Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee A simple but deceptive tree lined opening par four which slopes gently uphill from tee to green,
From The Fairway where a strategically placed fairway bunker and small copse of trees makes you think about your club selection for your opening drive.
On The Green An uphill approach shot to the green will find it protected by three deep pot bunkers, anything long or wide left will catch the open ditch which horseshoes the green to the rear, beyond the ditch the tree line is still in play waiting to punish a misjudged approach. 1st and 10th tees are shared.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee A super driving hole, where a relatively straight drive will be rewarded. However anything else will end up in trouble, whether it be trees, ditches, deep rough open swail or out of bounds, which runs the full length of the hole on your right-hand side.
From The Fairway
On The Green The approach shot to the large green cut into the hill is very inviting, though the hidden pot bunker pin high and the open ditch in play to the left and back of the green make you have to think about club selection and accuracy. Lots of slopes on the green to challenge the best of putters. Separate tees for the 2nd and 11th holes bring the out of bounds more into play second time round which just
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee This testing short par three measuring 164 yards is well protected, broom and gorse protects
From The Fairway
On The Green the approach of the green with two well positioned greenside bunkers waiting to catch any slightly wayward approaches. A generous green sloping slightly downhill from left to right rewards confident putting with the difference of a par or better coming down to getting your tee shot in the right position. 3rd and 12th Tees shared.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee Placement of your drive is important on this difficult hole.
From The Fairway A dog leg fairway requires a drive to be placed correctly to give you the best view of the green for your approach shot. The fairway is split by a open ditch and steep incline,
On The Green from the landing area at the base of the hill on the first section of fairway your approach is all uphill to a generous green. This is the only hole on the course which does not have any bunkers however trouble awaits with swails, small pond, open ditches, trees and out of bounds making it one of the more difficult holes on the course to play. 4th and 13th Tees are shared.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee An elevated tee gives you great views of this stunning hole and the Eildon Hills beyond, a short hole filled with lots of hazards to trip up any golfer.
From The Fairway From the tee you play to a generous fairway some 30 feet below, out of bounds on the right runs the full length of the hole, a small burn runs across the front of the fairway and down the left of the hole feeding a pond within driving distance, from the pond the burn runs back across the front of the green and tight round the right of the green ready to catch any slightly misjudged approaches.
On The Green Two greenside bunkers and thick gorse six feet through the green gives you no room to get your club selection wrong on this approach. A beautiful hole to view can prove to be more difficult to play, 5th and 14th Tees shared.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole is all about getting the drive away.
From The Fairway A difficult tee shot from a tee set back in the trees to a tight fairway protected on both side by trees makes your first shot on this hole essential to get right. Once on this relatively flat fairway your approach shot will face a long thin green protected by three pot bunkers front left, front right and back right.
On The Green A slightly misjudged approach shot will test your short game as the green is raised on the right with a gradual downhill slope on the left with the tree line in play to the rear of the green. 6th and 15th tees shared.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee This slightly dog leg driving hole from left to right protected by out of bounds to
From The Fairway the right and tree lined fairway to the left rewards the brave tee shot. A well positioned fairway bunker awaits to swallow up anything slightly of line but a good drive in the right position is rewarded with a full view of the largest green on the course.
On The Green The large green is protected by three bunkers the largest and deepest hugs half the length of the green on the left with the other two bunkers protecting the green right front and back, a two feet drop off to the green back left makes any misjudged approach a tricky par save. The flat green rewards the good putters. Separate tees for 7th and 16th holes.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A good driving hole with a generous fairway running along the foot of the Eildon Hills,
From The Fairway your drive is blind as the hole slopes down hill around 100 yards from the tee, the fairway is the widest on the course but slopes left to right which adds to the difficulty of your approach shot with the ball being slightly below the level of your feet. This stroke index one hole is all about finding a small green with your long second,
On The Green the green is protected by large bunkers left and right with out of bounds through the green, the green slopes left to right testing a confident putting stroke. Beautiful views and a stunning back drop of the Eildon Hills makes the hardest hole on the course one of the best to play. 8th and 17th Tee shared.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee The final hole is played all down hill from tee to green giving great views of the surrounding countryside from the tee.
From The Fairway Your tee shot needs to find a tight fairway protected for the first 100 yards by rough, trees to the left and out of bounds to the right requires accuracy from the tee, a burn runs down the right of the hole and across the front of the green feeding a pond to the left of the green.
On The Green Two greenside bunkers protect the small green, the deep pot bunker back left can leave you needing a stiff drink in the bar by the time you escape, a four foot drop of at the rear of the green leaves your downhill approach no room for error if you want to finish well. Two separate tees for 9th and 18th holes.
