Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee One of the toughest starting holes in the Highlands, a 225yrd par -3. Keep it straight to avoid punishing rough on both left and right.
From The Fairway
On The Green
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee Continuing in the same vein as the 1st, the 2nd is another tough hole.
From The Fairway
On The Green Two good shots are required to reach the large green which is guarded by 3 bunkers.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee Some respite here, a straightforward par-4
From The Fairway
On The Green which requires an accurate second shot to hit the elevated green, which has rough and trees on the left down a steep bank.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee Our only par-5 on the course, with the green in range in two shots for only the longest hitters.
From The Fairway
On The Green Most lay up to the 100yrd marker then play their third shot to the highly elevated green.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee A “pickup” hole potentially, a shortish par-4
From The Fairway with a fairway that slopes from right to left. Many choose to bale out onto the 6th fairway which almost guarantees a shot into the green.
On The Green with a fairway that slopes from right to left. Many choose to bale out onto the 6th fairway which almost guarantees a shot into the green.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee Another good birdie chance here, but leave the driver in the bag as accuracy off the tee is paramount.
From The Fairway
On The Green A solid long iron or 3/5-wood will set you up for a short shot into the green which is guarded on both sides by tricky rough and a steep bank to the right. Don’t forget to check out the view back towards the clubhouse!
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee A nice par -3 all laid out in front of you.
From The Fairway
On The Green All downhill to a large green with bunkers left and right, and a ditch waiting for anything over hit.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee Another par-3, this time completely blind. Anything directly over or slightly to the right of the marker post should end up on the green.
From The Fairway
On The Green Another par-3, this time completely blind. Anything directly over or slightly to the right of the marker post should end up on the green.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee A testing par – 4 to finish the front nine, with a ditch running diagonally
From The Fairway across the fairway around the 220yrd mark. Decide if you are going to carry it or lay up.
On The Green
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee A challenging long par-3 with an elevated green. Take one more club than you think here
From The Fairway
On The Green , and avoid the very deep greenside bunker. Putting is tricky on this green, with many hidden borrows, and 3 is a good score here.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee Before you hit your tee shot take a moment to take in the breathtaking view in front of you.
From The Fairway Avoid the fairway bunker on the right and the heather on the left and you will have a simple shot into the green.
On The Green
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee With the trees now maturing this is possibly the hardest tee shot on the course.
From The Fairway
On The Green The ideal tee shot is that which moves from right to left to deal with the slight dog-leg, leaving you a mid-iron to the green which is protected by 2 bunkers.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee Almost perfectly straight, this hole is tree –
From The Fairway lined from start to finish and has one fairway bunker.
On The Green A mid-iron will find the green which is one of the trickiest on the course to read.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee Out of bounds on the left from tee to green. Always take one more club than you think for your second shot to a green which slopes from back to front. No bunkers on this hole.
From The Fairway
On The Green Out of bounds on the left from tee to green. Always take one more club than you think for your second shot to a green which slopes from back to front. No bunkers on this hole.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee Affectionately know as “the card wrecker”, this short hole requires the River Gynack to be carried.
From The Fairway
On The Green Anything coming in high and soft will hold the green and provide a birdie chance.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee Another long par-3 which requires a solid shot or a friendly bounce to hit and hold the green.
From The Fairway
On The Green The best line is just to the left of the green, as everything feeds from left to right.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway Another good driving hole, with a tree lined fairway on both sides and thick rough on the left. If anything, be past the hole here with your second shot as this will leave you an uphill putt. However, anything too long is over the back, leaving a tricky recovery pitch.
On The Green
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee A great finishing hole which has water the whole length of the hole left and right.
From The Fairway Bigger hitters may try for the green, but must be very accurate. Ditches on both sides of the fairway at around 200Yards must be avoided to leave a short pitch to the elevated green, which is very difficult to read.
