From The Fairway Although not a long opening hole, can prove to be tricky. It is essential your tee shot is far enough back from the large tree in order to get over it on your second shot. Less is more on this hole so keep your driver in the bag!
From The Tee A picturesque, but deceiving hole. Be sure to work out which way the wind is blowing before you get to the tee, as you are sheltered by all the surrounding trees.
From The Fairway
On The Green A long green from front to back and club selection can vary greatly depending on pin position.
From The Fairway An extremely testing hole. Play is a lot longer than it’s yardage on the card as its uphill all the way. Trees run all the way up both sides of the fairway so you have to be straight when playing this daunting tee shot.
On The Green Often better to play 2 clubs more than what you think your second shot is, but beware, go long and you’ll do well to stay on the green when chipping back on this quick sloping green.
From The Tee With a ditch running 50 yards in front of the green and trees very much coming into play accuracy is far more important than distance.
From The Fairway Aim up the left and the ball feeds down the slope to give a short second shot. Again aim left as the ball feeds in from this side and the ball is always below your feet.
From The Tee A very pretty hole with a small target and lots of water. A properly struck shot will see your ball clear the water with ease, get it wrong though and you’ll be swimming with the ducks!
From The Tee A tight tee shot but important to get enough length as again it is uphill and all carry.
From The Fairway The ditch running across the fairway will only come into play with a miss hit second shot. Again, take more club than usual when playing your approach shot.
From The Tee A short par 5 where you can look to maybe pick up a shot. The key to this hole is your second shot over the trees. Clear them and you’re in good position, but be careful not to bite off more than you can chew!
From The Tee Having to lay up short of the ditch and trees gives you a fairly long approach. Aim up the right as everything slopes down to the lateral water hazard on your left. A deceivingly hard hole.
From The Tee A row of tall trees guards the start of the fairway so a good hit is needed to clear them.
From The Fairway If you manage to do this and avoid the trees on the right and heavy rough on the left make sure you don’t over club for your approach as this green runs away from you from front to back and can be very hard to hold.
On The Green An extremely long par 3. Playing to a relatively flat green, it is protected by bunkers left and right. Walk off with a par on this one and you’ll be grinning all the way to the 11th tee.
From The Fairway Quite simply a beautiful hole. You start this long par 5 hitting downhill to a narrow fairway.
On The Green A good second shot will put you in position to attack this very long green. Accuracy is key as stray left or right and you might have to reload several times!
From The Tee With the trees tight to the left of the fairway, it is essential you hit an accurate tee shot.
From The Fairway No hybrids off this tee though as this hole is a monster at 452 yards off the whites! Water on the right and a ditch on the left gives a long tough second shot.
From The Tee A very long par 4 which dog legs from left to right with out of bounds all the way up the right. The further left you go keeps your ball in play but makes your second shot extremely long and uphill. Walk off with a par on this one and it’ll feel like a birdie.
On The Green Another long par 3, hitting down to a well guarded green. Miss it right and your left with an awkward up and down. Hit the green and there’s a good chance of a magical 2!
From The Fairway Birdie time! Not the most challenging of tee shots; hitting a good drive will usually secure a relatively short second shot into the green. Aim up the right and you’ll see your ball feed in to give you a good chance of a 3.
From The Tee Pontardawe’s signature ‘pulpit’ hole. A short but demanding par 4 gives a great chance of birdie but can also destroy a good card.
From The Fairway
On The Green Out of bounds on the left, trees on the right and a ditch to clear means that this hole is all about an accurate and long tee shot. Driveable for the big hitters!
From The Tee A short but challenging closing hole. A sharp dog leg left means you have to hit the ball long and straight in order to not block yourself off from the green.
From The Fairway A very long green means you have to take enough club to get the ball all the way up to the pin.
On The Green Potentially a birdie chance if you have the confidence to take one club more, keep your head down follow through!
