From The Tee Great starting hole from the tee and a challenge on the green
From The Fairway
On The Green The first green will give you a feel for how fast and challenging the greens at Grassy Hill Country Club can be. Two putt this one and you are on your way to a great day on the greens.
From The Tee Hole #5 – 612 yards – Enough said there! 3 good shots are what it will take to reach this green in regulation.
From The Fairway
On The Green The hole is relatively flat and there’s plenty of room right to avoid out of bounds left but a good tee shot and second shot are required to set up a birdie chance. The green slopes from right to left but if the pin is right, hit it to the left side of the pin or you will have a tricky downhill putt or pitch to the hole.
From The Tee Hole #6 – 158 yards – The shortest par “4” you’ll ever play say the members! If you are above the hole on #6 hang on to your hat.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green slopes strongly from back to front and is challenging to stop your ball from running past the hole. Hit short as opposed to long and you will make more pars.
From The Tee Hole #7 – 387 yards – A slight dogleg left played downhill from the tee. There’s plenty of room right but the further right you are, the more difficult to attack the pin on a green that slopes from front to back.
From The Fairway
On The Green A solid shot from the fairway will hold the green nicely.
From The Fairway Uphill to a fairway that slopes left.
On The Green A ball hit on the right side of the fairway will end up in the middle but don’t leave it in the right rough. You need a precise shot into the green to stay below the hole on a green that slopes from right to left.
From The Tee Hole #9 – 449 yards – The members favorite par 5. This hole is reachable in two for the average length player and should be an eagle chance for the long hitter.
From The Fairway The fairway slopes from left to right so the best shot is to the left side of the fairway.
From The Tee Hole #10 – 218 yards – A great par 3 but don’t go long! Take a club less and you will make more birdies and pars from the front of the green than if you are long.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green slopes slightly from front to back and is well guarded by bunkers on both sides.
From The Tee Hole #12 – 290 yards – Go for it! The long hitters will try and go for this one off the tee but
From The Fairway
On The Green the green is well protected with bunkers on both sides and the green will challenge your skills. It is faster than you think downhill and slower than you think uphill. If you lay up off the tee you must pick the right club to keep your tee shot short of a pond but far enough to clear a brook. Looks easy but you can walk off with bogie or worse if you are too aggressive or above the hole.
From The Tee Hole #13 – 190 yards – This par 3 is a solid hole played up hill to a green that is somewhat concave. Hit an extra club to get it there. A shot missed left or right will be a challenge to get up and down.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green is large so it will take a precise shot to get it close.
From The Fairway A great short hole that must be attacked from the left side of the fairway.
On The Green The green is tricky to land the ball pin high since you cannot really see the putting surface on your second shot. The longest hitters will try and go for this one downwind but the fairway narrows the closer you are to the green and a tree on the right guards the approach as well.
From The Tee Hole #15 – 433 yards – The longest par 4 on the back 9 but hit a good one here and you’ll have a mid to low iron in. There’s plenty of room off the tee but the long hitter must stay away from the left side since a brook comes in to play about 260 yards off the tee.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green slopes from front to back. A shot to the front will find it’s way to the middle.
From The Tee Hole #16 – 509 yards – Long ball hitters will be going for this par 5 in two. You must hit two good ones to get there. Most players will lay up to about 140 yards but a pond and reeds in front will challenge your perception of distance.
From The Tee Hole #17 – 176 yards – Downhill par 3 with a green that slopes from back to front. If you land the ball on the front third of the green, the ball will roll back to the front.
From The Fairway
On The Green Go long and you will have to hit a great shot to keep your ball on the right level. If you find the middle of the green with your tee shot, you’ll walk off with birdie or par.
From The Tee Hole #18 – 342 yards – Uphill dogleg left hole. Not long but plays longer. Not a big green so any ball that finds its way onto the putting surface will leave a good chance to knock it in.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green is situated up on a hill with a severe slope to the left side so any balls missing left are going to leave you a challenging pitch shot.
