourself around 120 yards in is the best option if you can not make it in two!

On The Green the green and will reward you with a flatter stance over the ball. The uphill second shot into the tier green plays significantly longer than the yardage shows. An uphill putt is advised on this demanding green!

On The Green Club selection is key here as it is all carry to this large undulating green.

From The Tee Favouring the left half of the fairway takes out of bounds on the right out of play and sets up the easier shot into the green.
From The Fairway The flagpole in the distance forms a straight line between the centre of the green and the centre of the fairway for you to get a line to the green from out of the valley. The uphill second plays longer than the yardage suggests.
