Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee A drive down the right will be rewarded with an easier shot to the green than from the left.
From The Fairway However, any shots going off-line to the right by more than five yards will most likely be in trouble due to the stone wall and tree line that separates the 1st and 11th fairways.
On The Green There are acres of space to the left in the form of the 18th fairway, so most players will favour this line for their opening tee shot.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee There is a line of mature trees situated 50 yards short of the green that needs to be given consideration, but it shouldn't cause a problem for most well struck shots.
From The Fairway Any tee shots that find the green will usually have a putt that is quite easy to read, but the green does slope from the left.
On The Green Any shots that finish long or short will have a relatively easy chip shot to set up a Par putt.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee The 3rd is a classic hole in the sense that it offers players the chance to take some risks with big shots that can be handsomely rewarded, but an error at any time will more often than not result in shots being dropped. It is a common 'card wrecker' for our members playing in strokeplay competitions.
From The Fairway From the elevated tee position, you are greeted by a good view of the fairway ahead, and you can clearly see that going left with your tee shot will mean playing '3 off the tee'. On the right, you are greeted by a line of tall, mature trees and a traditional stone wall running beneath.
On The Green Going right with your tee shot won't necessarily spell distaster, but you are very much reliant on a lucky kick off the trees if you are to play your second shot unhindered.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee The 4th hole is a difficult Par 4 by anyone's standards. The first 250 yards is uphill, before it then flattens out and turns to the left slightly to form a moderate dogleg. A large oak tree is a prominent feature on the left side of the fairway, situated at the point where the fairway begins to turn.
From The Fairway The green is relatively flat but is well guarded by two fairway bunkers in front and a large greenside bunker on the left. It is difficult to see the green itself from further back due to the mounds and contours that form the fairway bunkers.
On The Green From the tee, you will see a marker post up ahead. This is the line to follow for those players unable to hit beyond 240 yards with their driver - bearing in mind that the tee-shot is slightly uphill too.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee The 5th hole offers one of the best views on the course, looking down the Vale of Neath towards Swansea Bay. It also offers a very inviting opportunity to get the driver out and 'let rip'.
From The Fairway The fairway meanders down the hill into what is effectively a slight dogleg shape to the right. The perfect line is over the right side of the tree that is conveniently located in the middle of the fairway some 220 yards from the tee. For those players not comfortable with going over the tree, the best line to take is to aim slightly left of it.
On The Green This will provide the best direction from which to attack the green. Those tee shots that take the route over the tree will scuttle onwards down the hill and will leave a short shot into the green.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee The 6th hole runs back up along side the 5th. The hole has a gentle uphill gradient for the majority of it's length before becoming quite flat for the final 120 yards.
From The Fairway The prominent features on the hole include a large oak tree on the left about 300 yards from the tee, a group of fairway bunkers on the right after 350 yards and two small greenside bunkers on the front right of the green.

Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee The 8th hole is mentioned frequently by visitors as one they particularly enjoyed. It opens with an inviting downhill tee shot, but the fairway then flattens after 250 yards.
From The Fairway A tree situated on the left half of the fairway, about 50 yards short of the green, is a prominent feature. The green is narrow, but long - nearly 40 yards long.
On The Green Many players opt for a long iron or hybrid club for their tee shot, as the ball will naturally kick forward upon hitting the downhill fairway and will usually end up on the 'flat'.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee The 9th is probably the front runner in terms of being a signature hole. A deep ravine separates tee from green - hence the name 'The Ravine'.
From The Fairway It plays 166 yards from the white tees, but only 130 yards from the yellow tees, so the difficulty factor can vary greatly between the two tee positions.
On The Green The green is a two-tier construction with the surface area of each level being quite small. Greenside bunkers are situated at either side of the green, with the left one being particularly deep and troublesome to play out of.
