Water parallels the entire left side of the hole and becomes more of a factor after you play your second and third shots. Where you lay up depends upon your daring. The closer to the green the more the water comes into play. The green is slightly elevated and contoured toward the water. Daring shots may not be the best plan

From The Tee The dogleg left 403-yard par4 seventh hole offers a chance to gamble off the tee. The longer tee shot will leave an opportunity to be aggressive with your next shot. However, an errant tee shot can find water down the entire left side. If your ball makes it through the mature trees on the right, there is another creek. The green extends over the water on the left and that is where the fun begins.

From The Fairway The 400-yard par 4 eighth hole is a dogleg left with another creek that parallels the fairway, and wraps around the green. (Art Hills must be a fader). The fairway is level but the right rough moves up a hill that bends to the left as well. The green is small and looks harmless. Looks are deceiving, in this case

From The Fairway The 500-yard par 5 ninth hole is reachable only for the daring. The hole bends to the left off the tee and stays straight until 40 yards before the green. At that point, the fairway moves right, and the green sits with a cathedral of birch and oak trees bordering the right side. The green itself is elevated in front and mounded in the back. This hole may be an easy 5 or a frustrating 7.

From The Fairway The 536-yard par 5 eleventh hole offers another opportunity to gamble. The dogleg right is protected by a line of mature trees to the right, and two gaping fairway bunkers to the left. Anyone that accepts the gamble must clear a large shallow bunker that guards the front of the green and the water that intrudes on the right. The green is well mounted and contoured to extend the challenge.

The fairway is generously large but with water so predominately visible to the right, rough will see plenty of action. As you might have guessed, the wind will blow towards the water most of the time.

From The Fairway At 320 yards in length you might think that you have an easy hole. The par 4 fourteenth signature hole demands accuracy from the tee. The longer the club you select, the more generous the landing area and the closer you come to the three fairway bunkers. Water guards the entire right side of the hole and wraps behind this elevated green. An easy par or an easier double bogey.

Play it safe to the right to keep your ball dry. The green is set into the hill that rises from the lake. Any ball that lands to the right of the green kicks back to the green and toward the water.
