Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole is a typical Stanley Thompson opener. The fairway opens up to the left side past the 150 yard marker.
From The Fairway A slight down slope just past this bunker means shots hit to the center left of the fairway get a little extra roll.
On The Green The green is small with a gentle back-to-front slope.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole is a great par 5 with a slight dogleg. The tee shot is straight away with a speed slot for extra roll.
From The Fairway From 150 yards in: water on the right and a large apple tree on the left will guide you to a long narrow green.
On The Green The safest play is to the left centre of the green.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee A beautifully distracting par 3, this hole presents water on the left and right and a green framed by lovely large white pines.
From The Fairway Pay attention to the wind: a grove of trees next to the tee will shelter you.
On The Green Watch out for two green-side bunkers. You may require a club or two longer than the yardage.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This hole is a gentle dogleg left with some teeth. A wide turn down centre right of the fairway presents a good angle to approach the green.
On The Green By taking the more direct line to the green, you risk losing your ball into the valley on the left. The well-protected green plays slightly uphill. A back-to-front sloping green means you can be aggressive with your approach.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee A tee shot hit towards the large tree just left of the fairway will allow you the best approach.
From The Fairway If you can’t reach the elevated green from well out, consider laying up to the bottom of the hill.
On The Green This will allow you a full shot to one of the most difficult greens on the course. If you two-putt here, run to the next tee!
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee The tee shot is the easiest part of this treacherous par 5. Your strategy begins as you work your way over or around the water.
From The Fairway The added risk/reward of the bunker will challenge you if you ‘go for it’. Subtle bowled areas on either side of the hour-glass causeway will help if you choose to go around the water.
On The Green A large, relatively flat green welcomes you at the end of this difficult hole.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee A stunning par 3, especially in autumn, this hole’s severely (back-to-front) sloping green will try your patience.
From The Fairway
On The Green Don’t hit your ball above the hole! It’s better to be short of the green, pitch or chip to within ‘gimme’ range, and not have to putt at all.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A long hole with a serious dogleg left, this one requires a tee shot played with some length and accuracy from the middle and back tees across a ravine.
From The Fairway If playing the forward tee, you won’t have to contend with the treacherous ravine. All second shots face a straight fairway leading to a slightly elevated green running back to front. Hungry? Try the Halfway House!
On The Green
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway
On The Green This hole looks harmless, but the prevailing cross wind can challenge your club selection, and the tiered green can present a lengthy, difficult putt if you don’t choose your club wisely.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee How aggressive are you feeling? Deciding how much water you want to deal with is part of the fun.
From The Fairway An aggressive line toward the fairway bunker will take you round the bend and considerably lessen the distance remaining to the green.
On The Green From the forward tee, no carry is required, and the water is simply to be enjoyed, not traversed.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee A wide welcoming tee shot from the elevated tee box gives you a view of what lies ahead.
From The Fairway The hole doglegs slightly to the right, with left water at about the 130-yard marker. You can’t avoid going over or through the hourglass causeway to get to the green.
On The Green To ensure an easy two putt, take dead aim and be on the correct side of the large hump in the green.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee One of the prettiest holes on the course, this long hole has a gentle bend to right that starts at about the 200 yard mark. The mounding on the outside left corner and trees lining the right will guide you to green.
From The Fairway When approaching the green, favour the right side to avoid the bunkers left, and leave yourself an uphill chip or putt.
On The Green Make sure to check the flag location on #13 as you leave the green.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee Another beautifully designed downhill hole, this one offers an outstanding view!
From The Fairway Commit to your club selection and make a confident swing. Always aim right as a slightly missed shot should bounce back onto the green.
On The Green A front hole location will challenge a ball hit above the flag.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole offers a dogleg left that appears quite benign. A wide open tee shot can lull you into a false sense of security here.
From The Fairway Your second shot is critical. Play towards the large lone tree long and right of the green. With greenside bunkers and a long green, taking an extra club may be a good play.
On The Green
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee One of the tightest driving holes here at Ladies’, this hole’s real test is through the trees lining narrow fairway.
From The Fairway Hit it long and keep it straight. Your target into the green should be the right edge of the bunker over the green.
On The Green The green slopes right to left and gently from back to front. While par is wonderful, bogey is not too bad!
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee An elevated tee and a beautiful view lead your eye to the green below.
From The Fairway Take into account how high you are, and adjust your club selection accordingly.
On The Green Shots short of the green are easy as the back-to-front sloping green accepts chip shots. Long is wrong here.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee A real gamble, this is one of the finest risk-reward holes on the course.
From The Fairway The most important shot is your second, so be sure to hit your tee shot to your favorite yardage.
On The Green The fairway narrows about 100 yards from the green, so distance is not the most significant factor. Another option: just go for it! Pull your driver and enjoy the gamble!
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The grand finale, this uphill finisher presents a real test! When approaching this green, use a lofted club that carries 20 yards longer than the distance indicates.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green is guarded by bunkers right and left. A putt from below the hole is ideal on this severely sloping green.
