Hole 1
Hole Name The Mill
From The Tee Straight and forgiving starting Par 5, from an elevated tee in front of the clubhouse.
From The Fairway
On The Green Plenty of room down the middle. A wayward drive right, towards the lake, is unlikely to pass the “known or virtually certain” test. Play a provision ball! Left or front pin placement can be concealed by the raised mound, set forward of the double-pitched green. Small pot bunker protects a pin placement at back right. Short, steep, down-slope behind the green.
Hole 2
Hole Name Adventure
From The Tee Long and demanding, with gully and trees both sides.
From The Fairway
On The Green Aim for the two conical trees and drive straight and long to the hidden landing area over the low crest that curves away from centre to right side. Short of the crest will prO-Bably bounce right, down the slope towards trees; long and left creates an awkward dog-leg to the green. An approach shot that slides right leaves an uncomfortable chip from amongst trees. Up-sloping green with a shallow bun
Hole 3
Hole Name Plateau
From The Tee
From The Fairway Curved and crested fairway with several risk and reward challenges.
On The Green Often plays longer than expected, through the prevailing wind-effect on approach shots. Precision tee shot required, to the top of the rise on the left side. Very long, narrow, sloping green tucked around trees to the right. Miss the green on the left side and face a very difficult “up and down”.
Hole 4
Hole Name David
From The Tee Over the lake, to a deceptive two-level green, protected by
From The Fairway
On The Green 2 bunkers on the left. Steep mounds and long-cut rough, make chipping tricky from back and right. Local knowledge useful for reading the “borrow” on this green.
Hole 5
Hole Name Goliath
From The Tee Long and straight, downhill off the tee.
From The Fairway Strategically placed trees on the left side, and the prevailing crosswind, entice tee and fairway shots towards the out of bounds running the full length on the right.
On The Green Beware of the grove of trees short of the green on the right. Drive to centre-right and second shot to centre-left, gives the best line to the unusual two-sided green with a longitudinal ridge. Down-slope and out-of-bounds back left of the green, to catch an over-hit approach.
Hole 6
Hole Name The Dive
From The Tee The hole with a piece of everything!
From The Fairway Into the prevailing westerly wind, from any of the three elevated teeing grounds, and over the large lake that ends near a bunker tucked into the left of the crescent-shaped green. The narrow “bail-out” fairway is protected by long-cut rough and the out of bounds fence running along the right side and behind the green. The direct line to the “classic” pin placement, at back-left and behind the bun
On The Green The narrow “bail-out” fairway is protected by long-cut rough and the out of bounds fence running along the right side and behind the green. The direct line to the “classic” pin placement, at back-left and behind the bunker, requires total distance “carry”.
Hole 7
Hole Name Waterloo
From The Tee Dogleg right, around a grove of tall trees,
From The Fairway which will hide the green if your tee shot is to the right. Tee shot needs to be up the rise, to centre-left of the plateau, leaving a short to mid-iron approach shot to a large flat green, protected by raised left and right front bunkers.
On The Green protected by raised left and right front bunkers.
Hole 8
Hole Name Hillside
From The Tee Several challenges give this hole a deserved low stroke rating.
From The Fairway An accurate tee shot required to line up the gap between tall trees, so to reach a long and elevated two-tier green. A small mound on the left protects the top tier; miss the green short left,
On The Green for a challenging chip, particularly if the pin is on the lower tier. Alternatively, miss on the right, and face a shallow green-side bunker or wider on the right, a concealed hazard lake.
Hole 9
Hole Name Deception
From The Tee Slight dogleg left over a low crest.
From The Fairway The only hole with out of bounds on the left side, also behind the green, below the clubhouse.
On The Green The tee shot will tend to slide right, towards trees. Front bunkers, left and right, protect a wide, oval-shaped green with some deceptive “borrow”.
Hole 10
Hole Name Newhope
From The Tee Long and straight, into the prevailing wind; two great shots
From The Fairway (women three) required, to reach this green. From the joined tee-block in front of the clubhouse, the large tree dominating the left side,
On The Green and the ground contour, tend to slide tee shots to the right. Semi-blind second shot (ladies third) to a long and narrow green, with mounds along both sides and subtle “borrow” to the right. Arguably the most satisfying par hole on the course.
Hole 11
Hole Name Slippery
From The Tee Shallow, wide and undulating green, set diagonally to, and slightly below the tee.
From The Fairway Deep bunkers at the left end and right front with twin grassed hollows at the back.
On The Green Beware that subtle tee and pin placements on this hole can create deceptive playing distances.
Hole 12
Hole Name Lookout
From The Tee
From The Fairway Slightly “S” shaped fairway, with gully and trees on both sides. From the elevated tee,
On The Green fade the drive to centre-right for the best angle of approach to a long, diagonally-set “horizon” green, protected by a small raised bunker at mid-left. Miss the green on the right side, or over the back, for a testing uphill recovery.
Hole 13
Hole Name Narrow Neck
From The Tee Downhill, from a large teeing ground; choices are to go straight,
From The Fairway over the lake in the left side of the fairway at drive length, or to angle slightly right, towards and short of the large fairway bunker a little further on.
On The Green The further right, the longer the deceptive flat approach into the prevailing wind. Out of bounds, in the creek under trees on the right, also surrounding the large up-sloping green, with a large shallow bunker along the left side.
Hole 14
Hole Name Becher's
From The Tee Long and flat, with intimidating tee shot through a gap,
From The Fairway
On The Green from a loop of the creek, over another loop, which is part of the out of bounds, also running down the right side. Miss on the right, for a character-building pitch over a shallow bunker, towards the lake tucked close to the left side of the up-sloping green.
Hole 15
Hole Name Upshot
From The Tee Almost straight, with trees and out of bounds all the way on the right. Drive to the top of the rise, or face a semi-blind second shot. An approach shot hit left, or over-long, is likely to be in big trouble, with a gully and trees close to the back left of a deceptively long green, set on a diagonal and protected by a small bunker at front-right and a larger and deeper bunker at mid-left. Big and

Hole 16
Hole Name Hilltop
From The Tee Uphill, over a diagonal gully, through a gap between tall trees.
From The Fairway Very long, rising, two-level green forming a narrow “figure 8” shape, with bunkers each side, and mounds encircling the back.
On The Green Tee shot to the right, if not out of bounds, gives a difficult, blind uphill pitch. Front pin placement can be a severe test of short-game skill. A hole where correct club selection and a straight tee-shot, is rewarded.
Hole 17
Hole Name Temptation
From The Tee
From The Fairway From an elevated tee to a rising fairway, with out of bounds all the way on the right, under large trees.
On The Green Fade the tee shot to centre-right and, on the shortest par 5, be tempted to go for a birdie or eagle. Longest green on the course; rising and crested, with a small bunker on each side.
Hole 18
Hole Name Au Revoir
From The Tee Fairway aligned away from H/way 22,
From The Fairway then bends slightly right, with out of bounds in the double row of trees on the right. Keep left of the fairway bunker trio at drive length.
On The Green Second shot to centre-right is the best line to approach the small vase-shaped green, with out of bounds close to both the right side and the back. Shallow bunker at front right, and a large high-faced bunker along the left side.
