Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee The starting hole a shortish par 4 of 317 metres. A fairly tight driving hole with thick bush to both sides, it also has a fairway bunker about 200 metres out on the right to catch the slicer.
From The Fairway The drive should be ideally played to left of center to avoid the bunker, followed by a short iron to a long green where the difficult part is getting the ball pin high.
On The Green The green is protected by a large bunker at the front left as well as bunkers both right and left.

Hole Name
From The Tee The longest par 3 on the course, at 192 metres it is a difficult shot to hit the green.
From The Fairway The green is protected by a bunker on the front left that winds all the way along the left side of the green as well as a small deep bunker on the right.
On The Green A larger green, but not one of the easier ones to read. A par on 11 is always a good score.

Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee Heading back toward the clubhouse the hole measures 380 metres and offers a last reward but with plenty of risk.
From The Fairway The hole doglegs to the right around a deep well placed fairway bunker and a drive too far left can run out of fairway and find trouble.
On The Green The green although quite large is well protected by bunkers left, right and back and there is no easy putt to be had on on its tricky undulating surface, especially from above the hole.

Hole Name
From The Tee At 385 metres the 4th hole is a good test, often played into a head breeze, the hole is a long slow dogleg to the right.
From The Fairway A fairway bunker on the left is not a bad target line unless you are a longer hitter, leaving a long iron or fairway wood to another well protected green.
On The Green There is a bunker front left and front right to catch the short shot, while the longer shot will kick hard off the right edge. Over the back is not the place to be and will result in lost shots.

Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee The first of 2 consecutive Par 5’s the 5th offers the chance of a birdie if you can negotiate the fairway and green side bunkers. Off the tee the long fairway bunker on the left is a constant danger covering all lengths of hitters.
From The Fairway The second shot must then avoid the 2 fairway bunkers on top of the hill to the right that start around 120m out from the green. Longer hitters can reach the 5th in 2 shots but must thread the needle and avoid the deep green side traps.
On The Green Otherwise golfers can lay up onto the top of the hill leaving a pitch or into the deep valley at the front of the green. The green is large with a small tier in the middle creating some tricky putts.

Hole Name
From The Tee The longest hole at Horsham, the 6th measures 520 metres and is a true three shot hole.
From The Fairway The fairway has a snake like effect causing the golfer to almost play it as a double dogleg. Thick scrub both left and right will require two long accurate shots, setting up a short iron or even wedge for the third shot into a large green angled slightly away from you.
On The Green The green is guarded on the left and right by bunkers and the putting surface has several tricky undulations.

Hole Name
From The Tee At 290 metres the short 7th hole can bring quite a few birdies but don’t fall for the trap of taking this hole too lightly.
From The Fairway Any shot missing the fairway right will have you playing from a tricky lie that can spell disaster. An iron for accuracy can be taken from the tee and if the fairway is found then a wedge will get you home.
On The Green The green, guarded by deep bunkers on the front right and left, has its edges on the upper level hidden from view and any approach not finding the surface will be swept down steep slopes on either side and result in lost shots.

Hole Name
From The Tee An challenging par 3 with the ‘Sahara’ or sandy waste to carry and the green protected with bunkers both left and right.
From The Fairway The tee sits above the green and tee shots are usually affected by any wind that is present making it an even harder green to hit.
On The Green The green is larger at the back with a small swale through the middle that creates some hard to read undulations.

Hole Name
From The Tee The 9th is a true test and at 403 metres it is one of the longer par fours (par 5 for ladies). The tee shot must be played between the fairway bunkers that will grab any ball slightly off line.
From The Fairway As a more severe penalty for anything way left, there is a water hazard also waiting. The 2nd shot will be played with a long iron into a large green with a narrow profile that is heavily bunkered on the right.
On The Green The green is quite sloped from back to front and towards the bunker and the best place to putt from is definitely below the pin.

Hole Name
From The Tee A fantastic hole to start the second 9 of 302 metres provides the impression of the delightful challenge that lies ahead. With a fairway bunker on the right and 2 more on the left along with a decorative dam edged with tall gums, the opening tee-shot can be a nervous one.
From The Fairway With such a small landing area an option may be to lay up leaving a short iron up the hill and dogleg right to a green protected the length of its right side by a deep bunker.
On The Green A relatively narrow flat green sits atop the hill and is angled slightly away so that any pin on the right requires you to flirt with the bunker to get close. Miss the green short or left and Par can still be made.

Hole Name
From The Tee The third of Horsham’s Par 3 holes is a tough initiation. At 167 metres uphill, protected by 4 bunkers and with a green angled slightly away from the golfer this hole demands an accurate shot to find the putting surface.
From The Fairway
On The Green And once on a heavily back to front sloping green means there are no easy putts to be had. Walking off the 11th with a Par is certainly considered a win.

Hole Name
From The Tee A short, by today’s standards, 442-metre par 5 that can give up many birdies combined with a few eagles.
From The Fairway The drive should be kept well away from the fairway bunker on the right about 210 meters out, to set up a long iron/fairway wood into a green that is protected all down the right by well-placed bunkers.
On The Green The only place to miss this green safely is short to the left, any shot long or right will end up kicking down a slope leaving an extremely difficult recovery.

From The Tee A short par 3 of 158 metres, this hole is not to be taken lightly. The bunker on the left guards the front and left side of the green, whilst the right side also has a well positioned bunker.
From The Fairway
On The Green A shot finding the putting surface can still result in some extremely difficult putts due to the severe undulations in this green. Getting the ball pin-high with the tee shot is vital.

From The Fairway A good par 4 of 362 metres, finding the fairway is the first obstacle the golfer will face. With heavy rough on both sides of the fairway, accuracy is paramount.
On The Green A good drive followed by a mid iron should find this undulating green, provided you miss the water on the left of the greenside bunkers. The figure of par is well earnt on this hole.

Hole Name
From The Tee A fairly straight forward par 4 of 376 metres. The drive is from a tiered tee slightly downhill to a bit of a dip, followed by a mid to long iron into one of the most generous flatter greens at Horsham.
From The Fairway
On The Green If you miss your drive, you will find light rough or trees. The large green is protected on both sides by bunkers that shouldn’t really worry the smart golfer.

Hole Name
From The Tee Another tricky short par 4, this time measuring 325 metres. The wide fairway is actually deceptively narrower the further you drive, and missing the fairway will result in trouble.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green slopes from back to front quite a bit, so the best position to putt is from below the hole. Greenside bunkers guard this hole from both sides, and going long is another sure-fire bogey.

Hole Name
From The Tee Rated the hardest hole at Horsham, the 8th hole measures 404 metres. The hole is a long sweeping dogleg to the left, a difficult prospect for a slicer of the ball.
From The Fairway A drive missing the fairway often results in a lost ball. A drive finding the top of the hill will leave a long 2nd shot to a narrow green protected by 3 bunkers, the only place to miss this green is short and slightly to the right.
On The Green The green itself is quite sloped and a shot long will leave a fast putt down the green.

Hole Name
From The Tee A tempting short hole of just 281 metres which can quickly turn dreams of an eagle into nightmares of double bogey, or worse.
From The Fairway Standing on the tee you have a magnificent view of the surrounds and fairway, and with a huge drive, the green can sometimes be reached.
On The Green The large green is protected by 2 bunkers on the right and 1 bunker on the left, as well as many slopes and undulations requiring a lot of thought and pace control on the putt.
