Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee The centerpiece of Roxiticus Golf Club is its challenging, 18-hole course designed by the legendary Hal Purdy. The meticulously manicured course is rated 72.5/135 and stretches 6.521 yards through nearly 200 acres of hilly woodlands and nine spring-fed ponds.
From The Fairway
On The Green A fully equipped golf shop, driving range, two putting greens, short game practice area, and indoor range “tech center” are also available for members and their guests.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee With a hazard down the left side and a grove of trees on the right, this is one of the more demanding tee shots on the course.
From The Fairway Any ball in the fairway leaves you with a second that requires a carry over a horseshoe-shaped pond.
On The Green The third plays uphill to a large green that slopes back to front. Keep it below the hole here for your best chance to sink a putt.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee On this the longest of the five par 3’s on the course, par is a good score.
From The Fairway
On The Green If the course is dry, use the slope on the left side and play short of this green and the ball will roll onto the putting surface. The hidden left-side bunker is a popular spot, but makes for a difficult up and in.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee One of the more challenging holes on the course, this beast of a par 4 plays all uphill.
From The Fairway A well-positioned tee shot will be played up the left side so as to hold the fairway and avoid heavy rough and a hazard that runs along the right side.
On The Green Take at least one extra club on your second and aim towards the left side of the green, as everything runs sharply left to right on the putting surface.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A reachable par 5 for big hitters, this hole has a generous fairway.
On The Green The hill on the right will help the occasional push or slice bounce down toward the fairway. A well-positioned lay-up or a big carry is crucial as water comes into play on the second. On a green that slopes from left to right and back to front, keep the ball below the hole for your best chance.
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee A beautiful par 3, this hole requires a well-struck iron or hybrid to
From The Fairway
On The Green carry onto the green. The bunkers are a popular spot here, and leave a relatively good chance to save par. If the pin is towards the back of the green, be sure to keep your tee shot short of the hole, as anything behind the hole makes for a very difficult chip or putt.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee Don’t be misled by the yardage on this par 4, as it plays much longer than it reads.
From The Fairway
On The Green A good tee shot will find itself at the corner of the dogleg, with a difficult lie that will place the ball above your feet. Make sure to take enough club for your second and avoid the false-front of this two-tiered green, as balls that come off the green will require a twenty yard pitch just to get back to the putting surface.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A true risk-reward drivable par 4 for the longer hitters, the drive must avoid two strategically placed trees and well-placed greenside bunkers to have a chance.
From The Fairway For those not going for the green, choose your line off the tee carefully to find either the upper or lower fairway. A properly placed tee shot leaves a relatively simple second.
On The Green The fun starts here though, as this is one of the most undulating greens on the course. Two-putt this green for a 4 and walk to the 9th with a smile.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee The front 9 finishes with the shortest of the five par 3’s. Only a short iron is needed, but finding the correct tier is the challenge.
From The Fairway
On The Green The ridge that runs diagonally across the green will catch any ball that does not carry well up onto the tier. If the pin is down below, a birdie or par is realistic; if it is up top, an uphill two-putt is no easy task.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee The back nine opens with a demanding tee shot that must avoid trees on the right,
From The Fairway bunkers both left and right, and has a fairway that slopes towards the brush on the left. Once in the fairway you’re left with a straight-forward second shot that is played to a relatively
On The Green flat green. Don’t miss your second left however, as you may be left with a very difficult, blind up and down.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee Take a moment and enjoy the beautiful vista from the tee of this short par 4—
From The Fairway
On The Green it’s one of the best views in all of New Jersey. Big hitters can let 'er rip here, as there is plenty of room right off the tee. A mid to short iron is all that is needed for the second that should leave a good chance for birdie.. Be careful on the green though, as this is one of the harder greens to read with many subtle breaks.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee A visually stunning hole, this gem of a par 3 has an elevation change of nearly 200 feet. Pulling the right club here is the real challenge, as there is also a pond and a creek to avoid down by the putting surface.
From The Fairway
On The Green Once on the green, be cautious of putts from back to front, as balls like to race toward the water.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee Roxiticus’ own "Amen Corner" begins with a superb par 4
From The Fairway that will challenge all skill levels. With a creek looming down the left side, favor the right side of the fairway where a large hill will help guide tee shots back down to a flat lie. For shorter hitters, a pond and a creek will challenge the player on their second.
On The Green A multi-tiered green requires an extra club on the approach and putting from the correct level is a necessity if you want to leave with a par.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee Be sure to find the fairway off the tee here, as this hole gets more difficult the closer you get to the green.
From The Fairway A true three-shot par-5 except for the longest of hitters, the second shot plays to a rolling fairway that runs toward a pond fronting the putting surface.
On The Green Be sure to take enough club for your next, as any ball landing on the front third of the green will surely roll off the front, leaving a devilishly tough pitch.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee While longer hitters need to be aware of two hidden ponds—
From The Fairway one on the left and one on the right side down the hill—shorter players can use the slope to get down to the flat part of the fairway.
On The Green Accuracy off the tee is key here, and a ball down the hill leaves a fairly simple second to a deceptively difficult green that can be hard to read.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee The last of the five par 3’s, players are confronted with a false front that is responsible for having many who hit the green need to play a chip for their second .
From The Fairway
On The Green Carry the ball well into this shallow green, as a shot a little too long has a good chance of coming back onto the putting surface. All putts on this green will break toward the bottom of the hill.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee The climb up to the clubhouse begins here with a tough, scenic uphill par 4.
From The Fairway A well-positioned drive will avoid the fairway bunker up the left side to gain the best look into
On The Green this green. Take at least one more club on your second, and be conscious where the hole location is. This green runs fast from back to front.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee A strong finish, this home hole plays all uphill to one of the more difficult greens on the course.
From The Fairway A narrow, sloping fairway awaits a tee shot that must avoid two fairway bunkers to have a shot at being on
On The Green the green in two. The back right hole location is the toughest on the course, and if there, a par 4 is a great score.
