Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee The prevailing southwest wind adds to the challenge of this uphill par 5.
From The Fairway The long hitter will want to carry the fairway bunker to have a good shot at reaching home in two. For most players, it will take three shots to reach the green
On The Green Selecting the correct club to avoid the bunkers down the fairway and around the green is crucial. A front hole location on this elevated green is the most difficult and can leave a very fast, downhill breaking putt. Chipping from just short of the green is a good option to a front hole. Any hole location, center of the green will leave a realistic chance of a one putt Starting the day with a birdi
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee Number two is a short par three, 165 yards from the blue tees.
From The Fairway
On The Green Trees down the right side protects the green from that angle. Front left bunker guards the greens left side and can make a difficult shot with a hole location on the front of the green. A tee shot over the green will make for a difficult chip. Difficult hole locations are back right and back left. - Jim Ferrell
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee Don't let the fact that this is the #13 handicap hole fool you.
From The Fairway The hole looks beautiful from the tee box gazing over the water past the fairway bunker to the green straight
On The Green ahead, but plenty of challenges are looming. One of the narrowest fairways awaits your tee shot and the green and its surrounds can challenge the best of golfers. - Steve
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee Number 4 is a demanding par 4, with a relatively gentle dogleg left located 100 yards from the green,
From The Fairway
On The Green and playing 460 yards from the back tee. It is located along the east side ofLCC and is the highest elevation of the course along with hole #13, resulting in more and higher wind conditions and associated difficulties. The dogleg is guarded on the inside comer by several large trees and on the outside comer by two large bunkers requiring a precise and long tee shot to gain an unO-Bstructed approac
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee It is the best of times; it is the worst oftimes ... this is #5. This 224-yard par 3, the second on the front nine,
From The Fairway
On The Green :flanked to the left by water, to the right by the road into the club with sand on the back left. Oddly enough if you happen to miss really long and right, you will likely find yourself with an open shot The sloping right edge of the green and surround provides a downhill run toward the center of the green if banked correctly. The green itself is relatively flat and quite large, allowing for signi
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee The 6th hole at Lubbock Country Club is a tree lined straightaway par 5 that incorporates a narrow landing area with no other hazards to negotiate from the tee.
From The Fairway A reachable par 5, the bold player must position his 2nd shot between overhanging trees on the left and a fairway bunker, approximately 60 yards short of the green, on the right
On The Green The left potion of the green allows for a run-up shot, whereas approach shots seeking the right portion of the green must avoid 2 greenside bunkers. When putting on the elevated right tier of the green, be mindful that putts going from east to west are faster than they appear. - Mark Garrison
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee Hole #7 at Lubbock Country Club is a short par four that calls for a right to left tee shot.
From The Fairway It is really important to play from the fairway.
On The Green A 3-wood or utility club could keep your tee ball from going deep into the right trees. The green is protected by a deep bunker on the left side but over the green or right of the green is not good either. The front part of the green has some pretty strong right to left break. A good tee shot and decent short iron into the green and you have a birdie hole. - Gary Phillips
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee #8 is indeed the hardest hole at LCC.
From The Fairway Water on three sides and a narrow fairway requires a long precise shot off the tee ...
On The Green
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee The most challenging driving hole at Lubbock Country Club! A creek flanks the right rough off the tee.
From The Fairway Challenging the left side of the fairway is the best play because of the big tree on the right side of the fairway
On The Green The two tiered green is bunkered on the right side. Accuracy is a premium off the tee as well as your shot to the green on the finest finishing hole in West Texas. It is played as number 9 for the membership, but in all tournaments, it is played as the 18th. - Chad Williams
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee As you make the turn, the 10th tee presents you with a decision.
From The Fairway
On The Green A long tee ball that fmds the fairway and the bottom of the valley that crosses the 10th will provide you with a flat lie less than 100 yards from the green. If you can't reach the bottom then you are better off to lay back to the 150-yard mark to avoid the severe downslope between 140 yards and the bottom. Any tee ball than lands near the right side of the fairway will invariably end up further r
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee A medium length par 5 with a challenging tee shot. Out-of-bounds to the left,
From The Fairway trees to the right and a left-to-right sloping fairway requires a precise drive favoring the left side. A drive lost to the right will generally require a punch out back to the fairway.
On The Green After a well-placed drive, better players are tempted with a shot to the elevated green tucked between two canyon walls. The green is two-tiered which places a premium on third-shot approaches to finish on the correct tier as the hole. A superior par 5 which physically and mentally challenges players of all levels. - Rick Trice
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee This 170-yard par 3 is a sneaky one.
From The Fairway A front hole location can look very accessible but is protected by bunkers on both sides. A short sided bunker shot makes for a tough par. When the hole location is back, the 12th can require precise shot shaping to get close. - Brad Ralston
On The Green
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee t 605 yards the par 5, 13th is the longest hole at Lubbock Country Club.
From The Fairway The hole plays straight away, but has out of bounds down its full left side. A solid tee shot will leave you with a second shot that requires you to manage a set of two fairway
On The Green bunkers positioned at 90 yards from the green on the left and 60 yards on the right. The green complex is protected by one bunker and a grass swale on the left and trees on the right. The green as you view is relatively flat with a gentle slope left to right and is about 20 yards wide and 35 yards deep. This is a fun hole to play and is the number 4 handicap hole. - Ray Salsky
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee Hole #14 is the shortest par 4 at Lubbock Country Club, but not necessarily the easiest
From The Fairway Placement of the tee shot is critical depending on where the hole is on the green. If the hole location is back left you must be on the right side of the fairway
On The Green if the hole location is on the right side of the green you must be on the left side of the fairway to avoid being blocked by the trees near the green. To be long on your approach shot is to guarantee bogey or worse. Good luck -have fun. - Ellwood Keeney
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee A deceptively tight hole, #15 is one of the prettiest holes on the golf course.
From The Fairway
On The Green Lined with a lake and mature elm trees on the left side and a forest of trees down the right A birdie opportunity requires a well-placed tee shot that rewards you with a short to medium-length second shot into a generous green flanked by a bunker front right and a pair of grass bowls left of the green. An errant tee shot to either side makes par a much more difficult score. - Steve Locke
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee The 16th hole at LCC is another great par 4 that requires two accurate shots to be successful.
From The Fairway A tee shot with any fairway wood towards the lone fairway bunker should leave you a comfortable short iron into a green
On The Green protected by a front bunker as well as a steep drop off the right side of the green. An approach to the center of the green will certainly provide you with a manageable birdie opportunity. - David Bolen
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee Number 17 is one of the most intimidating holes on the course.
From The Fairway
On The Green It's a 210-yard par 3 where the wind is blowing into you most of the time. There is a creek that runs through that is not an issue for most, but can cause big prO-Blems if you don't hit a solid shot. The green is protected by bunkers on both sides and slopes from back to front. There is not a straight putt anywhere on it. This one of my favorite holes, but also the one I think about before and aft
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee Arguably the best finishing hole in West Texas, a great risk vs reward challenge to complete your round at Lubbock Country Club.
From The Fairway This #8 handicap hole is an uphill, slight dogleg right that requires an accurate tee shot to the left side of the fairway in order to avoid the large daunting bunker on the right.
On The Green Long hitters can drive over the bunker on the right side but danger lurks just past it with a narrow landing area between two sets of bunkers to reach the green. The final challenge is a ridge running down the center of the green which makes approach shots and putting treacherous. - Roger Lowe
