Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee erched high above the first fairway, players will need to adjust to the prevailing wind off of the first tee.
From The Fairway A visually appealing tee shot that offers more relief to the right side than one would think. Balls driven down the left side of the fairway have a tendency to kick right and leave players with a great angle to the green
On The Green Take one extra club when hitting your approach shot due to the green being a slight bit up hill.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee The nickname says it all! This short beauty of a par four requires some decision making off the tee box.
From The Fairway Players have the opportunity to hit a long iron ideally to 200 yards. Their is the option to challenge the corner and the signature fairway oak tree leaving a player a short pitch into the green.
On The Green With a green sloping heavily from back to front, leave yourself with a shot that will produce less spin to allow the golf ball to settle on the upper shelf.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway This long par four requires precision off of the tee with two treacherous bunkers guarding the left side of the fairway.
On The Green Longer hitters that miss right may find themselves blocked behind the lone "crooked pine" that can be seen from the tee box. The approach shot requires full concentration as this green is one of our most challenging. Sloped from back to front and right to left, players should aim for middle right and use the green contours to their advantage. This will allow the ball to funnel towards a usually di
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee A Slightly uphill par three that truly tests accuracy and distance control.
From The Fairway
On The Green With a long narrow green guarded by bunkers on the left and right side, players will need to play a club up to avoid leaving it short and rolling back into the approach area. With a hopeful putt for birdie or par, be aware that the green looks uphill from front to back but will be speedy with the grain running towards the ocean.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee Challenging off the tee with a fairway that is guarded with bunkers left and right, players should favor the left side for a shorter approach shot. Longer hitters can challenge the carry over the left side bunkers; but be aware as this side is heavily tree lined so anything left will lead to trouble
From The Fairway
On The Green A green sloping back to front requires an approach shot that leaves the player with an uphill putt. Above the hole could surely lead to a three putt...or another chip!
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee A forgiving tee shot with lots of room to the right.
From The Fairway The pine trees lining the left side of the fairway guard any attempt to get home in two. Favoring the right side will leave an easier lay-up or longer hitters an opportunity to reach the green
On The Green Be careful not to leave your lay-up shot to the right as another tall pine will keep you blocked from an easier approach. The green is defined by a large bunker left and very tightly cut collection area to the right side. Hitting the green in regulation here is a premium.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee This hole offers great risk and reward when deciding to hit driver.
From The Fairway
On The Green The possibility of having a wedge into a severely sloped green can offer an advantage. Spin control into this green is of upmost importance. With trouble lining the entire right side of the hole, aiming down the left side offers ample room for errant tee shots. If the golf ball ends up above the hole, use caution when hitting the putt back down the slop with the possibility of it running off the f
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee A beautiful par five that offers the player an opportunity to hit an aggressive drive
From The Fairway Favor the left side due to the "Stone Pine" that guards the right side of the fairway.
On The Green Approach shots should be played up the left side which leaves a great angle into the green. Be careful of the pine tree guarding the right side of the approach area, this can lead to the player having to shape a shot around or under to hit the green that is surrounded by bunkers on the right and left side.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee This slightly uphill par three is the perfect hole to end the front nine.
From The Fairway
On The Green Players will need to take one more club as the prevailing wind is normally into the face. With bunkers guarding the left side and long, carry distance is key. With a back to front sloping green, staying below the hole is essential and can offer a great opportunity for birdie. Players that want to find relief long right off of the tee need to be cautious of the lake that is not visible from the tee
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee With on of the best views in Ventura County, and California for that matter, players cannot let themselves get distracted by the beauty of hole ten.
From The Fairway
On The Green A severe downhill par three that requires the player to select a club based off of the wind and conditions. The ball needs to carry over water and hopefully stop short of two daunting bunkers that guard the backside of the green. One of the most exposed areas on the course to the natural elements makes this a tricky one.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway Hitting a drive down the left side of this fairway is key with the fairway sloping to the right significantly.
On The Green Players finding themselves on the right side of the hole will have to maneuver around or under stone pines and eucalyptus trees that line that side of the fairway. The back to front sloping green forces players to hit their shot to the middle or back portion. Anything short of that has a high prO-Bability of leaving the player with a chip shot back to the flag.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee A sharp dogleg right that gives the players who can shape their shots a slight advantage.
From The Fairway
On The Green A long iron or fairway wood straight off the tee leaves a short to mid-iron into the green. Hitting a fade around the corner can cut off a lot of distance and leave a wedge in hand. There are bunkers protecting the left and right of this green. Accuracy and distance control are paramount.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee Another scenic beauty where players have to battle the elements
From The Fairway With the prevailing wind towards the golfer, poorly struck shots will fall short into a large collection area. Two large bunkers guard the left side of the green. Tee shots to the right side of the green have a tendency to release left towards the hole. Although the green appears to slope back to front, due to the grain putting towards the ocean is faster than you'd think.
On The Green
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee How much do you really want to chew off of your tee shot?
From The Fairway
On The Green The further left, the shorter the hole becomes, but the left is guarded by out-of-bounds. One of The Saticoy Club's most scenic holes with a completely unO-Bstructed view of downtown Ventura, the ocean, and the Channel Islands. The second shot here requires focus with trouble down the entire left side of the hole and trees guarding the right. A two-tiered green with bunkers left and a tightly mown
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee A picturesque par four that requires precision off of the tee
From The Fairway The right side is lined with trees as well as two large fairway bunkers. Prime position would be down the left side leaving players with an open approach shot and a great angle.
On The Green The green is protected by a large bunker short right, and slopes back to front. Similar to hole thirteen, the grain will cause the putts towards the ocean to be faster.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee Glory and Agony! Great tee shots will not provide players with an easy par.
From The Fairway Players must navigate the right fairway bunker, along with the two left fairway bunkers that guard this hole. Second shots are uphill,
On The Green resulting in the need for proper club selection, players must control spin as the green is severely sloped from back to front.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee Bombs away! Large fairway, coupled by an elevated teeing ground,
From The Fairway proves players with a free swing for distance. Second shot is uphill to a well-guarded green with bunkers both right and left.
On The Green The green slopes from front to back so players should account for this when selecting the club to approach with.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway Favor the right side of the fairway for the tee shot due to the fairway bunkers and trouble down the left side.
On The Green Second shots must be long enough and down the left side of the fairway to avoid the large tree guarding the right side of the fairway. Lay-up shots too far to the right will result in the players needing to punch their approach shots to a well-protected green complex. Hitting into a green that slopes left to right, and front to back, take one extra club due to elevation.
