Hole 1
Hole Name
From The Tee The course begins with a relatively short par 4 measuring just less than 400 yards from the back tees.
From The Fairway A driver or fairway wood must avoid a pond on the right that narrows the landing area substantially -
On The Green especially for the long drive. Saucon Creek runs behind the green with a bunker guarding the left side and a closely mown area serving as a false side on the front right portion of the green. Looking back from the green, one can view the beautiful slate-roofed barns that were once part of the original Bent Farm.
Hole 2
Hole Name
From The Tee This striking par 3 features a small- to medium-sized green carved out of a hillside with
From The Fairway
On The Green Saucon Creek serving as the border for the front and left side of the putting green and a back-right shelf requiring a very precise tee shot.
Hole 3
Hole Name
From The Tee An uphill par four that plays longer than the actual yardage.
From The Fairway The rough will quickly turn this into a three-shot hole so accuracy off the tee is important.
On The Green The approach to the large, undulating green is usually played with a mid- to long-iron.
Hole 4
Hole Name
From The Tee This medium-length par 4 provides the golfer with the choice of driver or
From The Fairway fairway wood. A longer tee shot must navigate a deep bunker on the left side of the fairway and thick rough on the right.
On The Green The reward is the opportunity to use a short-iron or wedge into a very well-protected putting green. The green complex features a deep greenside bunker on the left and a closely mown area that connects to a small pond on the right side of the putting green. The green is pitched from back to front.
Hole 5
Hole Name
From The Tee The tee shot is from an elevated tee to a green completely surrounded by large bunkers.
From The Fairway The club of choice may range from a mid- to long-iron from the middle tee and a long-iron or fairway wood from the back tee.
On The Green
Hole 6
Hole Name
From The Tee Nestled against the property line, this beautiful par 5 serves as a second and proper nod to Eugene Grace.
From The Fairway After a well-placed tee shot, the second shot must carry the creek, but the decision is how far? Play short of the large elm tree and leave a long- to mid-iron home. Play long and leave a middle- to short-iron, but with less margin for error.
On The Green The large green is protected by the stream across the front, a closely mown fall off on the right, and a greenside bunker on the left.
Hole 7
Hole Name
From The Tee “Cemetery” is a medium-length par 4 named after the small, historic and mostly visible burial ground that golfers can see from the teeing ground.
From The Fairway The fairway bends to the right around two fairway bunkers with a third fairway bunker on the opposite side of the fairway.
On The Green A successfully placed tee shot leaves a middle- to short-iron approach to a uniquely designed green completely surrounded by a closely mown area. This design feature requires a well-struck approach shot.
Hole 8
Hole Name
From The Tee This short par 4 requires each golfer to cross Saucon Creek twice.
From The Fairway The golfer must navigate Saucon Creek on the tee shot, which is played from an elevated teeing ground to a fairway that turns 90 degrees to the right.
On The Green Golfers may choose to cut off a portion on the dogleg by using a driver or play more conservatively with a fairway wood or less. The approach requires the second crossing of Saucon Creek to a well-protected putting green with a closely mown area in the front and a greenside bunker on the right.
Hole 9
Hole Name
From The Tee
From The Fairway The blind tee shot is over a hill to a fairway framed by mounds on either side.
On The Green A long drive may allow the player a chance to reach the green in two. The putting surface is well-guarded by bunkers front-left and right.
Hole 10
Hole Name
From The Tee This is the longest par 4 on the course.
From The Fairway The tee shot is played straight away and must favor the left side yet still avoid the large fairway bunker.
On The Green The approach shot is usually played with a long-iron to a green with bunkers left and right.
Hole 11
Hole Name
From The Tee This medium-length par 4 provides a beautiful backdrop with the mountain chain in
From The Fairway the distance and a series of fairway bunkers on the left side of the fairway.
On The Green The green is sloped from back to front with a deep bunker guarding the right side. An approach shot that carries beyond the hole makes for a difficult two putt.
Hole 12
Hole Name
From The Tee An interesting par 5 with a fairway drive that sweeps slightly uphill from right to left.
From The Fairway An interesting par 5 with a fairway drive that sweeps slightly uphill from right to left.
On The Green The second shot must carry a deep depression that cuts across the fairway. The green is more approachable from the right side. When the pin position is left of center, it will force a carry over a large bunker.
Hole 13
Hole Name
From The Tee A beautiful vista awaits the player on the tee of this sharp dogleg-right par 4.
From The Fairway The tee shot can be played with an iron or a wood and accuracy is as important as length on this hole. Playing downhill on the drive, it is easy to hit through the fairway and an approach shot that slants from right to left to a slightly elevated green.
On The Green The putting surface pitches rather severely from back to front, and most golfers will be quite pleased with two putts on this green.
Hole 14
Hole Name
From The Tee One of the most beautiful holes on the property,
From The Fairway this par 3 sits atop the largest mining cavity, which was created some 150 years ago.
On The Green A large slope on the right side of the green tapers off into the putting surface and ultimately towards a steep falloff and front-left greenside bunker. The elevation of this hole also provides a phenomenal view across the basin of the Saucon Valley.
Hole 15
Hole Name
From The Tee Moderately listed at 419 yards, this par 4 plays a great deal longer.
From The Fairway While the tee shot offers a downhill landscape, the second shot navigates one of the steepest climbs on property.
On The Green The two-tiered putting green is protected by a second quarry on the left side, greenside bunkers on the front side, and a steep falloff on the right. Stonewall is one of the most beautiful and challenging holes across all three courses.
Hole 16
Hole Name
From The Tee Views from atop the accurately-named High Low include glimpses of
From The Fairway Holes 2, 3, 4, 5, 15, 17 and 18. At the base of the near 70-foot drop-off is the 16th putting green sitting peacefully among a stream and two
On The Green greenside bunkers guarding the front right and left portion of the putting green. In order to secure a par or better, the golfer must account for the drastic elevation change and place their tee shot accurately amidst all of the quietly awaiting penalty areas.
Hole 17
Hole Name
From The Tee This short par 4 showcases the beauty of Saucon
From The Fairway Creek at its most expansive point while highlighting two lime kilns cut into the hillside. The tee shot requires the golfer to cross the creek to the fairway side of the hole,
On The Green which is also protected by four fairway bunkers. The putting green is guarded by greenside bunkers on the front right and left with the back of the green sloping away to the back left corner.
Hole 18
Hole Name
From The Tee The finishing hole is one of the most beautiful at Saucon.
From The Fairway The drive on this long, uphill par 5 must carry the corner of the dogleg yet not travel through the fairway into the bunker. Try to cut off too much yardage and you will find the final quarry located on the far-right side of the fairway at which point the hole turns sharply to the right. After the quarry, the hole then turns back to the left as the golfer approaches the green.
On The Green The elevated green is protected on the left by a closely mown fall off and guarded on the right by a large and deep greenside bunker. The putting green itself is pitched from back to front and from right to left.
