Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee You’ll begin your round on this straight away Par Five,
From The Fairway there is nothing to tricky with this hole but just like most Myrtle Beach golf courses you certainly want to make sure you have all the sleep out of your eyes.
On The Green The most important shot on this hole is certainly the drive, if you find the fairway, you’ll be in good position to set yourself up for an easy birdie. The green is protected on 3 sides by pristine sand bunkers, it is large though you want to be conscious of the relationship between the flagstick and the undulations on this very large green.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee This Dogleg right is no give me par, being a very demanding driving hole,
From The Fairway it sets up for a cut; however if for some reason you play a cut and hit it straight you through the fairway and in trouble in the trees.
On The Green Like many Grand Strand golf courses, you certainly have to pick a target and trust the one you pick. The green is very undulated sloping dramatically from front to back and then from left to right as well, position is critical on this green.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee Just a slight dog leg to the left, this hole can be treacherous.
From The Fairway The play off the tee is to aim at the bunker at the corner and draw it off of it, though the long hitters might prefer to hug the left side trees and bomb it to the one hundred yard mark.
On The Green This large green doesn’t look so large from the fairway; mainly because of a very imposing white sand bunker that guards the green from the front. If your long you’ll have a tricky shot being that the green slopes from front to back.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee A famous North Myrtle Beach par three where the teeing ground is situation by two swamps,
From The Fairway
On The Green the key here is to be a precise shot from the tee to the middle of the green. The green is the difficulty here being there is a dramatic slope from front to back. Being above this whole is no fun and an easy three putt.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee Reaching this Par 5 in two will take two very long shaped shots,
From The Fairway the ideal shape being left to right on both shots. A smart player takes the majestic swamp that guards the green out of play with a layup leaving you just about 100 yards for your third,
On The Green Yet again the green is sloped dramatically from back to front so a front pin location could cause a lot of trouble.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee A long dogleg left, a high draw down the right side of the middle of
From The Fairway the fairway is the play here on this majestic Myrtle Beach Par 4.
On The Green The tree line on this hole is not where you want to be, finding it will almost certainly take hitting the green in regulation out of play. The green is well protected with white sand bunkers. A par here is a great score.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee The second par three of the front nine, this one is just as much of a challenge as the first.
From The Fairway A longer iron will get you there but the precision of your shot here is certainly the main goal; being that the green is surrounded by bunkers in famous Gene Hamm fashion. Once again be thankful with par.
On The Green
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee The Former home of the Eagle Nest in which the course was named for,
From The Fairway this is a very special hole. The tree lines on both sides create an alley way which calls for a very demanding tee shot.
On The Green After you have found the fairway the hole gets easier as you move along, the green is very well protected by bunkers on both sides of the green. A well placed second should give you a good chance for birdie on this outstanding hole .
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee A great way to finish the front on this whole that you can be a little aggressive with,
From The Fairway a slight dog leg to the right with a nice open fairway, it is sometimes hard to get it close to the pin being that
On The Green the green slopes away from you. After playing this hole be sure and stop in at the snack bar for an Eagle Nest cooler beer special purchase.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee Now that you have a fresh six pack in the cart,
From The Fairway you should feel free to be aggressive on this short par four, what you see is what you get on this easy looking Myrtle Beach golf hole. Looks can be deceiving though.
On The Green The green is up hill with a deep white sand bunker guarding the front of the green. Not to mention the green is fairly shallow so it will require a well placed second shot.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee Long par four with a small green, this hole is a sure spender.
From The Fairway Off the tee is better to favor the left hand side of this fairway in that it will
On The Green open up the green for you second shot, the green slopes a bit from left to right and away from you so it won’t be an easy shot either way.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee A nice par 3, most likely the easiest of the four.
From The Fairway The green is sloped in a fashion that easily holds a golf ball.
On The Green Keep the ball below the hole on this green and you’ll have a good chance for birdie, if you do miss the green the miss is certainly short.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee A very long Par five that dog legs to the left,
From The Fairway the hole is situated in a way with a pond that is easily carryable on the left, that makes you want to stay right, this is certainly a recipe for disaster being that the tree line on the right is much closer than you think it is. Pick a spot that is in line with the right edge of the pond and stick with your swing and you will find a great position in the fairway.
On The Green Most will have to lay up to about a hundred yards out, this is a small green that is protected on all sides with white sand bunkers. Good luck making a birdie on this North Myrtle Beach golf hole.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A sweeping dog leg left with a fairway that slopes away from you, the most common tendency for most is to favor the right side of the fairway,
On The Green but the play is to hug the corner as tight as possible. Water comes into play in the right front of the green on the second shot but most golfers shouldn’t have to worry too much about this, favor the right side of this green because it slopes back toward the water as is common in the myrtle beach golf market.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee This is your last chance to breath before the famous toughest 3
From The Fairway finishing holes on the Grand Strand. However don’t relax to much because this hole can certainly punish poor shots. There is a gentle dog leg back to the left, make sure you hit the fairway and you should have a mid to short iron in. The green slopes from the back right of the green to the left front,
On The Green a well placed second shot should give you a great chance for birdie. Then get ready to show what you are made of over the next three toughest finishing holes in Myrtle Beach Golf
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee This is by handicap the hardest hole at Eagle Nest,
From The Fairway A good drive gets you inside of the 200 yard marker, but there is a lot more work to do. The second shot will have to negotiate a large swamp on the left that leaves just a small landing area for those that choose to lay up.
On The Green The green is shallow and extremely sloping back toward the swamp. A par is as good as a birdie here.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee Simply a monster that is the envy of Myrtle Beach golf,
From The Fairway only the BIG boys can even think about going at this green in two. The best case scenario for laying up is at about 140 yards, because of the large pond that makes laying up difficult.
On The Green Most golfers under club leaving a downhill lie 160 yard nightmare to the green. The green is guarded by white sand bunkers and the green is small and undulating. Be thankful for par and grateful that you only have one hole remaining on the toughest 3 finishing holes on the Grand Strand.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The Signature hole at Eagle nest is simply beautiful,
From The Fairway the tee shot calls for a mid to long iron with a large pond that must be carried. This is certainly not a good time to whiff a shot.
On The Green The green is large but is surrounded by deep white sand bunkers. Once you get up to the green be sure to look back at the beautiful pond with an Eagle Nest sign under the tee box. Take your time and do your best to make a par.
