Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee The 1st hole is a tough opener with the out of bounds fence running down the entire left hand side. In addition, large trees and a small dam on the left narrow the landing zone, meaning only the straightest of drives will put players in the best spot for their second shot.
From The Fairway Large trees also make for a narrow approach whilst the green falls away on the left towards the Out of Bounds fence.
On The Green
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee The 2nd hole is a short par 3 that plays tougher than it looks. Players must be careful not to miss the green to the back right as a dam boarders the green on this side, whilst anything long risks hitting the back of the green and bouncing out of bounds.
From The Fairway
On The Green The safest play is aiming to the front right as this also avoids the large trees on the left and leaves an uphill putt or chip onto the pear shaped green.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee You will either love or hate the 3rd hole as one of the largest trees on the course sits directly in the middle of the fairway around 60 metres from the green.
From The Fairway A slight dog leg left off the tee, players must decide if they will flirt with the out of bounds running down the left to leave the easier approach or play safe out to the right.
On The Green An approach from around the left of the tree is rewarded by the slope running onto the green whilst anything right of the green may catch the front bunker. Only the brave, or foolhardy, will try to go over the tree.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee The 4th is a relatively short dog leg left par 4 with a tee shot across a gully before the hole slopes around and down to a wide but fairly shallow green.
From The Fairway Long hitters can take on the large gums on the corner to potentially get home in one whilst the more conservative will hit as high up and around the corner as possible, as this leaves only a wedge to the green.
On The Green Distance control is paramount on the approach shot as anything long may bounce down into the water hazard behind the green whilst anything short will catch the long rough and won’t release onto the green.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee The par 4 5th hole is a dog leg right with the tee shot playing slightly up hill. Once at the top players will see a large, two tiered green that sits out from the hillside on the other side of the gully.
From The Fairway
On The Green Generally a longer second shot will be the more advantageous play as this will leave an easier downhill chip or putt, anything short of the green will hit the steep front bank leaving a very tough up and down out of long rough to a green that sits well above head height.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee The 6th is the longest hole on the course, a par 5 of 488 metres which seems to stretch around to the left forever.
From The Fairway Played as a genuine three shot hole a hybrid or long iron is sufficient for players to set themselves up from the tee and leaves a similar club for the second shot, best aimed down the right hand side of the fairway.
On The Green From here players will have a third shot of 100 – 150 metres with the green best approached from the front right, as anything left or long will result in a tough chip back up to the green.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee The 7th is a long par 3 framed by trees down the left and behind the green which sits out from the left to right sloping fairway.
From The Fairway A tee shot hit to the right runs the risk of catching the front right hand side bunker so a long and accurate shot down the left is the best bet.
On The Green The green, whilst relatively flat, slopes slightly from front to back and contains a number of subtle breaks.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee The 8th is a par 4 that dog legs to the right and plays a lot longer than the listed distance of 339 metres.
From The Fairway Although most players will only need a long iron to reach the corner the tee shot needs to be not only accurate, in order to miss the towering gums left and right, but also must fall short of the water hazard through the fairway.
On The Green From here a shot of 150 metres + is generally still required to reach the green, with an approach feeding in from the higher left hand side the best option.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee The 9th is a straight par 4 that leads back down to the clubhouse. Players are faced with a drive through a chute of trees which, combined with the offset direction of the tee block, is best tackled with a draw.
From The Fairway However care must be made to not turn any drive over too much as a water hazard sits right on driving distance down the left side of the fairway.
On The Green The second shot plays to one of the largest greens on the course, which sits slightly raised and slopes from back to front.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee Players are faced with a tight dogleg left played through a narrow band of trees at the 10th. The aggressive play off the tee requires players to aim at the large gum at the end of the dog leg and shape their ball right to left as this can lead to a short pitch or even reaching the green.
From The Fairway Others will hit to the corner with a mid to short iron leaving 100 – 150 metres to another back to front sloping green.
On The Green Any approach shot hit too long will leave a tough chip whilst a left hand side pin position also makes for a hard par if chipping or putting from the right hand side of the hole.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee The 11th is a dog leg left mid length par 4 which can be played fairly straight as the best drive cuts the dog leg by hitting over the corner and “kicking a goal” between the large and small trees that sit on the inside corner.
From The Fairway From here players are faced with a small, back to front sloping green. Anything long of the putting surface leads to a very tough up and down so approach shots are best played a little short.
On The Green
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The 12th is a long par 4 which plays slightly up hill, care must be taken on both the drive and approach shots as out of bounds runs the length of the hole down the left, although the large trees often help to keep wayward balls in bounds.
On The Green A flat green at the end of the fairway offers some respite to players who have hit two good shots on this long par 4.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee The 13th is a par 4 which the longer hitters can take on as flying the creek around 220 metres from the tee can lead to a birdie chance.
From The Fairway Others are faced with a lay-up shot from the tee and then have to contend with hitting over the creek which cuts across the fairway, as well as carrying the bunker which sits at the front left of the green.
On The Green Whilst a relatively short hole the 13th green features a wide but shallow putting surface that requires good distance control for any approach shot.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee The 14th hole is a short par 5 which gently curves to the right and provides perhaps the best chance of a birdie on the course.
From The Fairway A tee shot that hugs the trees down the right will offer the longer hitters the option of going for the green in two, whilst the relatively straight and hazard free fairway will present others with a chance to set up a short approach shot to a green which slopes gently from back to front.
On The Green With the chance for a birdie 4 on the cards, players can use the hole to set themselves up for a good finish to their round.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee The 15th is a short dog leg right par 4 where players can hit anything from a 5 iron to a driver off the tee.
From The Fairway The longer the club chosen the more players are required to shape their tee shots left to right, whilst the addition of swales and water hazards make taking on the green in one unwise.
On The Green A good tee shot to the corner will leave a relatively easy approach to the large green, which slopes from right to left.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee Whilst only a short par 4 the 16th requires 4 good shots for players to make par. Large gum trees boarder either side of the fairway and threaten to grab even a slightly inaccurate tee shot so most people will hit a 3 wood or long iron off the tee for accuracy and to lay up short of the creek.
From The Fairway From here players are faced with an approach shot to a small green that is an up turned saucepan, making it hard not only hard to hold the green but also difficult to get it up and down, which ever side the green is missed on.
On The Green
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee The 17th is the first of two par 3’s to finish and the shot required here is largely dictated by the position of the tee block.
From The Fairway From the front players have a bit more room and a mid iron into the green, but if the tee blocks are pushed right back they become tucked within the trees, requiring a straight long iron or wood.
On The Green Rough down the left of the hole will catch any rolling approach to the back to front sloping green.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The last hole is a mid-length par 3 that plays semi-blind over a small ridge around half way to the hole.
From The Fairway Players can only see the top of the pin from the tee block and none of the putting surface, making it hard to judge the distance. The green slopes gently from back to front and has a number of subtle breaks.
On The Green The tendency for putts to seemingly break up the hill makes the putting surface very hard to read and often holing a birdie putt to finish your round is only achieved by some local knowledge.
