Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee At 409 yards, this moderate length par 4 is a deceptively difficult looking opening hole. The tee is located over a ravine with a hardwood forest on the right hand side that visibly misdirects golfers straight toward the green.
From The Fairway The fairway however runs far left of center toward a lone out-of-play bunker utilized for orientation and direction. The ideal tee shot is a slight fade with a driver or fairway metal.
On The Green The true difficulty begins with a mid-length approach from a slightly sloping downhill/sidehill lie to a contoured green located across a valley. Bunkers positioned on the right and in the front protect the green.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee A slight dogleg left, this par 4 measures 474 yards. From the tee, a vast waste bunker over two acres in size is set in front of the back tees and guards the corner of the dogleg.
From The Fairway The more you choose to bite off, the more this bunker comes into play. The green, however, is the most memorable aspect of this hole. It is raised above the fairway and has deep bunkers both left and right.
On The Green Bold contours and swales flow throughout the green which is tilted severely from back to front, with a terrace in the centre. This large green contains many smaller greens within. Three putts are very likely if you hit the wrong portion of this green.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee The first of two par 5’s on this nine plays downwind and measures 553 yards with out of bounds all the way down the right side.
From The Fairway It is essentially a straight golf hole that is extremely heavily bunkered with an undulating fairway which will not give up many level lies.
On The Green A good drive will leave a demanding second shot to a well protected landing area leaving a short approach shot to a raised and undulating green that falls from front to back.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee This 299-yard par 4 is a straightforward risk reward hole and can be reached by the adventurous player willing to take out the driver.
From The Fairway There is out of bounds on the right just over the dunes. By far the easiest birdie hole on the course, which makes it extremely difficult, because a 5 (or even higher) is also possible.
On The Green A properly placed tee shot down the left side, perhaps with a fairway metal or long iron, will open up the green for a wedge or sand iron approach.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee This par 3 plays 201 yards down hill to a green with a lot of internal movement. The tee shot is visually deceptive as the green significantly drops off from behind the green, and to the right and left hand sides.
From The Fairway Because of the lack of containment, depth perception is inhibited from the tee. There are two deep bunkers on either side of a narrow approach to the green, and saving par from either of these bunkers would be a great save.
On The Green Club selection will have to be carefully considered given the extreme downhill nature of this hole.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee The second of two par 5’s on this nine measures 577 yards and doglegs to the right at a distance of 300 yards from the tee.
From The Fairway The green is certainly reachable in two if you can carry a hill and get the extra roll you need to see the green. Be aware of the deep valley-of-sin just short of the green, which attracts many errant shots.
On The Green From this position, your third shot, being a chip or a putt, will be extremely difficult. The green is perched on the edge of a ravine and long and or right is dead. Choices are certainly available here as there is a much easier way of arrival.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee This drop shot par 3 of 177 yards is one of the best green locations on the course.
From The Fairway There is a waste style bunker beginning at the forward tee and ending up tight against the green on the left side.
On The Green The long and narrow green angles from left front to right rear and is protected on the front by a deep bunker. Club selection will be very important on this hole.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A par 4, dog-leg right measuring 393 yards, the hole traverses the Otter creek twice; from the tee and again on the approach to the green.
From The Fairway The fairway is substantially lower than the tee, making club selection important. Probably a fairway metal for the better player, which will leave a short iron approach to a green, perched above the creek that runs both in front and all along the left side.
On The Green
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee This 498 yard hole is one of the most difficult holes on the course.
From The Fairway It is basically a straight hole which plays from an elevated tee to a receptive fairway with 3 bunkers on the left side and dunes on the right side.
On The Green The long approach shot will be across a deep ravine to a well protected green.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee This pretty, uphill par 4 of 410 yards is a moderate dogleg to the left which will play much longer than the yardage indicates.
From The Fairway A good drive up the centre will leave a mid iron to an undulating green protected by bunkers on all sides.
On The Green
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee A definite 3 shot par 5 of 562 yards, this long and undulating hole is well bunkered along with a pine forest down the right side.
From The Fairway After a good drive and a strategically placed second shot, the player will be left with a short iron to a highly elevated green protected by extremely deep bunkers in front and on the right.
On The Green
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee A difficult par 3 measuring 214 yards. The green is situated on a plateau above a deep valley at the rear. The tees are perched above a valley which has been converted into a waste style bunker with fescue grass on all the capes.
From The Fairway This bunker starts at the tees and continues all along the left side to the front of the green. There is one pot bunker in the centre front of the green. There is a slight approach area on the right side and the front right that is available for run-ups.
On The Green The green slopes gently from right to left and front to back with subtle motion throughout.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee This 398-yard par 4 plays from elevated tees, and because of this, the tee shot will seem to take forever to land.
From The Fairway The dogleg right fairway plays around a large pond on the right with a naturalized environmentally sensitive area continuing on the right all the way to the green.
On The Green There are 2 bunkers just over the pond. It will take a 280 yard tee shot to clear these bunkers which will leave a short iron to a green set on the side of a hill protected by one bunker just in front. Just over this bunker is the best pin location on this green.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee This 418-yard hole has the widest fairway on the course. It plays along a ravine on the right side and continuing behind the green.
From The Fairway The tee shot is over a naturalized area and across a waste bunker which continues along above the ravine for 260 yards. The fairway has a right to left diagonal ridge across it.
On The Green The further left the tee ball is hit the longer the carry to reach the flat portion of the undulating fairway will be.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee This 469 yard hole is probably the number one stroke hole on the course. It is essentially a straightaway hole and on the left side of the landing area are two “internal” pot bunkers.
From The Fairway
On The Green There is a pine forest all along the right side. The second shot is slightly uphill to a well protected green with bentgrass chipping areas on both sides.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee This par 4 measures 419 yards and will be remembered for the extreme contours of both the fairway and the green. The fairway slopes drastically from right to left.
From The Fairway The approach demands a mid-iron from a sidehill/downhill lie to a well bunkered green which has a bold mound at the rear and moving into the putting surface.
On The Green The resulting contours divide the green into mini-sections. Three putts are a norm on this green but it all depends on your approach.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee An uphill par 3 measuring 178 yards set on the edge of a ravine on the right side.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green is protected by 3 bunkers on the left side and one in the back. Take your par and run.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee This 475 yard hole plays from an elevated tee to a raised, undulating fairway with the irrigation reservoir to the left and the Otter Creek all along the right side of the fairway.
From The Fairway Following a downhill tee shot, the second shot will be played uphill across another creek to a green which peeks around the corner of the large hill on the right.
On The Green There is more room on the left than appears. The more prudent player may choose to lay up leaving a simple approach to the elevated green which falls off to the right and back.
