From The Tee Built in 1988, the Lakes, at 3,542 yards, is the longest of our three nines
From The Fairway Formerly known as the "Conway" nine, the fairways are more wide open than the others
On The Green with the greens having more subtle breaks than on the Valley or Oaks. The Lakes has one of Southern California's 18 toughest holes. The 234 yard, par 3, all carry over water, was voted one of SoCal's 18 toughest by Southland Golf Magazine.

From The Tee "A visually stunning Par 4 from the tee, leaving the player a myriad of options on possibly making par.
From The Fairway The longer hitters carry the upslope in the fairway, and attempt to leave a short iron in their hands. Shorter players have a decision to make from the 185-210 range
On The Green Go for the green and be a hero, or risk splashing your ball with a miss right, into a large water feature. The green complex has six possible pin positions- all unique on how they receive iron shots.”

On The Green 165 and 230 yards. Though you’ll see from the tee a fairly large green, the 3rd green has some of North Ranch’s most difficult slopes and breaks to read, making putting very difficult. Though it is the number 18 handicap hole, par is always a good score on this hole.”

From The Tee Lakes number four is the longest of any par 5 at North Ranch Country Club and is reachable only by the biggest hitters.
From The Fairway A safe drive to the left side of the fairway will keep you out of the hazard looming on the right.
On The Green A layup to the top of the hill is the key for hitting to this massive green that is guarded on the left as well as the front and back right with bunkers.

Hole Name
From The Tee One of the more difficult par 4's on any of the three nines, Lakes 5 is an uphill climb that generally turns you back into the prevailing winds.
From The Fairway Be sure to club up because this approach is deceivingly uphill, into the wind and protected by a false front.
On The Green "Difficult uphill par 4. The wind usually blows hard into the golfer’s face, making the approach play two or three clubs longer than the yardage suggests. A pot bunker on the left side of the green will catch any ball hit near it. The green has three tiers, making the effective landing area much smaller. A par here is a great score!”

On The Green The 2nd shot to a 2-tiered green needs to be accurate. The green is protected by a series of bunkers on the right and can be a difficult scrambling hole if you miss the green left with the green sloping away from you. Although an uphill approach, ideally you want to stay below the hole.”

On The Green A big drive is required to reach the top of the hill to have a clear shot at the green. Choosing the right club on your approach is crucial for this uphill approach to a three-tiered green!
