Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee A straightforward opening hole which requires an accurate drive down the middle for your first tee shot of the round. There is out of bounds on the left, protected by trees, and on the right more trees and bushes

Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee A good par 3 with an elevated green which is protected by two deep bunkers at the front. The green slopes gently from the back to the front. Club selection is very important as you need to carry the bunkers and avoid overshooting the green as it leaves a difficult chip back, especially when the greens are fast. This hole is an interesting test early on in the round.

Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A short par 4 where the fairway slopes from left to right and quite often the prevailing westerly wind is also blowing from left to right. Just to add to the challenge there are two fairway bunkers tucked away on the right which gather anything which is hit slightly off line.

Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This appears to be a straightforward par four with a blind tee shot over a well-positioned marker post. Once you’ve made your way up to the plateau of the hill you will hopefully find your ball on the fairway, but don’t be too surprised if you find an awkward lie among the humps and hollows which are a legacy of the old ironstone mines below the Hob Hill area. This is all part of the testing chara

Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee At first glance from the tee box this appears to be a relatively straightforward short par 4, however there are a series of challenges to negotiate. About 50yds from the hidden green there are left and right fairway bunkers ready to gobble up the ambitious yet errant tee shot.

Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee A good drive towards the marker post will take you onto the top of Hob Hill, which gives a clear view of the green below. Your second needs to be a controlled approach as the green falls away sharply to the left and back. If you drop short then the ball may not reach, however if you overshoot the green you may have a testing chip back to get close to the flag.

Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The longest and toughest par 4 on the course, where a bogey is often very acceptable. From the slightly elevated tee you get a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside and the layout of the 7th hole. There are bunkers on the left and right of the fairway which are in range off the tee, so straight hitting is a real advantage!

Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A short par 4 which is a risk and reward hole that requires a carefully considered tee shot as you can see that there is a steep slope down to the right and a line of trees to the left. For the longer hitters a tee shot to the left of the marker post is the line to get it onto the green but if you err slightly then your ball can end up down to the right towards the woodland. The safer shot is to f

Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee A really interesting par 3 where the green has been formed onto the side of the hill. To help focus your mind all the trouble is on the left with out of bounds next to the woodland and two deep bunkers on the left side of the green, which is narrow but quite deep.

Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A straight, flat, medium length par 4 with out of bounds on the left, so you need to favour the right side of the fairway off the tee. This in turn helps open up the green and gives a much better line to the pin between the left and right greenside bunkers. The green is relatively flat so it should be a simple two putts!
On The Green
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee A challenging uphill par 4 which plays longer than it appears. From the tee you can see all of the hole gently rising up the slope. Again, out of bounds is on the left but is helpfully guarded along its length by a fir tree plantation. The courageous line from the tee is to the left side of the fairway as it gives you a much easier approach to the green, however a bit too far left will find you th

Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee A really good par 3 at over 200 yards which is considered by many as the signature hole of the course as it is very picturesque and challenging. The green and the fairway on both sides are surrounded by a variety of native and recently planted trees creating an avenue leading your gaze to the flag.

Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee The first of the two par 5s in the back nine. From the elevated tee your first shot can be somewhat testing if the prevailing wind is blowing as there is a stand of trees on the left and thickets of bushes on the right all waiting to catch misdirected drives.

Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway A straight medium length par 4 which requires a drive up the middle of the fairway, bisecting the two copses of trees on both left and right. Straight hitting is a real advantage on the tee shot and for the big hitters there is a fairway bunkers about 80 yards from the green just to make you think!

Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The 15th tee is very attractive throughout the year with heathers on the up-slopes, however all is not what it seems as this is a demanding par 4. Standing on the tee the hole ahead looks somewhat daunting as the fairway is lined by trees on both left and right, however a strong straight drive soon sorts it all out!
On The Green
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The second of the par 5s, which appears straightforward but requires some precise golf. The fairway gently slopes from left to right. The best line from the tee is left of centre as there is a copse of well-established fir trees on the right just waiting for any drive which is struck down the right side.

Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This hole gently bears to the right so a tee shot as far left on the fairway as possible is desirable you will have a much easier approach as it opens up the green, however the copse of trees on the left need to be avoided. It is vital not to hit your ball to the right anywhere along this hole as there are gorse bushes which grab any stray balls, never to be seen again. The long hitters need to b

Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee A great finishing par 3. With the Clubhouse and all of Saltburn providing a spectacular back drop to the 18th hole and playing from the elevated tee this final hole is a fantastic ending to what will have hopefully been an enjoyable (yet challenging) round of golf.
