Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway An intimidating tee shot with the estuary all the way up the right-hand side. The fairway is wider than you think but you don’t want to get caught up in one of the three bunkers on the left side of the fairway, which will make getting a par difficult. The green is 41 yards long and is protected by a bunker short left and another that eats in on the right side so an accurate approach is key to gett

Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee A deceptive hole which requires, and accurate tee shot. A good line from the tee is the two bunkers short right of the green. For the longer hitters this may not be a driver and instead play to your preferred yardage. The green is 41 yards long with a false front and a tier running through the middle. The back portion of the green is 17 yards with a sharp run off so getting your distance right is

From The Tee
From The Fairway The ideal line is the right half of the fairway, as near as possible to the estuary. Left should be avoided at all costs. A long iron or fairway wood is often the wisest choice. The fairway cross bunker foreshortens the view to the green. The green is 34 yards long and hidden from your view so ensure you have enough club to reach the green.

Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This is the toughest ranked hole on the course. This hole requires a long accurate tee shot, favouring the right half of the fairway, as going left will block out any view of the green. You will be left with a long second shot into a large green that is 38 yards in length with plenty of subtle borrows. Aim for the middle of the green. A 4 here is always a good score!

Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This is a blind tee shot with the fairway nestled in a natural amphitheatre. A good line is the two chimney stacks in the distance. The green is protected by a severe mound on the right and slopes back to front. The green is 35 yards long with the trickier pin position on the right side as the mound comes into play. The back tee has a fantastic view of Portmarnock beach, the Irish Sea and Howth Hea

Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee This is the longest hole on the course measuring over 600 yards. For most three long accurate shots will be required. A long straight tee shot is required, and it is best to favour the right half of the fairway and the left will feed towards that bunker. The longer hitters can go for green in two but will need to flirt with the bunker on right hand side as the green slopes back right to front left

Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee The first of three great short holes. Be careful when selecting your club here, as it’s played from an elevated tee it plays shorter than its yardage would suggest and even more so when downwind. The most difficult pin position is back right as the shoulder of the bunker feeds in onto the green. The green is 43 yards long and tricky with plenty of slope so give enough break on your putt.

Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee The two chimney stacks in the distance are a good line to take from the tee as it will bring you down the right half of the fairway. There is a depression down the left that needs to be avoided as the angle to the green is very narrow. The green is 35 yards long with a narrow entrance guarded by a bunker on the left and a sharp run off to the right. Always favour towards the inside of the flag as

Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee This is a tough par four to finish the front nine. There are two bunkers down the left and one down the right that need to be avoided from the tee to give you a chance of going for the green in two. The green is slightly elevated and not the longest at 32 yards. It is well protected by two bunkers on the right and a runoff to the left side of the green. There is a ridge running across the fairway

Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee This is a devilish green with a sharp slope at the front, a large mound on the right side and plenty of slopes throughout the green. The middle of the green is always a good play as the back right portion is very narrow. Trust your yardage, then select your club taking the wind conditions into account. A Par is always a good score.

From The Tee
From The Fairway Another long Par 5, with plenty of well-placed bunkers to catch any loose drives. The left half of the fairway gives the best angle to the green, but the 4 bunkers must be avoided. The approach is slightly blind with the middle of the green a good line. The ball will feed into green from the fairway, but anything right is sure to find one of the “Five Pennies” bunkers and there is another large bun

Hole 16

From The Tee This Par 5 is a slight dogleg to the right with the green very reachable in two. The Ideal line from the tee is to skirt with the bunkers on the right as the slope will feed the ball back towards the centre of the fairway. If you go too far left, there is a bunker waiting. The green is not the longest at 30 yards but is very tricky with a lot of slope from back to front and left to right. The appr

From The Tee
From The Fairway This a great challenging hole to finish your round. The right side of the fairway gives the best angle into the green, but the left half is safer as it takes the three deep pot bunkers down the right out of play. A good drive should leave you a mid-iron approach to an elevated green, which is protected by three deep bunkers and gorse, all representing the final challenge.
