On The Green leaving a downhill mid-iron approach to the green.

Hole 2

Hole Name "Southbound Links"

From The Tee Another relatively easy tee shot which should avoid

From The Fairway prarie area left and fairway bunker on right.

On The Green The severely sloped, bowl-shaped right half of the green is this hole's trademark.

Hole 3

Hole Name "Perennial Favorite"

From The Tee Less difficult that number 8, but still a dangerous Par 3.

From The Fairway

On The Green A tee shot that misses the green faces a difficult chip or sand shot to a wide, but fairly shallow green.

Hole 4

Hole Name "Long Plateau"

From The Tee An uphill dogleg left in which accuracy off the tee is a necessity.

From The Fairway From the white or red tees, flail away to cut the corner, but make sure you carry water on the left. A conservative tee shot will be placed away from the water and left of the fairway bunker.

On The Green

Hole 5

Hole Name "Thread the Needle"

From The Tee This hole is a train wreck waiting to happen on any given shot.

From The Fairway The safe play off the tee is away from the lake on the right and short of the fairway bunker.

On The Green The green is extremely shallow. Don't miss this green long as almost a certain double bogey will result.

Hole 6

Hole Name Bankshot

From The Tee A Par 5 reachable in two, but pay close attention to the driving area that narrows for the longer hitters.

From The Fairway Aim the tee shot at the small group of trees on the left side of the fairway.

On The Green

Hole 7

Hole Name "Bunker Hill"

From The Tee Better safe than sorry on this little jewel.

From The Fairway

On The Green Take the hazard on the right out of play by laying up short of the bunker, leaving a short-iron approach to a well protected, elevated green.

Hole 8

Hole Name "Little Runaway"

From The Tee A slightly downhill Par 3 with a narrow opening in front.

From The Fairway

On The Green Play for extra roll as the green slopes from front to back. Take three and run.

Hole 9

Hole Name "Prairie Woodlands"

From The Tee A great finishing hole with the Fire Ridge clubhouse as a backdrop and a perfect aiming point for our tee shot.

From The Fairway Avoid the fairway bunker right and Trees left. The green slopes from right to left and has a narrow opening to play to.

On The Green

Hole 10

Hole Name "Double Challenge"

From The Tee Beautiful Par 5 reachable in two.

From The Fairway

On The Green Second shot is blind to a green protected by out-of-bounds on the left (entire hole) and water short and right. Smart play: lay-up to the 100 year marker. Don't lay up any nearer to green than 100 yards.

Hole Name "Crow's Nest"

From The Tee A gorgeous downhill Par 3 to a large

From The Fairway

On The Green green guarded by bunkers short left and long. A Par 3 is a good score here.

Hole 12

Hole Name "Uphill Battle"

From The Tee An uphill Par 4 which requires a tee

From The Fairway shot to negotiate a strategic bunker in the center of the fairway.

On The Green Keep second shot below the hole as green slopes form back to front.

Hole 13

Hole Name "The Sentinel"

From The Tee Short dogleg left framed by a tree on the left and water right.

From The Fairway

On The Green Downwind, a 3-wood or long-iron leaves a 100 yard pitch shot to a well bunkered green.

Hole 14

Hole Name "The Narrows"

From The Tee Reachable dogleg left with two exacting shots.

From The Fairway Don't go left: prairie grass will gO-Bble up tee shot and fairway bunker or greenside water hazard awaits wayward second/third shot.

On The Green Front third of green slopes away from player. Lay-up second shot to 85 yards.

Hole 15

Hole Name "The Corner"

From The Tee Solid Par 4 which plays longer than its yardage into normal winds from the south.

From The Fairway

On The Green Play tee shot further left than you think. Green protected short left and long by bunkers.

Hole 16

Hole Name "God's Country"

From The Tee Perhaps our best Par 4.

From The Fairway Drive in the fairway and place the second shot BELOW the hole.

On The Green Don't miss the green long as you will face an extremely difficult, delicate and speedy downhill chip shot. Friendly advice: Take your par and run!

Hole 17

Hole Name "Marsh Landing"

From The Tee A dramatic Par 3 surrounded by marsh.

From The Fairway

On The Green The key to this hole is not to miss the green long or left. Your work is not complete just by hitting the green as this is one of our most severe putting surfaces.

Hole 18

Hole Name "Long Way Home"

From The Tee

From The Fairway Negotiate large unplayable mound in right half of fairway.

On The Green If going over, carry left half of mound and play to 100 yards from green. Safest route is between fairway bunker & mound. Keep second shot below hole. Avoid going over green or face fastest, most difficult chip on the course.
