Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway An elevated tee offers a full view of the opening hole, but being situated next to the pro shop means your tee shot is usually to an audience. A deep bunker on the left and gorse to the right of the fairway make it a tough opening hole, particularly into a prevailing wind.

Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee This has remained as the test set out by Tom Simpson in the 1930s, the raised green and array of bunkers offering a flavour of the character of the course. It features the toughest green on the course, the putting surface sloping from back to front and from right to left with a good few humps and bumps in between. A fairway bunker was added in 2016 making accuracy off the tee essential.

Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee A short hole, which was created by Herbert Fowler in the 1920s, is usually played into a breeze and very well protected by bunkers on three sides. Again a raised and well-contoured green puts the emphasis on accuracy from the tee.

Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee A picturesque par 5, designed in the late 19th century by Tom Dunn, begins with an initial drive over the gorse bushes with new bunkers to the right to accentuate the dogleg angle and throw down the gauntlet to the big hitters. The hole then has a dramatic blind approach shot played into a sunken green with the River Ryton to the rear. This was also the hole where the Ryder Cup players angered a l

Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A long and very challenging uphill hole is made more difficult due to the fact it is often played into the wind. The hole begins with a blind tee shot played to the sounds of the adjacent babbling brook and the walk up the fairway allows a serene view through the woodlands of the waterfall.
On The Green
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee The shortest hole on the course, it needs a carry firstly over the thick gorse and then past the mounds to the front of the green. The green is very well defended by steep bunkers and a very tricky green full of borrows and undulations.

Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee Originally designed by Willie Park Jnr in the early 20th century, this hole starts with a demanding tee shot over the gorse and bunkers for the ‘tiger line’ to the left and thick rough and woodland to the right. Unusually for Lindrick, this hole has a large receptive green but with a very subtle left to right slope.

Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee Teeing off from the top of a gentle hill, you drive over an extensive area of gorse bushes, that when in bloom, make for a fantastic sight. The front of the green is guarded by an array of daunting bunkers waiting to catch any shot struck anything less than perfectly. This tactical short par four is all about accuracy.

Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee A tee shot over the gorse needs to avoid the gully to the left and the rough and woodland on the right. The approach shot is played downhill into a truly devilish green, which has another very fast but subtle slope from front to back.

Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A tough start to the back nine. Accuracy off the tee is crucial to avoid the bunkers lining both sides of the fairway. The green area is still as modelled by Tom Dunn in the late 1800’s and is guarded by both a bunker on the right and some very challenging hollows to the left and rear.
On The Green
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee A short par 3 into an accommodating green, but the hole has a mysterious ability to force you into pushing your tee shot towards the right side where bunkers reshaped in 2016, hollows and gorse are waiting.

Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee A dogleg left hole, which starts with a semi blind tee shot over the gorse. Leave the driver in the bag here as accuracy is the key with both tee and approach shots as the narrow green slopes from the front left hand side. It is guarded by mounds and hollows but the only hole on the course with no bunkers.

Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee A challenging par 4 where the ideal drive down the hill needs to be shaped if you are to avoid the bunkers and the old quarry area. The hole plays longer than you think due to the fact that the green built in the 1930s by the Herbert Fowler/Tom Simpson partnership is positioned on the summit of an incline. Expect to be out of breath at the top.

Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This is a definite birdie chance for long hitters on this par 5 despite the additional fairway bunkering added by Herbert Fowler in 1927 to provide a greater challenge.
On The Green
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee An uphill tee shot over the gorse and avoiding the waiting left side bunker added in 2016 by Ken Moodie, then over the brow of the hill leaves a downhill approach to a deceptive green sloping to the back. Mounds and hollows surrounding the green make accuracy a vital ingredient on this hole.

Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee Another hole which starts with a blind tee shot back over the ridge. This is a par 5 that can be attacked, although the old quarry to the left is a hazard that should not be quickly discounted and can prove extremely penal. Yet again a well-contoured and undulating green provides a challenging finish.

Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee This entirely downhill hole, designed by Herbert Fowler and enhanced in 2016 by Ken Moodie, is almost totally visible from the tee. It is often played into the teeth of a breeze and accuracy of the shot into the narrow green is vital. Try to beat Greg Norman who took 14 the last time he played this hole

Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The final hole played with the Clubhouse overseeing your every move. A fantastic long par 3, trouble can be found absolutely everywhere. The bunkers were remodeled in 2016 to increase their dramatic effect. This hole is recognised as being one of the greatest 500 holes in the world and also features in Peter Alliss’ favourite 18 holes.
