Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee The opening hole is a straightforward short par 4
From The Fairway with a fairway bunker short right. The prevailing summer wind is into the player off the right.
On The Green The left side of the wide fairway provides the best angle to the two-tiered green which, like most of Donald Ross greens, slopes from back to front. Bunkers guard both sides of the green. Trouble is long and left.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee With a view of Plymouth Bay in the distance, this challenging par 4 requires two solid shots to the green.
From The Fairway
On The Green The summer wind is usually helping off the left. Beware of out of bounds on the left. An ideal approach shot is from the right side to align with the angle of the green. Shots landing short will usually chase onto the green. Bunkers swallow errant shots on both sides of the green.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee This par 3 is the longest and plays slightly uphill. Club up.
From The Fairway
On The Green Viewed from the tee, two bunkers placed 50 yards short of the green make the green appear closer than it is. The green has a slight false front and is tilted toward the ocean, back-right to front-left. A bunker sits greenside left. Out of bounds is left of the cart path.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee The left side provides the best angle into this long, narrow,
From The Fairway but relatively flat green. The fairway of this par 4 runs out at about 130 yards from the green, so long hitters may want to club down off the tee to avoid the deep valley that crosses the fairway there.
On The Green Your approach shot must avoid the severe drop immediately adjacent to the green on the right. A bunker is green-side, left.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A wide fairway slopes slightly left to right. A drive down the left side is ideal.
On The Green A fairway bunker pinches in from the right at about 140 yards from the green. Drives settling on the right side of the fairway usually leave a blind second shot. The picturesque approach is downhill to a natural bowl where the undulating green slopes back to front. Chips or putts from short-right of the green will have to deal with a pronounced ridge that runs from the right edge into the middle o
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee This beautifully designed short “risk/reward” par 4 can be a good scoring hole. It offers a generous landing area about 100 yards from the green.
From The Fairway
On The Green Long hitters may try to drive the small hillside green, but it is protected in front by two pot bunkers. Uphill approach shots with too much spin may roll off the front of the green. Missing long and/or left is no good because the green slopes severely back to front, making it a very tough up-and-down.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee The strength of this relatively short yet challenging par 4 is the green complex.
From The Fairway
On The Green The small turtle-back green sits on top of a large mound. A false front and severe slope defend this hole against par. You will want to be on the side with the flag otherwise you will have to navigate over a back to front ridge that runs through the middle of the green. Rough is maintained on the steep hill in front of the green catching short approach shots. Avoid going long. A treacherous chip o
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee The shortest par 3 features a two-tier green with another false front, surrounded by 3 bunkers.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green is bisected by a slope that creates the upper (back) and lower (front) tiers. It is better to be short on this hole as shots over the back make for an almost impossible up-and-down.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The 9th fairway runs out at about 140 yards from the large green.
On The Green Your downhill approach over a water hazard must avoid two green-side bunkers placed right and long. A natural mound deflects approach shots left of the green. The green slopes a bit from back to front, with a low area back-left, but the green is mostly flat in the front.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee Tee shots must carry a water hazard on this medium length par 3.
From The Fairway
On The Green A bunker short left and greenside right frame a large green which slopes gently from back to front, with increasing slope closer to the false front.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee This difficult par 4 is well-bunkered along the right side.
From The Fairway The rolling hills may leave some uneven fairway lies. Approaches landing short of the green will usually stop on the front slope leaving an uphill chip.
On The Green The green is generally sloped back to front with a plateau in the back.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole's length makes it the #1 handicap hole.
From The Fairway An ideal drive on this beautiful yet stout par 4 is one down the left edge of the fairway where it can usually benefit from the fairway slope to gain some welcome extra yardage.
On The Green The long green is bunkered on both sides. Sloping from back to front, the green is designed to accept long approach shots.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee The 13th is a good scoring hole. Drives down the left side will be rewarded with a short approach and a good angle to a receptive green
From The Fairway . Drives too far right may roll into the rough with the slope of the fairway. The green is well-bunkered,
On The Green with one deception bunker on the right placed 20 yards short of the green. Out of bounds is long and right.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway Your drive is to a wide fairway on this medium-length uphill par 4. Out of bounds is along the right side.
On The Green Drives short of the hill may leave a blind approach shot. A bunker sits short and left of the green. Small yet tricky mounds challenge chips on the green-side right. Over the back is no good because the green slopes severely back to front.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee With the clubhouse in the background, a precise tee shot is required on this challenging long par 3.
From The Fairway
On The Green Tee shots are usually into the prevailing west-southwest wind. Bunkers are placed on both sides of this slightly elevated green.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee The only par 5 on the course provides an ample landing area off the tee. After a good drive,
From The Fairway a well struck second shot should clear a pair of bunkers that narrow the fairway at about 160 yards from the green, leaving a short wedge in.
On The Green The elevated green has bunkers left and right. A false front repels short approach shots often causing them to roll down the tightly mown fairway in front of the green. Over the green or left is big trouble.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee This picturesque par 4 is a sharp dogleg left. A long tee shot is needed to clear the trees that block your approach at the corner.
From The Fairway A perfect drive is a draw to a flat landing zone. If a short drive forces you to lay up, avoid the small stream that runs across the fairway at about 90 yards from the green.
On The Green The long yet narrow green is elevated with no room for error on the right. The green also slopes significantly back to front. This is the only hole on the course without a bunker.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The home hole turns gently left toward the clubhouse.
From The Fairway An ideal tee shot will land on top of the plateaued fairway past the left bunker. The approach shot is to a large elevated green that is protected by bunkers both left and right.
On The Green Short approach shots will hang up in the rough in front of the green. Although the large green appears to slope significantly from back to front, most missed putts tend to over-read that break.
