Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee A friendly opening hole. From the tee there is a magnificent view of the dam, as the fairway heads downhill with a sharp dogleg to the right.
From The Fairway The green is accessible from the tee for only the longest of hitters but is well protected by the front greenside bunker.
On The Green With water left and out of bounds right the safest option is to hit to the corner, leaving a wedge into an elevated green. Those who miss the green left seldom make par.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This dogleg left requires a well-placed tee shot with a narrow landing area to aim for between the water and fairway bunker on the left and out of bounds on the right.
On The Green A narrow back to front sloping green with a left greenside bunker awaits. Miss this raised green long or right and find yourself in the Plenty River.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee Although the short third requires little more an eight or nine iron for the better golfers, miss the green and you will have difficulty saving par.
From The Fairway
On The Green The large green is guarded by bunkers to the front and left. Overclub and you will end up in the swale at the rear of the green. Front and left of the green is the only safe place to miss this green.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee This tough par 4 from an elevated tee requires a well-positioned drive left of centre to allow for an ideal approach shot into the green.
From The Fairway From here you will be heading back uphill where the fairway in front of the green slopes severely left to right. Bunkering front left and to the right make it difficult to hold this green in two. Miss the green and it will make for a difficult up and down.
On The Green
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee A testing par 4 from the black markers and a short par 5 from the red markers. A wide fairway awaits with the best position being down the left hand side.
From The Fairway The fairway feeds right to left which aids the player. However, the key to the hole is the shot into the back to front and right to left sloping green. There is a right green side bunker but the real trouble is if you miss long or left.
On The Green
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole can play deceptively long into a prevailing southerly breeze. The green slopes off the right hand side and is one of the longest, depth wise, making it difficult to judge pin placement.
From The Fairway There is a large bunker to the left and two to the right, so club selection and ball placement is vital. The ideal shot shape is a draw off the right bunkers.
On The Green
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole demands an accurate tee shot, as errant tee shots will find the tree’s leaving a colossal second shot to make the green. The green is fairly open with a shallow right greenside bunker.
From The Fairway
On The Green
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A long drive here can roll over the hill and create a birdie opportunity. Be short and left and you may not be able to reach the green for two.
From The Fairway From the red tees, a drive down left of centre will gain maximum value from the hill setting up a shorter approach. The approach demands precision as the Plenty River awaits on the right as does a bunker on the left.
On The Green
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee As you stand on the tee, take the opportunity to admire the view. With one of the widest fairways on the course, an errant drive can still be rewarding but be aware of the large fairway bunker on the left and the river on the right.
From The Fairway Take on the river and this uphill par 5 can be reached in two for the long hitters. Be mindful that the river on the right extends all the way to the green.
On The Green Avoid the fairway bunker that is situated on the top left hand side about 60 metres from the green. A generous elevated green running back to front is protected by bunkers either side and behind.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee The longest of the par 3’s at Rosanna. Left off the tee will pull the ball up quickly in the heavy rough and a sloping back to front green is well guarded by a treacherous deep bunker on the left. The safest line is to aim to the front right side of the green. Par is always a good score here.
From The Fairway
On The Green
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This testing par 4 requires a right to left shaped drive to be well positioned for the approach.
On The Green Hit it too far right and you will find the river that runs the length of the hole. The green slopes back to front with a greenside bunker on the right.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee Position from the tee is paramount to allow any chance for the long hitters to reach the green under regulation. A drive to the right centre of the fairway avoiding the right fairway bunker will set up the best line to the green.
From The Fairway Tee shots to the left will be blocked by the trees forcing you to shape your second shot strongly right to left. With an undulating approach to this raised green, be sure not to find the deep right greenside bunker. Anything long finds a steep slope that runs into a gully.
On The Green
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee With an undulating approach to this raised green, be sure not to find the deep right greenside bunker. Anything long finds a steep slope that runs into a gully.
From The Fairway Fairway bunkers to the left and right demand a precise drive. The entrance to the green is slightly narrowed with bunkers to the right just short of the green and greenside. A left greenside bunker also guards the green.
On The Green
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee A drive finishing right of centre here is ideal and will set up a birdie opportunity.
From The Fairway
On The Green The green slopes back to front and left to right. Bunkers surround front left and back right. Avoid overclubbing or you will find a very steep slope that runs into a deep gully, making it difficult to save par.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee The last of the par 3’s has a deep green that slopes sharply from right to left and is heavily bunkered on the left. Miss the green right and you will face a tough test of touch with your recovery.
From The Fairway
On The Green
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole requires a lengthy tee shot to give you any hope of reaching the green in two.
From The Fairway
On The Green You will have to negotiate a sizeable fairway bunker on the left, 50 metres from the green. Two deep greenside bunkers guard the right of this large green, a feature of which is a large swale half way up the left of the green, which can channel the ball off the green.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A drive left of centre will leave an ideal approach. From here, the back to front elevated green requires a high approach shot to avoid the front right bunker. The left side of the green slopes away, leading to another greenside bunker.
On The Green
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee Approaching the final hole, you are presented with a drive over the picturesque dam. Avoid the left hand side as balls tend to run towards the river.
From The Fairway If laying up, it is best to be on the left hand side avoiding the central fairway bunker 80 metres from the green. This will open up an approach shot to a receptive two tiered green protected by bunkers on the left and right.
On The Green Those who find themselves in the deep bunker on the right have a tough time saving par.
