Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee Start your game with a relatively short par 5 on one of our most interesting holes. The drive was intended to target the bridge, which reminds us of the legendary bridge on the Old Course at St. Andrews.
From The Fairway Long hitters can attack the green with their second shot after a successful drive. Of course, the green can also be reached after the tee shot with two relatively short shots in regulation.
On The Green Shot 3 should then be aimed at the middle of the undulating green, as the green is protected by a greenside bunker on the right and left. The right side is also still plugged in as “Off”.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee A moderately long par 3 at 149/119 meters requires a precise shot into the green. On the right side of the fairway, not only “out”, but also a certain loss of the ball through the forest can be expected.
From The Fairway Due to the moat in front of the green, which is filled with stones and allows the ball to bounce uncontrollably, a long and direct shot onto the green is unavoidable.
On The Green To the left and right and just behind the green, treacherous water hazards await the player and make no mistakes here.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee Here too, a safe tee shot onto the fairway is necessary, as the entire hole on the right side of the fairway is accompanied by a long boundary.
From The Fairway From an intermediate skill level, it is therefore advisable to only play the second shot in order to reach the green safely and accurately.
On The Green The front of the green is defended by 2 bunkers. Shots that are too long also end up out of bounds behind the green. A careful reading of the putting line is required on this green as the green is slightly undulating.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee A real track for long hitters. The second longest par 5 on the course requires a long and precise drive that should be placed on the left side of the fairway.
From The Fairway The second blow should be made just as long and precisely in order to overcome the moat, which is in a depression and is therefore difficult to see. The green can then be easily reached with the third shot. Players of intermediate skill level should pay attention to the small biotope on the left side of the fairway.
On The Green The heavily undulating and large green of this hole is defended by two greenside bunkers and does not allow easy play. Players who are too ambitious will be stopped by the bunker at the back.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee This long par 4 is all uphill and therefore requires good lengths for every shot. The fairway is wide, so you can put all your energy into the tee shot if you want to reach the green in regulation. In the middle of the fairway you should pay attention to the large bunker on the left, which comes into play all too often.
From The Fairway Behind the bunker, water flanks the entire length of the fairway and, further ahead, the green. The second stroke must therefore be long and very precise. A somewhat riskier option is to play the green on the right and hit the third shot directly at the flag.
On The Green
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee A short fairway running downhill, which experience has shown is often supported by a tailwind. On this par 4, a long tee shot into the middle of the fairway is enough. When hitting the green, the large bunker in front of the green on the left should not be underestimated and a pond with a stony bank lurks on the right.
From The Fairway
On The Green Since the green is heavily undulating and the terrain behind it slopes steeply, playing to the green is not easy, and reading the putting line is crucial to achieving par.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee At 390 meters from the men's tee, a ditch and the waterfall (lane 12) as well as the water hazard on the left come into play and require a precise tee shot to the fairway.
From The Fairway The fairway bunkers on both sides rarely come into play with a long tee shot. The second (or third) shot onto the green is difficult because the fairway leads downhill to the green and estimating the length of the green approach is difficult.
On The Green The left-facing boomerang-shaped green with its three levels is defended by a large bunker on the right side and a pot bunker on the upper left level. A shot that is too long takes the ball behind the green, where a relatively steep slope causes the ball to roll further down towards fairways 3.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee This long uphill par 3 requires a long and precise first shot onto the green, while not underestimating the two wall hazards that divide the fairway. The rough that accompanies both sides of the fairway should also not be ignored, as a ball can usually not be found here.
From The Fairway
On The Green The high green is protected by a large water hazard on the right. Pitches from around 20 meters in front of the green are made more difficult because the player cannot see into the green over the walls. The safest approach to the green is possible from the left side.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway It is advisable to place a long tee shot on the right half of the fairway. However, this becomes more risky due to the “internal exit” on the same side. In addition, left-handed tee shots lead into the water or at least into the high rough.
On The Green The approach to the green must be very precise, as the green is strongly defended by a bunker on the right and by another water hazard on the left of the green.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The shortest route to the green is via the left fairway bunker, where the outskirts are waiting for the ball a little further to the left. The approach to the green on the second shot needs to be carefully considered. A large bunker with wooden cladding shields the green from the front.
On The Green Behind the green and on both sides there are quite narrow boundaries that strongly defend the green. So a lot depends on a precise second shot! The green itself cannot be seen due to its height and slopes backwards, which is why the third shot onto the green is crucial for achieving par.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee An experience not just for golfers. From the elevated tees you have an excellent view of the entire golf course.
From The Fairway
On The Green The island green in front of you is certainly a challenge, but there is no need to worry. The front edge of the green (waterfall) is 132m from the tee for men and 92m for women.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee Special skill is required here. A careful and precise tee shot is recommended. On the left side of the fairway there is a moat and on the right the adjacent farm road and difficult rough punish any kind of inaccuracy.
From The Fairway In addition, there is a water hazard in the dogleg of the drive landing zone and immediately afterwards a water ditch. As the course continues, the 2nd and 3rd shots have to be transported straight as there are further bunkers lurking along the course of the fairway.
On The Green The green is defended by three round bunkers on the right and a shallow round bunker and two deep pot bunkers on the left. Playing the green too ambitiously will lead the ball behind the green, where a slope will cause the ball to roll further down.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee At first glance, this train seems simpler than it is. The relatively short par 3 is very strongly defended by two water hazards on the side. For higher handicappers it may be worthwhile to place the ball in front of the green first.
From The Fairway
On The Green
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee The tee shot is an important tactical tool here. Long hitters must cross the moat to get into a safe position for the green.
From The Fairway However, the fairway in the corresponding landing zone is narrowed by bunkers (left) and water (right).
On The Green The defensive variant assumes that the hit ball lands in front of the moat, but from there it is practically impossible to reach the green with the second shot. The green is difficult to play due to the walls from the front and water from the right.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee Here the tee shot should roll out over the front fairway bunker in the dogleg behind it. However, shots that are too long can land out of bounds to the left.
From The Fairway The green is defended by a bunker on the front left and a water hazard on the right.
On The Green The narrow green itself is heavily undulating and framed by a stone embankment on the right.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee A long hitter has extreme advantages on this track. The fairway is wide and allows for a risk-taking tee shot. The rough on the left and right of the fairway rarely comes into play.
From The Fairway After a skillful long tee shot, the green can be hit with a shot of medium length. The green is defended by a shallow bunker on the right and a water hazard on the left.
On The Green However, behind the green is not only the exclusion zone, but also the terrace of the clubhouse. Please note the local rules.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee A very good drive is necessary on the longest lane on the course. Even the men's tee shot requires an ambitious shot over the water hazard to the fairway (a psychological challenge).
From The Fairway The fairway is wide enough, deviations are punished to the left of the bunker, to the right of the rough and out. Straight transport shots are the only way to achieve par here.
On The Green The high and heavily undulating green is at the end of the fairway, guarded by two bunkers to the left and right of the green.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee There are only a few golf courses that have such a “signature hole” with an island green on hole 18 and a clubhouse terrace behind it. For this alone, a round at the Golf & Country Club Leipzig is worth it.
From The Fairway This course cannot be described, you have to experience it and it's best done when the clubhouse terrace is full, because one thing is certain: courage when attacking the green is rewarded here like it is with the professionals - with applause.
